Hello all,

I am looking to create the most optimum build possible for my Electric / Shield Scrapper, Influence is no object, it will serve the purpose of taking a break from my Fire / Kin farming, doing TF's and general teaming, i will respec and slot my build at 50.

I have come up with a preliminary build, i want to keep soft cap defences but attempt to squeeze in as much +recharge as possible, i was wondering if you fine scrapper forum goers would mind taking a look and seeing what i could improve on..

This is likely what I would do with an unlimited budget. And sticking close to you're power picks.

Could always replace OWTS with Grant Cover, for additional Defense Debuff and Slow Resist.

Wow looks very expensive

I also have an elec/shield. And cause i like it so much i made a decent build, which took me some time for the first time.

On the above build i would certainly change true grit take two slot out. Take hasten at 49(would drop one with the shield), put the two slot in hasten, put recharge io in there and voila permahaste(bar one sec)

Anyway i dont have so much cash so i made up this build without purples, still expensive but hope to achieve it one day.
The bad:
-I have less recharge(wel actually more but with the changes i suggest you would have alot more).
-I have no slots left to slot up fire blast which is a shame, would simply be a tool to pull if needed
-I have slighty less endurance recovery

The good:
-capped all my defense(ok i know i am lying i am short 0.1 on aoe)
-I have like 100% more regeneration of hp.
-Slighty more hitpoints and slighty higher percentage of damage increase.
-Still expensive but no purples at all

Feel free to educate me on how to make this even better, without the use of purples. This will be my first fully io char.

_Edited to say i made this build up by changing an changing and changing so the timing on powers and slots is not ideal and needs some work i guess. For instance no travel power till 49 is a bit hard. although this is a build i will respec into, i will certainly take my travelpower sooner.

Heres one I'm working on. Features include: softcapped defence, 100% Def debuff resistence (double stacked Active Defense), Shield Charge/Lightning Rod each back in 26 seconds, and Build Up in 28.

It will be very pricy though, especially with the PvP +3% def IO. Extra performance can be gained by putting purple sets in Fire Blast, Fire Ball, and Chain Induction without hurting any of the defence numbers.

I'm currently working on my elec/shield too. I can easily say one thing, while softcapped defenses are nice, seriously ask yourself, if youre going to use it to farm are they really needed. Short answer should really be no, especially with you picking the enemy types you're going to be farming, and how fast they will be dying.

Here's the build i'm going/am using. No purples, 39%ish defense, with good HP bonuses, rech/end and it regenerates a tic of hp every 3.5 seconds

Just an FYI, Mid's doesn't account for the Ranged defense you gain from Phalanx Fighting. It shows for your Melee and AoE though.

Sitting at lvl 41 and having a blast with my Elec/Shield. He's a little rough on End right now, but once I get the sets on him it's going to be fun!

Hopefully I can hit 45 before next weekend. Then I can run 5th, LGTFs and ITFs until I'm 50. Yay! Can't wait!

One very, very easy change you can make is to put the miracle + recovery in True grit and out of health. Same benefit, except the miracle AoE defense bonus puts you over soft cap

This is the build i ended up going with, and am currently slotted on live, i cant for the life of me work out if charged brawl or havok punch would be better for my st attack chain, just looking at the numbers on live charged brawl seems to have a better damage per activation time, is this relevant?

If you could be so kind as to enlighten me about which power would create the best ST attack chain taking into account my global recharge it would be very much appreciated.

My build is almost exactly the same with exception of the purples.
One question though, you have 5 LoTG 7.5%, wouldn't that cancel out the 7.5% given on the Basilics Gaze set?

There is a rule of 5, but LoTG 7.5's and Basilisks are considered to each be a different type of set bonus (even though both give the same amount of recharge). If you look in your set bonus list, LoTG's show up as "Luck of the Gambler: Increased Recharge Speed" and the bonus from Basilisks is "Huge Recharge Speed Bonus" (Or "Large", or something to that effect).

Ahhh I see... damnit! I had originally made my build with 5 LOTGs but switched it because I thought the six 7.5% bonus's wouldn;t work.... now I have respec and put that extra slot back into Combat jumping for that extra 7.5!

It is! ANd more! With my current build I have SHield charge and Lightning ROd up every 30 secondsish... Just missing one purp set and a LOTG that I left off thinking I couldn't use it....

Did a Reichsman TF with 2 Elec/Shield scrappers, No Tank or Rad and still finished the TF in 30 mins.

Or have a couple Elec/SHields on a Katie TF. Mary's spawns are dead in a second witht he 2 Shield charges and Lightning Rods.

My scrapper is even more fun than my Arch/MM blaster!

I am using this build (- the purple sets) and it is great.
Every 30 seconds you can wipe out full +2 minion/lts spawns. By the time you finish off the bosses you are ready for the next one.

I haven't seen, or haven't paid attention to, a fire, ice, or electric sheild scrapper. Are there redraw issues? Two handed attacks...I can't imagine them being done with the shield there.

Shields literally have no redraw. Some animations are changed to account for shields, and some stay the same.

A question on the Force feedback +rech proc and shield charge/lightning rod, does it work properly ?

I went for a not ludicrously expensive build with softcapped melee/AoE def and about 38% ranged, and for recharge stuck force feedback procs in SC/LR/Tstrike and the epic energy torrent. I see the howling twilight icon that indicates the +rech period come up often from the latter two, but rarely/never see it from the first two. That said my powers recharge fast enough that I feel they may be working.

Anybody know for sure ?
