Could have some fun with it and go for something water related.

There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"

I was going for the Wizard of OZ but that works too.

How about "Weathered the Storm" ?

Or "Witching Hour" ?

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Or it could be left alone.

It could, but I don't think that'd be so good - it's not a nice badge title becuase the real life evil atatched to it is referenced by the in-game things you have to do to earn it.

It's a Latin word, so they could even reuse the title for a badge in Cimerora, like for defeating Minotaurs or Cyclopses - I just don't think it should be used for defeating witches.

uggg.. Political Correctness from the baby witch wiccan crowd now..

how about we just leave it as is and get over it..

I'm not a witch or a wicca - I just don't think something like that badge title should be in the game if it's connected to defeating witches - it's very bad taste.

Well how about we remove that 100 years from history books too? Don't want to offend anyone..

if you think that is bad taste, you must live in a constant state of disgust, because there are plenty of worse things out there.

Because it refers to events in which innocent people were tortured and killed because of a superstitious belief in nonexistent witches?

If so, I can see your point.

Heh, that would be like wanting to take out the badges for defeating the Zues Titans and Kronos Titans because they're offensive to robots and giant robots everywhere.

Look, if we were always politically correct, we would have no holidays, heck, we wouldn't have groups like the Council, 5th Column or Arachnos because they're a reference of WW2 which is where the holocaust took place.

Granted that was a very horrific event that never should have happened and I hope all of those poor souls rest in peace, but would you want to take every single villain group that has a reference to something because it's a little bit, politically incorrect?

If the badge for defeating 5th Column was called Holocaust or Zyklon B, it would be offensive. I don't think anyone but Axis sympathizers could find any fault with an Axis-themed group that gets the stuffing beaten out of them on a daily basis. As for Malta Titan badges, please tell me where a group of innocents were killed for being falsely accused of being robots.

You fail at analogies.

I think you're missing the point - we don't do anything to help the 5th Column - there's nothing in the game that makes us on their side, or portrays them as heroic - but the "Malleus" badge does portray something evil as being heroic - it lines us up on the wrong side of the battle between good and evil.

It was way longer than 100 years - but history shouldn't be wiped away or hidden.

I don't object to references to evil events - but I do object to it being made into some thing "good".
For example, if there was a medieval time travel zone we went to via the Midnighter Club, and a mission there had us rescue a woman accused of being a witch, and had us beat up the people who were going to kill her, then that'd be totally ok, because it'd be putting us on the right side, and would fit in with the whole heroic thing of protecting innocent people and fighting evil.

So evil events are ok, as long as we're fighting against the evil - that's why the 5th Column are fine, but the "Malleus" badge isn't.

My best friend is actually a Wiccan and she isn't evil and I don't think she would find the badge names offensive.

Plus, those badges that you find offensive have been around for years. Why are they offensive now and not when they first came out?

*shrugs* The game has good witches and evil witches, we could just say the ones we defeat are bad.

It doesn't matter if they're good or bad - it's the fact that the title of an horrible book that helped murder so many people is given out as a heroic badge title.

They could just make the current one a villain title and something more pleasant for a hero title.

This is a pretty wild thing to say. Nobody's trying to deny history. But there's an ocean of difference between a history book and throwing something like that into a game, which is just for fun. There's no reason for it to be used, and plenty of healthy alternatives. There's a difference between trying to burn history books and saying "Hey the 5th Column should have concentration camps. That'd be fun, right?"

It doesn't offend me, but I can see how it might offend others. Can you not see that? Are you that insensitive that you don't CARE that it might offend other people?

Heh, it's thoughts like that are why this country is going down the crapper. Everyone is worried about offending others when it doesn't even offend them.

Heck, I'm 1/4th Irish and I don't mind when people dress up in green on St. Patrick's Day. Heck, it's thoughts like this that are ruining Christmas. It's Merry Christmas, not, Happy Holidays.
