I think any increase in PvP activity is good, so long as they don't develop an attitude problem, which can spoil a good fight, and stop their abaility to learn new stuff that might help them.

The main reason i've been happy to PL new players is because of the lack of high player base atm.
Yeah i powerlevel someone to 50. But after that what happens to them? They are new they don't wanna do it again, they wanna go beat stuff up on their new awesomeness 50. SO they try new things. Some will join Defiant Events (speaking from defiants point of view only) and others will go PVPing, and others will go do some missions, because on their awesomeness 50 they wanna be an awesomeness player.
So i think yeah its a great thing, as long as people are paitenet.
Would you rather go slow and help a few "noobs" out in PvPing for more PvP fights in the future if they enjoy it? (let them win sometimes, all about confidence)
Or would you rather not bother, tell them to level a character properly, and then have less overall PvP, ruining it for not only them, but you too in the long term not having much going on?

The good... More PvP'ers is fantastic and more the merrier.
Then the bad.... Like tonight, people coming in to RV without travel powers and saying that things are unfair because they die fast. They need to play the game first before attempting PvP.
Or the ones that come in talking smack about how good they are, calling everyone else rubbish and who show no respect to the experienced players.
Those kind we can do without thanks.

I find the influx of powerlevelled people in RV a good thing as there's a chance I get to beat them (powerlevelled villains) up with my pure empath build. And when done telling them how they should go about killing me.

In all seriousness on a taskforce i was on earlier the topic of arena came up and a few of the people never went near it because they didnt have a clue HOW to use it. Now that brought up a few startling thoughts to be honest.
1) There needs to be some sort of contact that introduces you to the arena. Just like the pvp zone contacts.
2) Arena channel needs to become a defeault channel. Took me months before i realised there was a channel for pvp/arena.
3) An actual reward for participating in an arena event. Like for winning a 10 minute match you get X amount of influence. Increases due to level/time limit increases obviously but would give a much better incentive.
PvP will never be as popular as it used to be until something drastic changes and everybody knows that [personally i think we need a mix of the old/new pvp system and it'ld be great]. But those things above will make arena at least turn the heads of a few people.

More awareness of the arena would be a good thing I think all there is now is a loading screen mentioning it. Ive always been against rewards for pvp though as it ends up with pvpers using pvp to gain things without doing pvp.
For instance if arena rewards were high enough to be an incentive then folk will just rig it up to farm. I remember in SC when players were screaming that they were there for badges and not for pvp and then screaming all the more when this resulted in them getting attacked all the more.
If we can attract folk to pvp, and most teams Ive ever joined there is always one person afterwards who accepts an arena challenge, then the reward of being able to pvp should be enough I think.
As I say every time I team with folk I ask if we can arena after and almost always someone is up for it, I would hate a day to go by without at least one arena fight, so the demand is certainly out there.

Good because the more pvpers there are the better. However there is a lot of trash talk and that of "im the greatest melee pvper ever" on union and i find that so amusing i may have just wet myself . . . . heart attack.

Kind of living in RV atm whenever im online lately and actually getting the odd bit of pvp (some bad but majority has been good), however seen some new players with level 50s that have (in their own words) been levelled in 2/3 weeks.
Now obviously they wont have any sort of skill as someone who played them for much longer or any sort of half decent slotting, so is this good or bad?
Good that more pvpers are slowly trying it out?
Or bad that they are trying it out with their skill level at the lowest and the possibilty of them not liking getting "owned" putting them off?
