Yeah it was great fun! I did a Hollows event a few weeks ago and it's all about the old skool attitude that seems lost amongst the farmers today. I think that a good old fashioned team is a lot more interesting than a farm because you're consistently placed into situations that require teamwork and co-operation as well as tactics and forward thinking. In my experience you don't get that much of that stuff in farms, and the playerbase that can farm to 50 in a matter of hours is suffering because of it.
I'll be on when I can, trying to level up my new WS (got to lvl 12!) and running regular teams. The amount of time we spent saying "gratz" in team tonight so often I'm surprised people think they need the MA farms!

[*] PvP MISSIONS - remember when you used to get invited to quick pvp missions? Really REALLY good xp. On my latest character i went from 17 - 20 purely from BB missions. Made quite a few million off it too *hint hint*
[*] Getting a level 10 team and going streetsweeping in perez. That much carnage must be put to use!
[*] Taking out the fires in steel canyon! I still do this now and then because its actually fun! More fun if your a low level and have to survive the hellion onslaught too.
[*] Going to sirens call and trying to win the hotspots. Again i've been doing this lately in the early hours and its soooooo much fun! Theres the calm before the storm and then BAM! All out war and the coward in you begs that you run since you know your going to die

[*] Having a full team and then doing missions that technically shouldnt be possible!!! Will need an awesome empathy but boy those missions are just simply the most fun ingame moments ever!!! Constantly in the red, staring death right in the eyes and simply refusing to die . . . . . good times!!!
[*] Striga island arcs. Because me loves the boats!!!
[*] Go boss hunting in sirens. Seriously do it
[*] Atta . . . . . because you know you want to experience going in with a full team and having to rebuild a team 3 times before finishing

To be fair thats no-ones fault apart from us the players. We have all/mostly taken the easy route of going to kings row first. Such a shame that by the time you've got the jetpack that your almost level 10 and can easily bypass the hollows then.

ahhh, no, our old skool team we set up skipped kings and went the old fashioned way, but with the re-configured hollows spawns, no gulch run
To be fair thats no-ones fault apart from us the players. We have all/mostly taken the easy route of going to kings row first. Such a shame that by the time you've got the jetpack that your almost level 10 and can easily bypass the hollows then.

I try and do a mix, Hollows did lose a lil magic due to the jetpack but then the experience of mob dodging is still incredibly useful. I'm quite sad no one seems to do Faultline anymore, such great arcs and the XP is yum!

Same, well except for the level 20+ arcs there since i tend to go for my midnighter arcs + sirens call runs then followed by striga. TOO MUCH CONTENT!

I'm always playing old school. Thanks to my Fiancées altitus I have probably done the Hollows and Faultline arcs around 5 times this year.
Atta can become a pain and sometimes feels like a slog, but it never bores me. The only mission that annoys me is 'Clear out Igneous in cave' from Julius the troll. It can easily cause team wipes but with the right team, its a breeze.

Out of curiosity I joined an MA team with my level 21 scrapper... it was set to level 50+, the mission was a huge map, packed with huge mobs, which were nothing but bosses.
I told them I had to feed my cat so I left. I don't even have a cat.

I for one still raise the banner for old school villainy which is EVEN rarer than it is heroside these days. When was the last time you saw Mercy and PO with a decent number of people on it?
My latest project Startriggerhappy has been creeping himself upto lvl 17 so far. It annoyed the absolute hell out of me that I ended up joining a mate farming for 10 mins (literally) as I couldn't get any other team - but then once I got the ding to 16 for next power (and properly prepared for Binder of Beasts asap) he left and is now back to old-schooling.
I for one will be calling for more of THIS redside too. It annoys the [insert extremely creative offensive rambling for a few mins here] me that I am quite alone in this. The heroic types are doing it again - and they ain't no better than educated fleas, birds and bees... so lets do it, lets kick some [censored]!!!
Anyone fancying the concept of some lower team redside can always holler at my new dom and kick it! Can't be letting the heroes do it all and farming is both hard and dirty, disgusting work. I'd rather rob the rich and destroy the virtues of the innocent the hard way once again! Join me now! Or make me do 'giggety' things to you too!

I've been mostly doing normal missions on Union Redside this week too, I';m level 27 at the mo. Tried forming a team in Sharkshead last night with a few call-outs.
Only taker was a Sonic/Pain corruptor who was sound. We had a blast duoing a fair few missions, culmenating in the IP Mayhem which was so much fun we ended up doing all 3 side missions too.
Hopefully will be more of the same tonight too, teams are far more interesting than the solo grind.
I'm doing normal missions most nights on villains with the odd side switch to heroes every once and a while.
even managed to get a regular team organised in my VG for Tuesdays and Thursdays (tho in typical fashion i now cant join them thanks to RL commitments)
Aye same on villains i work my way through my contacts and avoid MA. I always seem to find a contact villian side where i cant remember doing thier arc on any of my other chars. Other then kalinda

I think i tried some arcs when it was new. Then i made one of my own and not touched it since.
When I look at my contact list on most my toons they've pretty much not missed any. I never left the old way of doing things and use the no XP alot.

I originally left the game 2 and a half months ago cause i was bored of the current content and all the farming that was going on... a week after i left, Rent informed me Matt Miller was cracking down on farming... came back 2 weeks ago to find its just as strong as ever except they're still removing mobs instead of modifying for MA use, everone was farming and only a handful of players were doing regular teams.
Well, me and @Soul Storm got together tonight and made new characters in an attempt to try and bring back the old days of missions and we got a few players from Sals Badgehunters channel together and got a team going!
Just like the old days, 8 of us bruising the skulls, hellions and council in atlas park missions and then we moved into the Hollows to pummel some trolls and outcasts! I havent had so much fun in CoH for almost a year, if not longer...
My character currently got from 1-13 tonight and i plan to continue tomorrow night on Union server in the Hollows from 5pm GMT until i get to Atta, then we're gonna shift over to Faultline...
