hmm... The respec trials normally scale to the levels actually on the team. I'm guessing you were already in the mission and had these drops and they were high-level toons quitting. You could have restarted and it would scale to the current levels. FYI, the respec trial is not hard for a duo. (Blue side. I've only done the red respec once so I'm not qualified to have an opinion.)

yes but you cant restart with just 2 guys hence no teams available.got back on it later sunday night with 4-50's, 2-scrappers,1-tank,1-PB couldn't finish last mission so i dont think it can be finished by 2 so thats really bad advice!

If you still can't get a FULL team together in LESS than a half an hour after reading that guide....

...then you should send me a PM on these boards with a time and place that you want me to meet you in-game and I'll form the damn team for you and show you that it's not as hard as you're making it out to be.

I wonder if anyone would take me up on that, or if they'd rather sit outside of the game and keep complaining instead?

It can be finished by 2. Or 4. Or even one person solo.

Had some experiences on both sides on Virtue, recently. Put together teams of 8 for the first Midnighters arc and a Hess TF quite quickly within the past few weeks. On the other hand, I've also had a few experiences of failing to stir up much interest, especially villainside--telling two global channels, sending people tells, broadcasting, the whole deal.

There's little doubt on my end that running PUGs has gotten far trickier in the last few months. Used to be I could just throw up my LFG flag and shout that I wanted a team for about 10 minutes in order to get a team on my tanks and defenders. That stopped working, so I joined the LFG channel... which stopped working, so I started leading teams... Leading teams still works for me more often than not, but I don't like the way the trend is going. It's at least gotten to be enough of a pain in the butt to form one that I've temporarily stopped playing support.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

This has become City of Wallflowers, that's just not going to change. If you want to be on a team, you'll have to change with it, and lead.

I really need to alter/update my guide to make it more general....

Yeah, they can be pretty bad from what I hear. A lot of AE farms just have a single high-level character run through the mission (often level 52 bosses or some such) while a bunch of lowbie padders sit at the door. If it's an autoSK level 46 mission those lowbies would be slaughtered instantly if they actually try to do anything.

This is not at all new -- people have been doing this sort of thing for years with the Demon farms and the Family farms. The main difference is that AE allows it to be done with a single mentor instead of requiring a bridge for each SK. And you don't have to find your way to PI to get in on the farm, so it's much more "in your face" these days.

I do feel your pain in this,Caestus.I do wish things would change, and teams would become easier to form and to join, but unfortunately you are dealing with people who will find a way to make it your fault that you cannot find a team.

Like its your fault that they say no to your team invites all the time, you know?

When you work with things on your end to fix the problem, like the players suggest, they still say no.

In the end,you arent the one at fault.Good luck trying to get them all to see it.Blood from a Stone type deal, you know?

there were tons of farming before AE but AE made it easier to farm. If u like tf teams id suggest signing up on the freedon channel of the forum for the monday and wednesday tf's hosted by mr. e and luna de nocturne. if u have toons on freedom server this is a fuin way to get on a team

It wasn't advice. It was a statement that the respec can be complete by a duo. I've done it. I'm flabbergasted that the team you list was unable to complete it.

It's not a question of fault. Fault and blame are irrelevant. If the way you do things now is not working for you, or you are not enjoying it, do something different.

What a lot of other folks here said so far, and...

While I often solo and duo/trio with some friends, I play a lot of "pick up" teams for regular content missions/arcs as well. If I'm on a pick up team and find that the team has some good players, I'll send them a /tell and let them know that I've added them to my global friends list in case they want to play together again. Often, people will reciprocate. Over time, I gradually got more and more invites to teams from people who I played with weeks, even months, ago who remember how good our team chemistry was.

I'm on the "form your own team" camp... and at the same time I can sympathize with people who don't want to do it, because I don't like to either.

It's not like forming a team is as easy as inviting people and fighting. You can't move at your own pace anymore (i.e., I sometimes have to AFK every few minutes,; as a teammate there's always downtime during which I can do that, as a leader I have to recruit, select missions, etc. ), you have to cater to what other folks want to do, sometimes you get into arguments or get blamed ; there's about one hundred reasons I could list but basically it comes down to this : when I load up a video game, it's not for socializing, but blowing stuff up.

I like playing with players, but I'd rather not deal with the people behind the players unless I absolutely have to. As a teammate, I don't. As a team leader, I do.

That being said, I know I'm the problem - and that applies to everyone who complains about not enough people to team. Accept your lazyness and either do something about it or don't annoy everyone else with it.

I was able to form a quick 3 man team on Triumph yesterday in Outbreak to do the Isolator Badge. Easy to do and faster to get the badge.

I assume you actually mean SERVER (or 'local') friends list. When you try to add someone to your global list, it displays a pop-up window on their screen for their approval. You can't add someone to your global friends list without their agreement.

/macro LF "say, Looking for more...$$emote Binoculars"

I find that while the binocs are out, players are much less likely to get antsy, as they know you are working to make the mission more fun/rewarding.

If they see you just standing there while you're looking - they don't know if you're AFK, chatting with friends, picking your nose, whatever.

(snip)
This is great idea, I normally make sure team mates know I'm looking for more so they know not to jump in missions etc. But the binocops would work really well.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I did mean global for the several of us (people I've befriended since I've started) who play pick up together on more than one server. My global list will also contain RL friends who are all in the same supergroups on different servers.

(eta: You're right in that starts with an addition to the server friends list, which I still let them know in advance through a tell to them although approval is not necessary.)
