New And Need some questions answered
It seems like your getting inspirations mixed up with enhancements.
If your new I suggest you create another character and run the tutorial before going to either Atlas Park or Galaxy City.
I believe you are referring to "enhancements". Inspirations are the little squarish things that give you a temporary boost. Enhancements vary with level, but the general rule of thumb is "higher level of enhancement, better the effect". You can slot a regular enhancement within three levels of your current level {i.e. if you're Lv14, you can slot a Lv17 enhancement, but not a Lv18 or Lv9 one}. There's also the Invention System - swing by Admissions Officer Lenk in Steel Canyon for a tutorial on IOs. Also, various enhancements are compatible with various powers - your archetype {scrapper sounds about right, icon's an orange boomerang?} is largely irrelevant in what enhancements you can slot.
Edit: Also, just on the off chance you hadn't, run the beginner tutorial, the one you get the option to when you create a new character. Also, the regular enhancements are grouped in three tiers - Training origin {TO}, which don't have that much of an effect, Dual Origin {DO}, which are twice as effective as TOs and Single Origin, which are twice as effective as DOs.
Does someone have the stock guide to ED they can paste?
cool yeah i think my power sets are fire and willpower
ok ill do that ah! so thats what the numbers are on the enhancements yeah i created wings through the invention system today so can i invent enhancements aswell?
This is from paragon wiki:
Inspirations are single-use temporary boosts. There are several different inspiration types that provide various ability increases. Three inspirations of the same type can be combined into one inspiration of different type.
Powers have many aspects, such as damage caused, accuracy, and endurance cost. Enhancements permanently improve one or more of those aspects. For example, for a typical ranged blast power, Enhancements can make it hit more frequently, cause more damage, reach farther, cost less endurance to use, or have a faster rate of fire. An Enhancement's type and level both affect how much benefit it gives to a power. Once an Enhancement is assigned to a power, it cannot be moved to a different power, although it can have its level increased or be replaced or removed entirely.
Enhancements can be bought from contacts and stores. They are also "dropped" randomly by defeated (non-player) enemies and are provided as rewards for some missions.
Since your level 14...you can buy Dual Origin enhancements in either Skyway City or Steel Canyon at an origin store. So if your a Mutant you will go to the Mutant Store...if your Natural you will go to the Natural Store.

Overview of enhancements
Here's a build up to 22 that is using DO slotting that takes Fly because you got the recipe for wings, but you could sub anything in. Also note that you should sell enhancements at the store of the same origin. If you get an enhancement that is at least partly magic, sell it at a magic store.

The short version of what it is, is it let's you create your own missions. This can be a good thing, but what you'll likely see happening is people running teams that are solely there to max out exp as much as possible. The good part of that is you level really fast. The bad part is you get less time to actually learn how to play in a normal setting. Here's a great guide for new players even if you don't enter in AE.
I'll also toss in Faultline is good 15-25 content. Stringa is good 21-30 content. Croatoa is for 25-35. Hint, it's a zone that was added after they did a Halloween event. 35-50 Rikti War Zone, which let's you team up will villains as well, and Cimerora is Roman themed.
I would also look at the server forum for where you play and find out what people are setting up stuff to be run, like TFs and such.
I can't believe nobody clicky the wiki for the OP.

I'm going to clarify something that may not need clarifying.
There are actually two "systems" of enhancements. For the first few years there were training, dual and single origin enhancements and that was basically it. Then they added the invention system. Invention system gives you a bit more benefit at tremendous added complexity.
My advice is always "First time around, just use the enhancements from the stores. Sell your salvage for 1 influence at Wentworth's, sell any recipe with a "name" [like Positron's Blast] for 1 influence at wentworth's, sell any generic recipe to a store. If something doesn't sell after a day at Wentworth's, take it down and sell it to a store."
This is sort-of bad advice, because you may give people some serious bargains. You may sell something for half a million that's worth ten million to anyone else.
BUT if you're only using single-origin enhancements, you don't need ten million inf for anything, ever. You can buy a full set of the highest level SO's for about five million inf, and you have 47 levels to get that kind of money. You'll always have more money than you need.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I mean, it's CALLED ParagonWiki and that's the domain that TonyV actually owns. If it ever moves again, we have to go through the whole song and dance about correcting people all over again. Am I right?

I'm curious. Why do people so often link to http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page rather than http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page?

Because for a while, ParagonWiki directed folks to the Wikia page that was full of ads for gold farmers and other MMOs. Until TonyV managed to reclaim the PW domain name, cohtitan was the only URL that worked, and we just didn't change our bookmarks once PW started pointing to the right place again.

People have posted much of the information that is contained within the tutorial, gabriel. You have to actually read the dialog boxes that the game throws up there for you. Don't just dismiss them by clicking OK without reading them.
You'll go through another tutorial at the University that explains building enhancement from recipes and salvage. You'll be doing yourself a huge favour if you read those lessons.
Have a problem generating extra inf? My advice, sell all of your drops at the market, you can easily make 1mil by level 10.

In gabriel's defense, when I started the game I ran the tutorial and I read all the information it gave me, and you know what? I still didn't get it. I had never played a game like this before and throwing all this stuff at me about inspirations, enhancements, slots, etc. etc. was just information overload.
When I started earning enhancements I was under the impression you could only use one slot for accuracy, one for damage, one for endurance, and so on. I also didn't realize that training origin enhancemnts aren't really worth anything, so I wasted a lot of money on TOs before I started reading about them on the forums.
So yeah, when someone doesn't know to use the "Exit" button to get out of the warehouse when the mission's over, they need to rerun the tutorial. But when they can't fathom the intricacies of enhancement slotting after playing the game for one day - the tutorial isn't going to teach them everything they know.

Yep. Like I said, hit up Admissions Officer Lenk {he'll be in your contact list, I believe - if not, swing by Steel Canyon and he'll pop up} for an IO tutorial. Also, you can ask in the Help channel by using the /hc command to ask other players about game stuff. Not to worry - we don't bite {much}.

The others are right about the history of it. When we left Wikia because of--*ahem*--various issues, it took me a while to get the paragonwiki.com domain back, and it was a bit iffy there for a while. One of the things that I wanted to make dead sure that Wikia understood was that we weren't going to be held hostage by a domain name, which is why we had the wiki.cohtitan.com song and dance. It worked.
For a while, I considered going through one more song and dance and requiring everyone to change their URLs back, but I didn't for two reasons. One, what a pain in the *** that is. Two, I kind of like how the wiki.cohtitan.com address points out that the wiki is part of the Titan Network. Thus, it's pretty much everyone's individual choice which to use.
Besides, what do you have against singing and dancing?
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
So yeah, when someone doesn't know to use the "Exit" button to get out of the warehouse when the mission's over, they need to rerun the tutorial.

5yrs later, i'm still sorta embarrassed that the exit option had to be pointed out to us by our (then) 8yr old boy.
