i know "most" of you are trying to pretend to be cool and flame the op for actually having an opinion of his own and as silly as that may be
i agree with him( yes the op)...guardian is the black hole of despair...no one teams for **** there anymore ( except for farming the same tf's daily)and yes im aware i can server transfer and yes im aware i can go to virtue and freedom and then every couple of months get locked out of my server and come on here and cry like a whiny baby like you all do and ***** about how you cant play the game and all how the devs need to do something about it
but truth be told you "could" actually merge a few and have no issue at all.lag or other wise
i ALSO know of PLENTY of people not on the forums but ingame who share this feeling. i also know QUITE few that have left the game because of the ghost town aftermasses currently hitting a few of the servers
so at the end of day...ghost town servers are in need of help. yes they are and the devs SHOULD do something about it .

You're talking about 10 PM to 8 AM - I don't know whether that's Eastern or Pacifc or some time zone in between, but it's a chunk of time when a large portion of the US population is asleep. I know there are European and Australasian (is that the term?) players on the US servers, but I don't know how those hours relate to their sleep or work schedules, or what percentage of the player base they make up.
So anyway, if you're not having trouble finding teams during prime time, just at the time when most of the world is in bed or possible at work/school, I don't see why the servers should be merged just to accomodate your schedule, and that of the few other players that play during the same hours as you.

Maybe you should quit playing CoH. Seriously. I don't know what you do with the rest of your day, but your spelling, punctuation and grammar are atrocious. Unless you're 12 years old this poor quality of writing is inexcusable; and if you are 12 years old, what are you doing staying up all night? Honestly though, if you dedicated half the effort to improving your communication skills as you do to looking for, and complaining about not finding, teams in a video game, you'd be a lot better off.

I also am kind of a name snob. I have found that "Ebony Guard" is more likely to be an effective member than "black nite-." Just something I have come across...

However........what about character names? SG Names? How many players might have to give up names on characters they had literally had for years just because someone else from a different server had the name a few days earlier?
There are a great many people that play this game that have characters spread across multiple servers. Those people would potentially stand to face a lot of hassles, which would not in the long run be good for the community at all.
The cut and paste response on the first page covers all the bases on why it's a bad idea.
No server is a "ghost town". That's just pure and simple bull. If you can't find a team?
FREAKING SOLO for a while. OMG it's so hard!!!!112... NOT. People, you don't have to rush to 50. You don't have to team if there's no one around to team with. You do NOT have to do the AE to the exclusion of other missions and your contacts. You do NOT have to level fast, to ENJOY the game.
If you do have to level fast to enjoy the game?
You are NOT playing with me, that's for sure. A duo or trio has just as much fun as a full 8 person team OR a soloist does. You can solo with new limits to your mission content OUTSIDE the AE (I don't have a clue whether it's that way in AE missions or not, since I hardly play there) and pretend you've got a full team worth of people - and you can still play as a plain old heroic soloer.
"But why's it called MULTIPLAYER then!?" BECAUSE IT'S GOT LOTS OF PEOPLE PLAYING IT!
They don't have to all be on at once. They don't have to all be on your server. There are more people subscribed to this game right now than there were a year ago. There are dozens if not hundreds more newcomers and trials than I've seen in months - and definitely seen in years.
So crawl out of the AE building and stop farming for a moment, make a new character, play the tutorial, head to Atlas or Galaxy and *do missions* instead of grinding.
There's no need to merge servers, it's just YOU need to learn how to manage your OWN team dynamics or grow up and realize no one wants to team with you because you're being a jerk in broadcast/sending blind invites/being insulting. It's pretty much that simple.

Actually, let me try and do something noone expects here.
IF there are underpopulated servers, then the obvious way to go is to create an incentive to make characters on those servers. WAR gives XP and Renown bonuses for servers or factions with low populations for example. Though I feel this might actually not be the way to go since levelling to 50 quicker will not really do a lot for anyone once they've hit that number.
Instead I suggest increasing drop rates for everything on low population servers. Everything. From small Inspirations to Purples.
There, incentive given, no merger necessary, OP proven to be the retart he shapes up to be, entire forum community shamed for heedlessly flaming said retart, I win.

I get off work at 12m ET every night. Home by 1am. Logged onto Freedom by 1:15am.
Form 8-man PuGs (of varying success) EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT.
All you need is a *polite, literate* bind like: /bind L "tell $target, Level $level-ish team LFM - join us?" and some basic leadership skills.
Takes maybe 5 mins (post-i16) to put together a team like this.
((funny story, my first night on, post-i16, I started sending Tell invites - I usually don't pay much attention to AT on the first pass, just take what I can get and fill in the blanks on subsequent passes. So I Tell/Invite 3 Tanks on my first pass, not expecting them all to Accept.
All 3 Accepted! And we were stuck with lotsa meat-shield but little control or heals until someone dropped team.
But I thought it was indicative of the overall effect of i16 to have such a robust response right out of the gate.))

if you have to "make it " to prove a point then what about the other 6 days of the week.
as cute as u r to step up to challenge the ghost servers to team. if your "made" to do it to prove a point then you just proved me right .
btw..i do however have a lvl 40 dom ..my only non lvl 50...you wanna actually team?...look me up when your on.
but dont make it a point to prove a point...it'll just fall flat.

Last night.
I hold this as a sort of perverse point of pride; I'm actually going to be faintly disappointed when he reaches 50.
i can't find a full group during anytime but peak time
as a nite time player, am lucky to find more then 2 people to group with to do more then 1 mission before everyone breaks up
if we do get one going, people leave faster then we get new ones loggin in lft
am sick of this, i play to blow stuff up, with others, Not sit their for hours looking for more, doing solo content
if i wanted to do solo content i would of Freaking buyed a RPG

i won't be staying here long as a new player, the servers are all ghost towns, and anyone staying up late, would know the Pop is dead, and Pug grouping is a shell of former self
AE has been murdered, and i can't find any leveling groups for the life of me

AE hasn't been murdered. AE just isn't the PLing a toon from 1-50 in 3 hours go to area anymore. I still see people forming AE teams on Virtue.
I stay up late, I still see lots of people online, looking for teams. Maybe you're not forming your own?
And by the way, forming your own team is more that yelling "Forming Lvl ## team" in broadcast.
Use the /sea command, and then look at the list. See those names that are highlighted blue? They're not on a team. Send them a tell, asking if they would like to team.
