ITF: Stalker Edition...

So me and a few friends were feeling a bit suicidal, and came up with a crazy idea. Basically, it's a kind of parody to the all Blaster ITF, but we'd do it with a full team of just Stalkers instead... We tried briefly to set one up tonight on the fly, but alas, we couldn't get the team going, so we're looking to try this again next week Saturday night,(October 3rd) around 6pm, or so, Central time...

So if you're interested in joining the carnage,(which will likely happen on both ends... ) let me know!

I'll have to try to find a time to run it at least once beforehand (I've never done an ITF at all plus unfortunately I'm a bit more story minded) but I'll gladly join if I'm available.

Hrmm... I might be up for this.

I should be able to make it that day. I have a Dual Blades/Ninjitsu I can bring.

If I'm not working that day (or off by then) I'll definitely be up for this. Claws/Nin.

Someone actually tried this with a LGTF before, but it had a lot of problems. No one wanted to take the alpha, half the team was scouting the map, and it takes a long time to clear a mission only using assassin strikes.

Then this should be good practice of how stalkers should really play. Pansies need to grow up and get out of their (hide) shell.

I can never tell if you guys are joking because I, in my entire CoX career, have only teamed with 2 stalkers that played like that..ever. And those were before the stalker changes.

Quoted for truth.

Pardon SatHam, he has a prejudice against Stalkers. He should totally join up and see what he's missing.

stalker-ist.....pure stalker-ist , but when you are leading a group of stalkers on something like this you will have to play like scrappers, and there are vary, VERY few stalkers that can take the alpha. I have been playing my stalkers since the day i started this game and i do not think i can take alpha on an itf. for the rom at the end of it you will NEED 1 or 2 /drk stalker. if you play the classic stalker and ONlY USE AS it will never happen. at lvl 50 a stalker has enfough powers to be able to scrap for at lest a little while, you will have to remind people of this.

I Tal'anor ja will be there on this team , see you there

Too early a time for me.

Prediction: A run back from the hospital for the entire team will follow every ambush.

My suggest would be to keep moving. Don't wait for ambushes and try to avoid them if you can.

Hope this comes off and let us know how it turned out. (66 deaths from the blasters ... hmmm ... i'll take the over.)

The time is a bit iffy for me - I may or may not be back home by that time. But look me up around then (@Valdy) to see if I'm on - sounds like a.....well, it sounds like something. XD

I think this would be very doable.

Mission 1: Just focus on the 3 Traitors guarding each sybil. Each stalker take a group and you could free them all in maybe just a few minutes.

Mission 2: Perfect for stalkers, each take a crystal or two and pop out. My /nin stalker was able to solo about 5 crystals before his t9 dropped, so with a full team it should go well.

Mission 3: Only need to spike the gens, except for of course the 'beast master' group. Best bet would be to kill the EB's first and save the Beast master general for last so his ambush doesn't come to join in the fray. The computer could be tough, but depending on your patron powers (pets, water spouts) I could imagine alot of chaos but should be ok. The AVs might be tough. Rommy has a pretty strong Melee attack. Req should be easier. Maybe pull them down (with spirit shark or nem/black wand).

4th mission: This will be the true test of your testicular fortitude. Shivans, nukes? couldn't hurt. People cycling in and out to get off AS, placate AS, with one well build /SR, /Nin, /Energy Aura stalker trying to 'tank' rommy. I think you will have alot of nasty team wipes. Good news, you can always Ozone to get more insp or head to base to get base buffs because you wont have any heroes on the team to force the disband.

A cheap way to go if all else fails is to nem staff/black wand the nicutus to death. Might be fun to try stack blinding powder and see if you can confuse Rommy into attacking his own nicti.

Good luck, sounds like it will be alot of fun and mayhem.

i am still wondering about people taking alpha, as a test i was able to clear the wall in cin with my stalker, but as soon as a boss was there i was a dead stalker

Bah! you guys dont give (good) stalkers enough benefit of the doubt! Its not a master run so they'll have the inspirations and the temps to help. I have faith! (although not enough to throw in my stalker since its only lvl 33 but still i have faith!)

I would love to see what happens if all the stalkers placate Rommy at once though. Hmm, with juggling tier9s (sorry regen!) they could do an anti-taunt method to allow the "tank" at the time to hold aggro easy.

Also remember you should never have to engage a boss solo. No sybils are guarded by bosses. The crystals have Khelds. The generals can be spiked (should not be attempted solo).

The biggest issues you will face are the AVs. Those will be tricky. Tal what is your stalker? I know of a few /sr stalkers that are soft capped out of hide which is to say they can tank AVs as well as any SR scrapper can.

I would think either a Stalker with Nin and def capped might be best, since they have that self heal. Maybe tough, too.

This is kind of a weird setup for any Scrapper or Stalker, though, as most of them are not setup to "tank" an AV. Should be interesting, though.

I'm now regretting not spending more time IO'ing out my DB/Nin. He could use some more defense, but then again, that's what the Retsu/Hibernate combo and purple inspirations are for.

If a blaster can tan an AV, I'm pretty sure a pansy ***** stalker can as well.

While technically true about a good Defense based Stalker, having a blaster jump into an AV spawn -> nuke -> die immediately -> use RotP -> then run away is never considered "tanking" by any definition.

Oh, you said "tan". Yes, I'd imagine most fire blasters can easily tan an AV. My bad.

I've already forgotten about most of you

Heh.

I'd also add that tanking an AV is not exactly normal for any Blaster, either. I know there was some Fire Blaster that soloed the ITF, but that's not going to be normal for most players, nor a build most are going to try to go for, either.

My Nin/Nin Stalker is far from the def cap, but he's done quite well soloing the EBs Redside. I would worry about an AV, though, as a couple EBs like Back Alley Brawler gave him trouble when they had a lucky hit streak. AVs would be much more likely to get hits in, even at the def cap.

Just pop inspirations. When you die, another blaster takes over.

QFT. Also using Demonic Aura for stalkers will help. Another piece I would add for the stalkers running this, save up your vanguard merits, those Mechs are nice .

And, of course, there's the Pop Eight Shivans + Some HVACs strategy.

I'd also highly suggest Nemesis staffing a nictus or two. It's the Melee one that's usually the biggest problem. It's acc is *******.
