When did they put a tailor in Pocket D?!

I answered that .....

Have patience and teach them.

I based my answer on what you wrote to an ae baby in a global chat channel last night, i am not saying you are anti new player, you are showing a certain dislike/hostility to ae babies though. I say treat them the way you would if a lvl 5 asked you the same thing.

Some sugestions:

Direct them to the forums, paragonwiki, and midshero designer. (so many people do not know about these information resourses)
Mention Accolades and TF's and explain what they are and how to get/do them.

These were some of the things I did on sewer teams for new people that would directly translate to people who are new but have 50's.

They are still new players and deserve help weather they are on a lvl 5 or a 50. It's not their fault they can lvl so fast why would you hate or punish them for it. You could also encourage them to ask questions about their powers or builds.

Try a noob
You'll like it, you'll see
Try a noob
Will you try one with me?

I will not, cannot
On a team
I will not, cannot
With some Freem!

Not in Atlas Park
Or a Task Force
Nor in The Hive
Or the Ski Chalet's ski course

I've seen them Sprinting
To Ms. Liberty
I've seen them bcast
"looking 4 AE!"

I do not want to
Try some noobs
Not even if they
Had some b00bs

I do not like them
Greenflame, Rat man
Noobs are the one thing
I. CAN'T. STAND.

On my very first character I put slots for recharge in Rest (added 3, for a total of 4 slots). My first character was an AR/Dev Blaster, and I had to use Rest a lot, so it seemed like a good idea to get that recharge down as much as possible.

Of course, that probably said more about AR/Dev than my limited understanding of building characters back then.

So tell me, what constitutes a 50 that "done all the lvling up the right way"? Just what exactly is the "right way"?

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

When I first started playing, there was no "exit" button in the nav bar when you finished a mission, just green text that you could click to get off of a map. I, however, did not know this. So I spent about the first month or so running back to the door of every mission to leave. Finally one day Phantom asked me why it took me so long to load out of a mission, and I told him it was because some maps were longer than others, especially the Oranbega maps. He then mocked me mercilessly and told me about the green text. >.>

Are you aware of the "exit" button that has been implemented?

My very first toon was a MA/SR scrapper, and one of the first things I did was add slots to brawl... mind you, this was in i5, when there was no "IO reason" to do such a thing. Also, as some others mentioned, I used to run all the way back to the exit after a mission success... learning about "exit" certainly improved my QoL!

As to n00bs: I can get exasperated with them at times, but on balance I like them - I always try to be helpful, and I can think of a few folks who I mentored a bit as "n00bs" who are far more advanced than I am now... CoH/V is complex enough that effective play is non-obvious, so NO one starts as any kind of "expert". And you never know what someone will become. Actually the SG I founded - Blazing Justice Squad - was pretty much a n00b haven when I started it, a tradition that continues to this day... we love the tabula rasas

The best place to find n00bs used to be The Hollows, and I used to love to go there with my high level defenders and sort of descend from the heavens to help out beleaguered toons by debuffing big mobs or throwing out heals, or even just standing at the Atlas gate broadcasting the availability of resurrections and teleports to pre-travel toons stuck out in the Gulch or something.

I will admit that I'm probably more impatient, nowadays, with some of the AE "n00bs" - somehow the fact that it's clueless level 50s bugs me in a way that a clueless level 6 doesn't, but the fact is they are only playing the game in what they assume is the conventional way. I have noticed a trend lately of AE 50s deciding to spread their wings and try other avenues of play, so I *try* to patiently explain how to get to PI, and so on.... and I resist the temptation to invite them to rated arena matches...

So I guess I'm nice

Does this mean you're no longer retired. I mean... a PvPer actually coming BACK to the game... that's... unusual.

I can remeber another noob mistakes I made,I think i kept poping Unstopable every time it's recharge or whenever i can.Because i think i would be invisble in combat,I was Wrong there and only took me 3 weeks to figure out how to use it right. Also i wasn't in a SG yet and spent half of My Major lvling alone and I couldn't figure out how to send tells and use other Chat Channels either.

It's not like we all Started out being 50 and i don't think we pl our first toons to 50,most of us got to 50 the old fashion way on teams,Soloing and doing TF.But i can see why people get bored lvling up that way, alot of my toons either lvl up by doing Tf or on a team now. Other vetrans get bored doing it the old fashion way,so they turn to Pling.I never like farming however i didn't mind the PI Farms until they got replace with AE and thats when i got pretty upset about the whole thing.Mosty i am sad to see Noobs go straight to 50 with out learning how to play there Alts.

I don't mind Farming as long a Noob don't lvl up that way,My Advice for any Nooblets who read this Thread is.The right way to lvl to 50 for a Noob is to team up and lvl up the old fashion way First, before you start pling your other toons so you can learn the basic game play.

I really like the way it's neutered voices. I think that is descriptive. Enjoy!
That was funny. Muffin Maiden and The Outhouse. lol

Noob things I did when I started:
  1. I didn't know how to chat other than in broadcast.
  2. I didn't take unyielding stance, but I did take jump kick.
  3. I slotted anything that dropped on any power that would take it
  4. I almost never used inspirations "unless I really needed it." Countless deaths with full inspiration tray.
  5. Because of 2, 3 and 4 above, I would get held, get low health, and run out of the map to start over. A solo mission could take me hours.

So, basically, if someone does not level their character the way you think it should be leveled until, in your eyes they learn to play, they are doing it wrong.

This is EXACTLY the kind of elitist BS that will drive people from wanting to hang around and play the game.

I can tell from the tone of your post that you think you are doing them a favor by bestowing your great wisdom upon them. You are not.

Not to be Rude Sure But people don't want to do this AE Stuff all the time,we all been finding it hard to help Noobs and if noob think he no's what he is doing because,oh look i got 50 fast, that means i am no longer a noobs, which isn't true.I have Alot of friends who been upset over the fact there nothing but farms going and right now we want things back to the way it is.People need help in order to become good players in this game and not give us Vetrans Much Stress. We all got to play by how Arctypes are set up for,We can't go out and have a blaster acting like a tanker, which he is not.We all got to learn how to play the right way and not the wrong way,So it's help everyone one out,the noobs and Vetrans player both. What AE does right now with us,how do we do TF and how do we work together as an team.AE is not teaching us how to fight againest an AV or how to Debuff a Villian or how to think during a Mission.... hey how do i use this toon to help my team out. It's all Smashing in AE farms,I notice when AE noobs does something else that not AE they bring down the team and hurt themself, because they don't no there Arctype or how to handle this boss or that one.My friend the only BS i heard today is yours, learn to team with other and please stay out of AE Farms, once they Nerf AE Farms, how are you going play the game then.
