So, as I've mentioned a few times I have this experimental stalker I've played to 30 in "casual gamer" style, the goal being to see how much inf someone could earn playing inefficiently and selling drops.
I logged him in last night to move him to another day job spot and checked his market slots. Uh oh. That stack of lowball bids I made on Gift of the Ancients + runspeed IOs had some winners. (as often as I disparage silly RP logic around here, it's slightly embarrassing to admit that I 'RP' this stalker as being a normal guy with a sword & no superpowers- so, no travel power. He just runs everywhere. Thus his thirst for the +runspeeds) Opening the price window was like cracking the door to Bluebeard's Closet- I knew I shouldn't, but I couldn't help myself. The 'last 5' were in the 10,000,000 inf range. The little Marketeer with the horns and barbed tail on my right shoulder was hopping up and down screaming FLIP THEM! FLIP THEM! And while you're at it, respec out of the ones you've already slotted and SELL THOSE TOO! Simultaneously the little RPer in the white robe with the wings on my left shoulder was calmly saying Now, you know the rules- you made them up! No marketeering, no flipping, just selling drops! Grrrrrrrrrr! >: |

I also know the feeling. After I "retired", I was buying up a lot of Miracle uniques to use & store for the SG and I once peeked at the last 5 price after crafting one. It was going for like 75M (I'd bought for around 25M). I couldn't help myself--I flipped it, it insta-sold for 75M, and I bought another one (for like 25M) not soon after for actual use (no, I didn't peek again!).

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.

He has no travel power, unlike every other super villain.
He will use the funds from this investment (read: flipping) to pay for public transportation, and the weapons cache to conceal his swords from the eye of the possibly suspecting public.
See? Flipping them has roleplaying value, too.
Now, do it. I thought you were a villain?

I resisted the temptation to indulge in a new laptop the last 2 days and now the deal is gone. Strike while the iron is hot, 'goat!
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Okay, I've got a compromise-
I flip the recipes, but deduct the profit from his final total, so it'll be like they never existed!

If you want to avoid temptation, slot them all. Yes, all however-many-you-have.
This will avoid those self-conversations of what to do as you stare at them in your tray or recipe inventory.
Then, when you've come to your good (albeit, villainous) senses down the road, you'll know you can 'spec and sell the babies after this project of yours.

Or you could always move them to an alt and let the alt flip them, this character had no part in the flipping. Just bought them and decided that he didn't really need them. That way the non ebil character doesn't profit at all.
