Your "Most Fun" Scrappers
I'll put a plug in for MA/SR, cool animations, great for the Batman/Captain American brawler fighter themed toons. Don't see a ton of MA toons anymore and that makes it a bit special as well. And properly IO'ed it is a quite effective toon.

1) 3-way tie between my MA/Regen, MA/Fire, and MA/WP. As you might guess, I really love the Martial Arts set. The /Regen is at 50, and the other two are just coming into their own in the mid/late thirties.

Heh, I'm the same way- I have 2 MA/SRs, an MA/WP, and even an MA/Nin stalker. I also have a DM/Regen, DB/WP, Fire/Fire, and BS/SD scrapper, but for some reason I can never get enough of MA. It may not perform as well as the other scrapper primaries in terms of DPS or secondary effects, but it looks the most stylish and sexy to me (DB is a close second though in terms of style), so I seem to have the most fun w/ this set and always come back to play one of my MA toons. And having the option in I16 to modify some of the kicks into a punch instead just gives more flava! (Just wish the punches they gave had a little more pizazz. Oh well, maybe in a future issue the devs will come back to take a look at that)

Claws/SR.
Great ST damage. Massive AoE. Tough as nails.
Be well, people of CoH.
DM/SD - My current pet Scrapper. I actually rolled her up before I knew it was uber, because I saw all the custom shields and had to have them, and the conversations I'd had with people on test said shields was weak on mitigation, so I picked the primary with the self-heal. Eventually I went on to solo AVs and stuff with her.

Wow - 28 scrappers on my main server across two accounts (and okay, some are destined for deletion and some are nameholders, but still.) And I'm supposed to pick THREE!?
1) DB/WP -- I love everything about this toon! I love the AoE damage, I love the combos, I love the combos' bonuses and the DoT that is "Attack Vitals" and the knockdown mitigation that is "Sweep." I love the animations on MY toon, although I think Typhoon's Edge looks kind of weird performed by a "Huge" toon. ("Look! It's one of the hippos from Fantasia -- minus the tutu but with extra scimitars!") I love the fact that it was my first foray into IO's, and that after a lot of them I can go toe-to-toe with just about anything I've found so far. Heck, I had a blast working my way up to 47th with only SO's! I love the fact that it's sort of like a kind of mini-tank with LOTS of whirling swirling blades of destruction!
2) Kat/regen -- I still love this since it was my first favorite toon way back in Issue 1, and since I didn't get him to 50 for a loooong time, I can't look back bitterly and say "man, this toon was SOOO much better back before Issue X when they all got nerfed repeatedly." Even during the nerf storm, he was still tough, destructive, fun to play and seemed to survive better than most other scrappers I'd team with, though I'm not sure that'd be the case today.... That's not to say that it's a bad set AT ALL -- I'm just horribly rusty and out of practice playing him, and slow on the self-heals, AND he's fully decked out with...um...SO's. Ooops. I keep meaning to do something about that and keep getting distracted by fun with #1 above. (To be brutally honest, I think I'm half-afraid to IO him out in case I like him better again!)
3) Ummmm. Probably a tie between my 44th kat/SR who's got the potential to be pretty darn uber eventually, or my 50th kat/WP OR my 50th BS/WP, both of whom are uber enough for me for now (with lots of IO's). They're all plenty tough, do lots of nice, dependable lethal damage, and I really have fun with all three of them! I just -- personally, your mileage may vary, of course -- I just have more fun with #1 above.
Honorable mentions go to my MA/SR, who I'd sort of shelved in anticipation of the new MA animations but is probably next on the "let's get him to 50" list, and my WP/DB tank. *looks around* What? Yes, I KNOW it's a list of scrapper favorites, but with a lot of IO's that toon does 86% of the damage of an SO'd DB/WP scrapper (that's not even counting recharge bonuses) and is even HARDER to take down. And it PLAYS just like my WP/DB scrapper, if you don't mind each fight lasting a little longer...owwww! *ducks and wishes for "Elude" as things fly at the stage* Owwwwwww! *flees*

30 level 50's: 12 scrappers, 7 other random melee types, 11 blaster/blapper/support squishies, two accounts, and a TON of altitis since 4/28/04
1) Spine/Fire - Perhaps the most fun ride to 50, she is an AoE monster. Made her the day /Fire was available to scrappers. First I didn't like the Banana's of DOOM (tm) but soon got used to them as I realized that entire mobs melt before her. Still my favorite AoE toon. Also my first purpled toon, back when purples were 50-65mil a pop.
2) DM/SR - This is my strictly non-TF content toon. Hit 50, IOed out and got to soft-cap, and love it. Sure compared to Spines the AoE damage blows, but also seems a whole lot more survivable than /Fire. Love the exotic and single target damage that she does.
3) BS/WP - Fun to level, but the lethal damage at the later levels had me dragging. Survivable as all get out. Burst damage is nice. BU + Headsplitter + 3 crits= Religious Experience
MA/Regen: got him to 50 back when Instant Healing was still a toggle. Was my 2nd 50, so he got shelved for other projects. Now when I play him, I can't stand him, mainly due to IH not being toggle anymore (yes I know, get over it) I love the MA animations, both new and old, it's one set where the attack really flow together. But smashing damage at the higher levels is just meh. But I'll keep him around, I have issues with deleting level 50's.

1) Concentrated Awesome, a Fire/SR who lived up to her name.
2) DM/Shield made because the name Manhole Man wasn't taken and because (pre-i16) Dark Melee looked most like something you'd find in a sewer. Not quite enough AoE for my taste but the WHUMPS of the punches with the WHAM of the Shield Charge is satisfying in the extreme.
3) Spines/Regen, my first scrap to 50. The only drawback was having to Reconstruct sometimes before the full AoE sequence was discharged, wasting a moment of Build Up.
DB/WP is least, but maybe because it's actually a WP/DB tank.

For me, I like different things about different Scrappers. The elegance and (frankly) hard-hitting nature of Martial Arts against single targets is something I miss when I'm on other Scrappers, for example, and someone I would have already wasted with Crane Kick is still standing there while I Lunge again. But when I'm on the Martial Arts characters, I miss the unbelievable field of death that Spines/Dark is.
But mostly, as with other ATs, I find that there's a moment of fusion when name, concept, powersets, description, and costume come together. Those characters are more interesting and entertaining than any number of high-performance and exotic character designs without good names and concepts.
The conclusion I draw from this is that I do not have enough Scrappers. I made another Scrapper this week.

1. Claws/Regen - none stop slashing machine from 1-50
2. Claws/SR - none stop slashing mutant from 50 and above ;-)
3. Now this is a toughy. Could go either way - Fire/Shielder or my mini tank Claws/Inv...
And the craps of them all for me...
anything Dark!!! Just can't get to playing either primary or secondary...
Right now I have 4 scrappers at level 50, but my newest, Shinobu Dragonheart, is MA/Invul and I have a very complete build with soft-capped smashing/lethal defense... it's a blast to run a mission set for 8, pick Council, and pretty much wade into as many enemies as I possibly can. I'll have guys standing two feet from me with their back turned because I've reached the aggro cap, and they won't turn to fight until several of their compatriots have fallen first.
Lotsa fun. ^_^

Well, I have three I've always been fond of.
1. My only level 50, Silindria, is a Fire/Fire/BM(Epic) and I've been enjoying the hell out of it. I always love leading with a double boost, FSC and a point blank fireball before finishing off anyone who's still alive. That and I'm partially fond of the Health/End heals as well as the rez. Just a fun combo all in all.
2. Currently, I'm working on a speedster theme (Speedway) with MA/SR. Sure, pretty common and stereotypical, but it fits the style I was going for. I also have yet to look at the new MA animations so hopefully I can thematically design him a bit better.
3. Also, I'm working on an Elec/elec Scrapper named Base-load (A variant of my global since the original's taken on virtue). So far, what I've seen is interesting. But i'm not far enough along to see what else the combo can do.
At some point I'd love to try a /regen as I've never played with that pool before.

I abuse all my scrappers equally, but I have to say that in terms of fun MA and BS tend to be the most lacking. MA's Sidekick could have an alternative choice without the KB, but then it should not be a side kick, perhaps a hook kick and the sweep, when it misses one it has a habit of missing everything. Broadsword lacks momentum, attack, pose, attack, pose, just ain't it. It could involve turns using the moment and direction of the cut to flow into another cut.

Number 1 is my Elm/SD is awesome, at lvl 23 I'm sitting at 35% melee def and already taking on the +1 Faultline EBs and Dr. Vahz.
My 2nd fave is my Claw/Fire, Follow-up feeding more damage to Blazing Aura is amazing.
My 3rd is my Claw/WP, slotted with only basic IOs he was a breeze to 50, no bumps along the way. He was nice and all but didn't campare to my Claw/Fire who "is" an AOE.
