There are 2 updates/week (4hours), every now & then you download 15mb of files or more. Things are getting altered - but the mousebug is as it is.

In the meanwhile people that send tickets are being ignored, being told their ticket will go to higher support and get ignored afterwards,...

Do the devs want to provide us a quickfix for mac or do they hope we just stop crying about it?

I know this comes out like a rant, and it partially is but if a devs would acknowledge this problem and put it up on the mainsite and let us know wether they're working on it or not, I think it'd already satisfy us so we know there is a solution coming.

I'm kinda getting desparate on seeing a fix here - every downtime I hope my issue will be resoled when I log back in, but no success.

the issue wasn't around in i15 and it came to us with i16 - I'd even drop my i16 gains to just get a normal cursor back.
I'm sure they care, but it's not affecting a lot of people *compared to* the game population as a whole, so... welcome to the world of minority status

I got a reply from Support asking me "if everything was fine now" (standard follow-up email, I guess); I replied back "no, obviously the game is still bugged."

Anyway, I've unsubbed and my account goes inactive after the 16th... might resub if they fix it (and if I find out they've fixed it.) In the meantime there's always Fallout 3 which I haven't gotten around to...
  2. Nada, zilch, zero

A bug from the last patch has made the game unplayable for some Mac users... including me, sadly >.<

  4. Well, I went ahead and cancelled my subscription before it gets rebilled (I do the monthly autobill.)

Missed double xp weekend, and basically am not interested in playing the game under current conditions; I'll keep an eye on things, and if the GMA bug ever get resolved - or I upgrade - I'll be back!

Unless KotOR online is out, in which case probably I won't >.>

Not yet, and apparently... and specifically GMA Macs, I think.

I will say that I'm getting a lot of work and reading done the past week

Yes, the new one comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400... basically it's a 13" Macbook Pro.

If I didn't still have 18 months or so left on my current (white) Macbook's service plan I'd probably just go ahead and upgrade...
  7. If - IF - I can actually play then (currently my Mac has been pwned by the latest patch, and the game is unplayable) I'll happily participate.

    Why PvP?

That on its own merit confused me for a moment. Then I thought about it and considered the fact. Why PvP? Thats when I generated a nice little list of good reasons to PvP

    1. The Challenge - The AI for the most part is fairly easy to deal with. However other players, now there is something to will get me thinking. Going up against good PvPers to make me think and rethinking tactics, speed up reaction time and get the old adrenaline pumping.

    2. The People - PvPers get a bad rap because of a few. Alot of the PvPers I know are actually not only good players but good people too. They are helpful, answer questions and are generally fun.

    3. The Zone Fights - I am talking large scale zone battles here. Nothing more fun then 10 plus players on each side battling it out. Between the numbers game and surviving it really is alot of fun. Coordinated team assaults are also a blast.

    4. 1v1 Arena Fights - (not Fite Club) - Just you, your build and your strategy. Makes for some adrenaline filled fights, depending on your opponent and how well you are doing. Regardless these fights are fun.

    5. Team PvP - Working together to accomplish a singular goal, Win and defeat as many opponents as possible. The strategy, the coordination and the overall play really locks me into team PvP.

    6. Battle Royals - Oh man, 20 plus people fighting for their own means against everyone else. Getting in your final attack before someone takes your kill. Getting in the final blow to grab a kill for yourself. Defending yourself against an onslaught of attackers.

    7. Tournaments - No matter what the settings are its win or watch. Puts everything to the test. Not everyone wins but usually everyone has a good time.

Overall for me PvP enhances my gameplay. I still enjoy aspects of PvE but PvP fills those gaps that PvE just can not provide. As a bonus I enjoy the company I find when I PvP.
Pretty comprehensive, and a Big +1.

The only thing I would add is:

    8. Because I'm Evil!
  9. Sonic/pain corr is pretty versatile, maybe sonic/TA for zone teaming.

Both have the advantage that they are also fun to level... not the case with all PvP toons

    +1

My ice/cold was my main PvP toon - extremely effective back in the day - but now I just keep her in Bloody Bay and log her to kill shivan hunters when they broadcast for teams in global channels >.>

Kind of a sad retirement for a toon.

Actually she's still a great debuffer, and with slows and mace makes a great duo with a stalker - beyond that, not really worth any kind of investment.

    Mine still has SHOs only.
  11. CS updated my petition as follows:

    "Hello,

Thank you for the information. This is a bug that has shown up on select systems after the last update. The developers are aware of it and are working very hard to resolve it as soon as possible.

Please let us know if you have further questions."

    So... good to know

I'm doing a big cycling trip this weekend, so maybe it'll be fixed while I'm gone! *crosses fingers*

However this mouse bug does anything but relax me and without some indication that there is an end in sight I am scared i might just walk away again.

Just my 2 cents from my perspective.
Pretty much my position (except my hiatus was 21 months); the game is nigh-unplayable for someone as impatient as me >.<

I'm kind of assuming there will be a fix in a day or two (surely), but if not it would certainly end my subscription again
  14. I also can't command-tab out of the game... broke that too!
  15. Same here, Macbook with Leopard and 4G ram

Well, it's useful for one big heal, too

    pants help!

Boot cut is going to be tough because, after a few years of being the main jeans fashion, jeans are trending more towards straight leg right now; of course, the upside is that you can probably find premium boot-cut jeans for a good price.

Offhand, Diesel and Paper Denim & Cloth have had slim boot-cuts, so maybe search for those?

A.P.C. has a straight-leg model which isn't tapered at all, so it's sort of "boot cuttish"... they are tricky jeans to break in (they have kind of a cult following for the very reason).

Another possibility is a Japanese jean - there are so many varieties it wouldn't surprise me to find a 28 boot cut; a google search with terms "selvage", "Japanese" and "boot cut" should bring up some possibilities... in fact, a quick check show a pair of Nudies in dry selvage denim, boot-cut 28/32:

    http://www.tobi.com/product/5814-nud...-denim-bootcut

On the non-jeans front, Bonobos.com has great slim pants - boot cut - which are unfinished, so you can have them altered to length

I'd love to have base access as well (in addition to all my other fantasies like a pvp "danger room" using the base map as an arena map, an in-house tailor to avoid costume runs to those obscure corners where the tailors wet up shop, and a telepad to the Midnight Club), but I actually like the "meeting place" aspect of WW and BM... you go there and maybe see folks you haven't seen in awhile, akin to what might happen at the mall

I think it's always nice when there are natural "gathering spots" in-game, since it promotes a mode of socialization exterior to teaming; granted, this can be mind-meltingly idiotic (Atlas statue), but on the whole it's fun to run into people.
  20. ...

Well, I don't see where you plan on installing the concealed envenomed crossbow pointing towards where a guest/potential enemy would sit, the trapdoor switch, or the swivels where the desk reconfigures into a cockpit when you transform your house into a spaceship.

    Those nitpicks aside, very nice!
  21. Hi Kelcius!

I've been on a couple of your ITFs (I think with my rad/psi, Siranya).

    Kelcius runs a good ITF

Are the "Fight Police" RPers who have discovered the fun of PvP or are they
PvPers who have discovered the joys of RPing?

    HP Lovecat
I'm the first to admit that PvPers are the LARPers of MMOs.

I mean, you should see how animated I get on the other side of my keyboard during a close arena duel...

That's not even acting; it's real!
  23. An all-healing build is a bit silly... an all-buffing and healing build, on the other hand, has its place. It's very specialized, but it has a place.

I'll reference a hero-side analogy: I have a pvp-built emp who only has the level 1 attack, and otherwise is entirely focused on buffing and, if needed, healing. It gets no play nowadays, but when emps were more in demand for pvp, it served well as a zone pvp buffbot for blaster teams (in Sirens, especially.) It's also handy for a really reckless full team doing something crazy, like Malta missions on invincible or the like.

I would direct readers to the link in my sig - I wrote a guide on this - but the link is broken (and will be fixed when I have 5 minutes of utter boredom ); it does go over the rationale of such a build.

Downside is that it's boring to play except in the cases I mentioned.

As far as the roleplaying argument - it's a villain and should be selfish, so why would it only take heals etc. - has merit, I suppose; I myself am totally and completely NOT a roleplayer, though, so that hadn't really even occurred to me. I guess to me it's more blue and red than hero and villain... I just get on one when I want to hunt the other in zones

I should emphasize my argument is about a build devoted to *buffing*, not *healing*... frankly, a good corruptor (like a good defender) - especially one devoted completely to support - should be doing a minimum of healing if they're a proper buffbot.

And taking the medicine pool is pretty redundant and silly for any but maybe a duel-built /cold corruptor, and then it's for the self-heal.

    Dealing with RMT

Way back (like i8), when farmers (er, RMTers) used to occupy all the RV Hero heavies for hours, grinding turrets, I used to get on my corr, recruit a posse of villain pvpers, and mercilessly hunt the farmers... at the same time, I arranged for some heros to be in-zone who would be positioned to grab the Hero heavies when they respawned. There was one farmer I particularly loathed (Dirty Pig or Unclean Pig... something Pig) so he always got special attention.

Spreading good-will between villain and hero and gaining rep in the process was nice.

Reading the farmers' frustrated, semi-literate tells was the cherry on top

    Haha, so true-to-life.

I want a baker's apron costume piece now, ideally paired with a chef's toque.

French maid apron would be nice, too.
