Oh thats nothing! - My custom-made Office Belt™ replica arrived this morning and I was luckily able to don it before leaving for work this morning.

Riding my scooter (side-saddle as to show off the belt and buckle) I pulled up at some traffic lights alongside a coach with blacked out windows and a logotype that read 'Storm Model Management'. All of a sudden I became aware of muffled screams coming from inside and palms banging on the windows before the emergency door exit alarm went off and all these models clambered out and ran up towards me from the rear of the coach.
Luckily I was able to escape as the traffic lights went green and I sped off. I did put sufficient distance between myself and the pursuing horde, but was aware nonetheless that as I worked my way up through the traffic, that girls were still abandoning their boyfriend's cars to follow me. Further on a traffic Cop did intially signal me to pull over to investigate the cause of me bringing the traffic to a standstill... but on spying my Office belt™ his scowl turned to a smile and he complimented me before asking for my autograph.

So eventually made it to the office at 10:15am, the elevator ride was uncomfortable with several girls from accounts breathing huskily on my neck and pretending to drop pens and paper in-front of me before slowly gathering them back up while covertly spying my Office Belt™, it got real-old real-fast... but I bit my lip, let them have their fun and put up with the harrassment for the long ride to the top-floor of the office.

In the end the days turning out quite well. The lead-designer has been kicked out of his office and off his PC and I'm playing CoH on his 3D powerhouse of a rig. He's got my 5 year old-Dell and broken chair over by the window, he looks pretty upset and keeps looking out the window in despair as if he wants to jump, - I think I'll let him back on for a bit when I go for lunch.

More later, but it's been a great day so far.

Thanks Office Belt!™

Now that you're grammer has been corrected let me say I fail to see your logic there old boy. *puffs on ye olde pipe*

It's logical - our way of spelling and talking is the most recent form of English, so it's the correct one - it's like you don't talk like Shakespeare anymore, because you evolved from it to a more modern style - and that's just what we've done with English

By you're logic, then the correct form of english would be "txt" speak as it is more recent than American. Honestly, I've overheared sombody saying "lol". Almost made me want to club him to death.

Unless you're using time travel to get your language from the future, I don't think it's actually possible for modern American English to be more recent than modern British English. As you say, neither langage is the same now as when they start to diverge.

Totally awesome-like forms aside that are like soooo not Shakespeare and 'sick' aside...

Colloquialisms and fashionable slang aside (otherwise we'd all be talking like Snoop Dogg or in Text-Language) are not an evolution of the English Language any of us should endorse GG! - you're not serious about Americans evolving the English Language for the better are you? - really?

Well, language has to serve peoples needs, and as more people seem to use our version of English, then that kinda shows that our version is more suitable for them to express themselves.

So on the basis americans spell colour without a U, honour without a U, valour without a U, you're claiming american-english is better for people to express themselves? Wow that's stupid.

We invented the language so we decide how to spell things. We're the ENGLISH people. And just because your language is more recent than ours, (not) isn't anymore reason for people to use it.

And america isn't cultured, you were owned by the British and then the only thing you have going for you now is war, movies, and burgers, and being the fattest country on the planet.

If you want a cultured society, i suggest you study China, which has thousands of years of it.

Also, there is no 'correct' version of english, apart from ENGLISH english. Americans can claim what they want, it won't change anything.

If you want to call a language your own, and a correct version of it, i suggest you invent your own language, because most of us being european, you're not gonna win this one, so just leave it =)

Oh, and to TrueMetal, Britain's queen still controls Australia, so your version of english won't take precedence over ours either.

While I agree with a lot of your argument, some what you said was bordering on racism, which just isn't acceptable.

Moving onto a lighter note, most of the argument however lost it's oomph when you claimed that the Queen controlled Australia when she doesn't even in control England
