I might actually look quite dashing in an eye patch
I sent you a note on DA, sir. Please tell me if it didn't get to you.
I approve of this entire pinup book! "You got kink in my burlesque!" "You got burlesque in my kink!"
(Pyro is a tanker, BTW. I know, seems more fitting as a brute to me too.)

I'm guessing I'm too late to get in on this, but it never hurts to ask, so, am I too late to get in on this?

Yes, sorry Mousedroid. I've had to turn three people down so far that came to me after the slots filled up. I will sell copies of the book after its finished, but I needed to cap on the number of preorders otherwise I'll never get the thing done. Depending on how this one goes, I'll probably do more in the future as well as my normal commissions.
VexXxa-- Don't get fired, lol!
Pyro--Yeah I'll see what I can do when I come back to the piece after all the teaser sketches are done. I had two specific characters in mind for this compositions, and they represented certain things narratively, but I'll keep Natrix in mind.
Btw, does anybody know what the deal is with Deviantart lately? I have different folders set up in my gallery. When I go to the folder, I can't view any of the pics inside unless I'm using that stupid "sitback" function. It's getting really irritating.

Haven't had any problems myself, maybe it's a Heisenbug.
Yes, dA has been a real embuggerance lately. For me it likes to overlap comments and refuse to show updates (so if I haven't replied to a comment anyone's made to me, that's because I can't bloody see it).
And Battle, you got the reference pic I sent, right? *can never keep track of these things*

Ive not noticed anything wrong, but the new artist coment speach bubble thing is giving me the s****
You know, all of this blatant debauchery has reminded me a lot of the works of Robert Bishop. I decided to go back through my old collection of his stuff because of you, BW. I hope you're happy.
I am.

When did you get so damned good!?
When? Lol whatcha trying to say Foo?
The last two sketches I think have turned out really well, in part because I've been using some 3d to establish the basic pose. Here's an example of me using 3d assets to set up a scene for a paint:
Before painting in Photoshop:
After postwork in Photoshop:
In terms of realism, I think I'm better at digital sculpting than drawing. However, the effort it takes to do 3d from scratch (sculpting, rigging, lighting, texturing, etc.) is prohibitive since I do everything myself. I don't buy premade assets. Over the last year, I've really been working on improving my drawing and rendering skills in 2d, so I think i'm reaching a point where I can seemlessly blend rough 3d elements into a 2d composition.
Both of those recent sketches used this unfinished bust of Batgirl I sculpted a while back: http://battlewraith.deviantart.com/a...-Wip2-96814361
All the other Barely Super sketches done so far are straight drawing with no reference.

Yarrrrrrrr that be some fine 3D mod'lin BattleWraith!
If I had that tablet I wouldn't need legs. I was gonna say hand but if my drawing hand cramps up I'm blessed with ambidexterity I would learn to use that thing with the other hand.
