Cats Hour Challange - Part II
Really, trying to determine if the increased kill speed from fighting even-cons is worth the tradeoff of getting less inf per kill than I'd get from fighting +1s or +2s, or even +3s. I'm guessing the returns might be better at +1 but would start to fall off from there.

*edit* Looking back over the other posts... mine seems really high? Data was taken from Hero Stat's. But the start and finish numbers for influence were accurate as I copied them directly from in game. After running an extra map with everything reset, it does show about 22.2 Million influence per hour with a 17:30 completion time on a +2/x8/Bosses Council map. *shrug*
I would think that marketing doesnt count in these hour challenges mainly because vendoring and defeating create influence and marketing just shuffles it around.

Is anyone doing these runs while on a team, even with their second accounts?
I've been experiencing some really odd effects if I am on a TF or AE team. The game seems to be counting it as being "exemplared" for purposes of bonus inf. It may be some odd interaction with the patch today giving level 50s "double" inf while exemplared.

I explicitly attempted to exemplar via AE missions to level 49 on my 50 scrapper in order to get double influence. It did not work and I received normal influence.

Edit: I noticed a slight computational error on my salvage values. Fixed and reposted.
I figured it out. It's got nothing to do with being exemplared. My mistake was assuming that was what was different. It's not. What's different is that the new rules for double XP (or XP = inf) apply to level 50s full time, exemplared or not.
I am earning 2.42x as much inf for +2 minions as I was earning before today's patch and 1.83x as much for +2 LTs.
Edit: Running my DDD through the same map, I'm making 30% more inf/minute than I was making on double XP weekend.

Well, that explains Mr. Liberty's numbers. He was running with bosses on, which of course is a bonus, but I was scratching my head over the inf difference between us, my +3/x8 run had 1074 defeats, and that netted a bit over 9M inf, the difference seemed too big to attribute it to 200 extra mobs and "bosses on".

Edit:
It used to be that a boss was worth 10.71 minions and a LT was worth 3.43 minions.
Now a boss is worth 7.94 minions, and a LT is worth 2.59 minions. (All the above were at +2.)
A mission complete bonus is now worth 1.43x what it used to be (from 13.99 +2 minions to 8.23).

I was able to run it 6 times like that, leaving the odd Lt. that ran away or got lucky behind.

It's interesting to compare my data with MrLiberty and Aliana's. 25M seems to be the breakpoint (assuming 3 runs) using that particular map and a shield scrapper. Mine is nicely IO'ed and sitting at +72% recharge.
I'm going to see if another map is faster and will probably try to open up Harley's Demon farm.
Also, could we just set a fixed rate for rare salvage to include in our calculations. I know most of them can fetch anywhere from 500k - 3M, with the median being 1 - 1.5M. How does 700k for each piece of salvage sound? That's on the low end of average.
Things I've learned from this thread:
1. Even though I selected this map because I'm a blaster and have no status protection, it happens to be the best map to farm.
2. Yes, shield charge actually got a buff... I was assuming that was some kind of forum joke like the jump kick thing.
3. +3x8 is better then +1x8.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

What surprised me most so far was my DM/SD actually keeping up (sort of) with the others despite no real "big" AoE outside of shield charge. What would happen for most spawns was Soul Drain/SC, if I had enough reds going (to increase SD's damage) that would wipe Minions and LT's and the bosses would of course melt under the heavy ST DPS chain. Usually there would be a few LT's left though with a sliver of health that could be picked off by any of the attacks, and if there were a good many, lining up Shadow Maul made short work of them.
I'll definitely have to go back and tinker around with settings. See how +3's work, bosses vs no bosses, etc etc.
Character : Loveable Teddy (fire/fire tank)
Settings : +1/x8/No Bosses/No AV's
Mission : Gauntlet of Doom (my custom AE arc, uses zoso freak map with customs that all rez)
Influence per run for defeats: 2.69 million
foes defeated : ~338
time to complete ( reach 750 tickets earned then hit glowie ) : 7-9 minutes
set at 0/x8 (did this setting three times)
Influence per run for defeats: 1.77 million
foes defeated : ~840
time to complete ( reach 750 tickets earned then hit glowie ) : 7-9 minutes
set at -1/x8
Influence per run for defeats: 1.43 million
foes defeated : ~1170
time to complete ( reach 750 tickets earned then hit glowie ) : 12-14 minutes
total influence : 9.43 million in ~50 minutes
Also earned 7500 tickets.
Here I was mostly figuring out what setting would work best for me, and that seems to be the +1/x8 option. Extrapolating that run it would be:
Influence per run for defeats: 2.69 million x6 16.19 million
with 8000 tickets earned.
It seems one would lose 7 million earned in defeats for using custom mobs, but then you have 8000 tickets that will not necessarily generate influence into the system, but it will likely allow you to roll for alot of stuff that will get you influence on the market.
I would speculate that rolling 8000 tickets worth of bronze rolls will net you 30-50 million minimum or you could try the safe route with rare salvage and get 14 of them to sell at 1.5 ish million for 21 million.

This may be silly, but have you tried killing the hard targets before you let loose Shield Charge? Unlike Elec/ or Fire/, Dark Melee with high recharge runs the build-up-like Soul Drain almost perma, so there is no hurry to fire the big hitter right after building up.
Try leveraging AAO (plus SD) to down or soften the hard targets first, then let loose Shield Charge as the final attack before moving on. I know my efficiency went up when I started opening with Thuderstrike and Fireball, give it a try
It's also interesting that the efficiency of the Shield Scrappers keeps going up while mob level goes up all the way to +3. I think we should try +4, for the hell of it. It _should_ go down, but at this point I wouldn't guarantee anything!
(Hope Cat doesn't mind the shield hijack that's happening in his thread!)
I'm also thinking of doing a second, SO based build for Narcine and see what happens...
EDIT:
Oooh... kay...
Just did a run of the Council map at +4/x8/NoBosses. Took 20 minutes to clear (so, 3 runs per hour). Netted me 8M inf (the logging didn't work for some reason, so I don't know _exactly_ >_< And btw, that's 8M before sales, had 16 recipes to show at the end of it including a purple, a particularly lucky run?). So... It's about as good as +3, except less mobs (less chance for drops I guess?). That's a scary thought...

A lot of rust since I haven't touched my fire/kin/fire for sometime. I may have to see how her second build, which is fire/kin/stone, will fare. And the influence amount pales to what I was able to do with my fire/shield scrapper.
I spent 38 minutes on the wall in Cim. Sadly someone else turned up and knackered my run so I'll extrapolate to 1 hour. (The 38 min included the time needed to sell.)
Inf from defeats 6.12 million.
Inf from drops 3.42 million.
Total 9.54 million.
1017 defeats, 903 minions, 107 LTs and 7 bosses.
I was quite please with my run... until I read the thread. Clearly I can do much better.
P.S. I'd be really grateful if any of you would me the chatlogs you generate while doing this. It'll help pin down the purple and pool C/D drop rates.
IMO bosses aren't worth the extra time they take to kill, nor the extra risk they pose to squishier farmers. Of course, if you can safely solo them and have both enough AoE and single-target damage to dispatch bosses and the rest of the spawn quickly, they might be worth it on the off chance they'd drop a pool C/D recipe.
