The Guide to BURN
Is the Herricane pic for the rest of this project? Curious because it seems a lot more tame than the rest... I love the more wild pics, of course, but I also like to see there's more to the mix than just that...
But, as already mentioned... They're all great.
My goal for the book is to have: 1. these preliminary sketches finished in the book version 2. additional sketches of the characters. 3. whatever personal art I make during this time and decide to include.
I'm doing these teaser sketches so that people don't have to wait a long time to see art of their characters. If I do a preliminary sketch of a character that is really naughty, then most likely in the book there will be other drawing of the character that complement that by being straight up action, or a redesign or something (unless you're suichi, which means they could all be naughty).
Some people have instructed me to do pics that are very mild pinup, and nothing further. Some characters seem inappropriate for anything really wild. So there will be a range of stuff in the final book, and there will be more variety than may be apparent looking at these initial sketches.

Actually, I quite enjoy the wide range of tone that this book will have in it. I think BW understands that contrast is needed in order to maintain interest, as well as the comfort level of the people within his pre-order list. If anything, I'm actually surprised that there's such risque level of content within the book at all, as I was expecting something more of a normal pinup mag. This is a pleasant surprise for me, but I understand that not everyone is MAXIMUMKINK all the time.
(though if you pay attention, there's a large percentage of this board that seems pretty ...alternative in preference.)
Also, I greatly enjoy the art of burlesque which is all about the tease, rather than the expose. There's an added element of sexiness when you have to use your imagination to fill in the gaps. That's why more tame pics added to the extreme ones is a nice compliment. The lewd pics set the potential tone of the book, while the slightly more chaste ones leave you to fantasize about the potential. It's in our nature to want what we can't have, so sometimes the 'less is more' approach actually works quite well in these endeavors.

Huh, Herri does seem tamer than I was expecting, based off most of the sketches done so far. Still, I'm fine with what's been drawn for Herri. It's still very much her. I was ready for nearly anything BW would have put her though. After seeing what Alex can do to yer char, there's really not much anything more surprising anymore heh.
But yeah I'm happy with the way she's drawn.
