Posi did say during his Q & A session that they were looking at a graphical revamp, if it comes then it will probably not be a major change in order to allow people with older machines to run it.
Think in line with the level of graphical updates that were introduced in WoW 3.0.0. (Not lowering them to WoW levels but improving lots of small things to enhance the overall experience.)
The last time there was a graphics revamp it cam in when you had to buy an expansion pack. Oh what do you know an expansion pack has just been announced.
To be honest the graphics in CoX does stand up with other MMOs.One of the worst graphics of any MMOs surprisingly is Warcraft with its ludicrously short draw distance, spend any time in WoW and the limitations of the graphics engine really annoy.
The bloom and particle effects in CoX are fine, retouching the tired 5 year old textures would be nice even if they didn't change the structures just giving it a lick of paint would do wonders to Kings Row and Skyway.
Yeah, you got the idea Mister! I don't want a major overhaul, just a restyling if you will.
We have discussed this several times now ... It is almost getting old. That is... if it wasn't this da**ed neccisary for the survival of this game.
The gfx part of the engine is ok in most part... even if its 5 year old. What we need is...
- Revamp of textures... higher detail in walls/buildings. All windows reflecting and if possible more buildings open so you can enter. This will also help the dayjobs a lot.
- Revamp of city layout. Come on... the City looks like it was made of blocks. More variation in buildings... more neon lights... schools... supermarkets... gas-stations... fire-department... Stuff that is supposed to be in a city.
- Revamp of traffic. Realistic speed on the skyway highways. More cars... busses... taxi-cabs... bicycles... Give people some form of ai. Make them go to the shops and work in the morning... return from work in the late afternoon. School children... older people in the park... more birds...
and
- Higher details on toons (fingers, animated faces, no clipping of hair with capes etc.) *unlikely to happen as this is engine revamp*
All zones of the old game part need this... We get a new game part with the expension. But I expect attention to go back after that. When COV was released it was waay better then COH in the textures. And they gave the same textures to COH later on. But just a new texture update is not enough anymore. The city needs a better layout too. And we have waay too many buildings that are the same.

I agree with Liz, the graphics are fine. IMO if they improved the graphics it would take away the feel of the CoX we know and love but the buildings are bland.. And the grass is horribly done 
I think(hope) they may include a graphics update in Going Rogue ^^
Well tbh folks games in graphics are getting better, and upgrading your ancient computers is becoming NECESSARY.
Its already been said by positron there looking into a higher graphical setting at the minute. As usual no date or issue was mentioned.
Whether its an overhaul or just some shiny new textures I dont know.

Personally a dream come true would be using that nice expensive Aion engine they paid a fortune for to run CoH but that is really unlikely because it would cut off the people who can barely run the current system.
So that being said, adding an extra setting to the graphics slidy bar would make me happy ^^

Crappy is all some of us can afford, wether we like it or not. As soon as I can, I'll be getting the rig I've wanted for a long time. But, wow, lucky you, meanwhile you can still play at max graphics! Well done!

Well if anything was done, its unlikely it wont go without supporting the old system as well and just have an extra few settings for those with decent computers. Much like EQ2 did.
That being said, CoH is going to die out someday and if your pc can only handle minimum settings your not going to be able to find any new games that will play on it.

Well what's worth upgrading your rig for is subjective. Personally i usually don't play a game unless i can run it on full gfx smoothly. This is of course aside Crisis.

Now before any of you suggest people with CRAPPY (for lack of a bettter term) computers, let me say i'm just putting the suggestion in the open.
Here goes. Can we have a graphical overhaul PLOX!? I know it would take lots of man hours and design time that could be better spent on other things, but maybe when NCNC has some spare time and isn't nerfing things or ruining the game further.
I like the textures in the game, i already run it at full GFX with everything at 200% and all the AA and antisitropic filtering, but i want MOAR!!!!!!
Is there any possibility we can have uber HD and sharp textures rehashed for every surface/costume in the game? (i know this suggestion coming to life is a probably like 0.0000001 but still)
I think this game could compete with some of the big players out there in the eye-candy MMO ring even better if this happened.
I know it's unlikely to happen as it would take so much investment in design and human resources, and most people wouldn't even benefit because their PCs can barely run the game on moderate gfx settings, but it'd be nice.
