I'm back and have added a sketch for Larissa to the folder.

Someone asked me what was going on with my rep while I was away. Apparently some people from Protector decided to rep bomb me over the weekend. I checked in over the weekend and it was flattened, but has slowly risen back since then. If you've given me positive rep, thanks for the support.

That's why I think Rep is a ridiculous system. It's completely unreliable and has no bearing on anything real in the slightest bit. I mean look at me, I have positive rep? That's obviously no indication of the quality of content I have as a poster.

That being said, if you want rep, I'll give it to you whenever I can, though you can just go to one of the rep farming threads in the forum game section.

Yep, you can get rep artificially whenever you want it. That's the second rule of life in action: people will abuse anything.

Lol well I hate to derail my own art thread but I can't get over this. One of the people "bombing" me has been leaving messages. One said "always negative, always complaining." For this thread, which is basically about the book, they write "you lost rep for a reason--you're too negative. How about encouraging people for once?"

They knocked me down on this thread leaving that comment. If that person is reading this--seriously, grow up and pm me if you have an issue with me on the forums.

The same person is neg repping me as well, but I welcome it. It makes them waste their time on something that I don't care about. I find it amusing more than anything else.



No matter what color of rep I have or arbitrary number attached to it, I'm going to be me. I also respect people who are the same, regardless of if I like them personally or not. In a world with so many followers and people that absolutely need to belong, it's nice to find those few that can speak for themselves.

There will always be those types of people. I would suggest either ignoring them, or making them waste their time on lowering a rep that's so ridiculously high that they have no effect. There's so many places to do that in these forums, it's easy to find one and camp it.

As for my negative stalker? Keep at it! I want my rep to match Mel's hair. RED and lots of it.

Maybe that was the person that gave me negative rep for titling this thread "buy this."
I thought it was funny given the spate of sale threads that had taken place recently, but they thought it was a bit "off" for this forum, although they approved of the idea.

whilst you sometimes can be controversial and a little rough around the edges You always have a well formed reason for your beliefs and you know what your talking about. I don't see it as negativity it is just being opinionated. I know when I saw your rep down I positive repped you, because you are definitely someone who should be listened to. You have helped me be a better artist and I appreciate that.

There's many opinions on whether or not being complimented by me is a good thing, but frankly BW, I don't ever want you to change. You have completely valid points, you make a good case and you don't say things to be a jerk. You point out things that need to be said and are not afraid of people disliking it. Even when we don't agree on something, I always respect your opinion. There are *very* few other people on this forum that I can say that about.

I wish there were more people like you around.

Don't worry about the red rep, BW. Some people can't help but be mean because they can stay anonymous. When the forum system is changed and the rep process is made to show the names of the rep givers, they will stop doing it. After all, they are all cowards.

I turned my rep off and closed the window for it. I don't really give any of them any creedence. After all, my friends will talk to me if I do something they feel is in appropriate. That is why they are my friends.

So hang in there. We'll make sure your rep doesn't faulter due to some misguided and ignorant neg rep farmers.

I really like the sketch you did . All of your sketches so far have been interesting, I like the different poses and feel to each piece.

*sidesteps back into derailment territory* Personally I laugh when people -rep me. The post that earns such ire is invariably one where I raise a possibly unpopular facet of the discussion at hand. The hilarity comes from the fact that instead of arguing against my point/facet/idea openly in a civilized manner, the indignant party instead resorts to a private attack of "shut up moron" or "ignorant". It's the forum equivalent of the "YOUR MOM" comeback and it always brings a smile to my cold, cynical heart when someone is forced to use it.

*ambles back on track* Anyway Battle Wraith, Larissa's sketch looks bloody awesome. And have you read the dA note I sent you this morning? It's got a fresh batch of references for the character I had in mind.

Try not to think about that sort of thing BW. I do think maybe your thread's name might get you some neg rep. Maybe not the best choice, but still, remember it is about the art.

I KNOW you are an amazing artist and you are full of artistic talent. Continue to express yourself and let it be seen, and try not to pay attention to the critics. I suspect it is a hazard of the trade.
