Avatea mentioned saving PMs but IIRC I've not seen anything mentioning backing up/saving threads/posts. So I presume that the plan is to move all threads across to the new boards in some shape or form.

I sincerely hope that point 2. doesn't happen. Both of those sections have so much work and effort invested in them (as do others, admitedly) that it would be a travesty to lose them.

Maybe. Just don't be surprised if they have some "technical problems" and some threads, or indeed, entire sections, go missing.

TBH I'm expecting a completely new, completely blank forum which we'll have to repopulate all over again due to some "technical" hitch

Most of the artists will probably have their work saved someplace else, so the new forum would give them chance to repost to a bigger audience

Hmmmmmm, i've just thought... will the non server specific boards be merged.. like say, the players guide forum.... if so i have realised my oru badge guide will likely become redundant as there is another guide over there which comes to a lot of the same conclusions though presented in different manners (And no i didn't just blind copy it!!! I did a lot of research work on it in game!)
Also, there are dev posts that were dulicated both here and over there with thier own sets of replies... what'll happen to those?

Remember, it's not one board migrating to another, it's two boards merging and migrating. That's a small nightmare and I honestly can't see why they bother really. Yes, a few would be upset about a total cleanout, but...

That will be the biggest problem if they ever decide to merge US with EU servers. My US accounts have the same name as my EU accounts, wonder how they gonna do that.
Both my forum logins are same username, but different accounts, i gues thats why they need 3 day, to go round to my house and change one of the account names

Anyway, boardmerge is the first step of server merge.
Or, in that line, they would trow out a TRASHLOAD of advertising for GR, but that would basicly create canibalism among their own game (did you know Aion store is actualy IP locked? If you try to acces the US client purchase page from a EU IP, it says not available for your region).
