It's just not nearly as cool as the old petulant mad face we used to have. That one was a riot. It wasn't, "I'm mad!" it was, "I'm mad, I'm stomping my feet, it's all your fault and I demand to be appeased... now!!!"

Actually, you just hit the point I use for considering someone a new player.
I know that there are some people who get a good handle on the game after a few days/weeks but it seems to me that about the three month mark it starts to "click."
This is a purely subjective measurement since there are some players who are dumber than a bag of hammers and will always be hopeless.
Fortunately those people seem to be few and far between.

well that's good cause I've gone through all the AT's in my first 3 months, lol.
Still, being a newbie info-sponge, when I'm on a SF or Raid, I simply ask to be pointed in the right direction cause the last thing I want to do is have the team faceplant because of something I've done.
I remember the first LGTF I was involved in:
"SWEET! We killed the lamp post thing, hey there's another one!"
"Yah there's lots dude, we have to take them all out in a certain order"
"oh sweet, I'm new so just tell me what to smash and I'll smash" (on as my brute)
*looks over while jumping and sees Mothership* "JE**S CHR**T WTF IS THAT?!"

But by that time you were pretty comfortable with your basic controls and the ideas of enhancements, inspirations and the like, right?
Thats what I meant by "clicking." At about 3 months you've stopped thinking about "how" to do things and have moved on to finding new tricks you can do and just enjoying the ride.
Heh, I've been here about 3 years and I still have those moments of "I've never been here before so just point me in the right direction." I think even the 5 year+ vets still get those.

Absolutley! Had my attack chain perfected very quickly, respec'd for patron power after a great deal of consideration for all of them. After getting bored of AE (started 2 weeks b4 it hit, how could I NOT get sucked in) I started making myself do the content stuff and now I'm answering noob questions these days on the broadcast. It's not rocket surgery, but I can definitley understand how someone can get lost easily.
