I'm pretty sure that someone (one of the smurfs IIRC) set up a farming channel a year or so ago for much the same reasons. It might still be going.
Can't recall the name of it though (as I never joined it).

That's a bit why I want a real farming channel since you don't have to know anyone, or remember any name to join.
A user defined channel could solve most of the same things, given that you had someone that was willing to announce it all the time until it has big enough following that it would keep going by it's own momentum.
Edit: Added last paragraph, since it might be worth doing, at least until we get a real one. Not by me though

Not guilty! We used to do our farming between us nice and quiet, no spamming no stress 
To the OP, theres that much farming going on now i cant believe anyone is having trouble finding a farming team, but if you are, give it a try, start a channel and see how you get on.

EDIT: Why would the devs put a real farming channel in-game when they're against it? The last thing they'll do is cater to the needs of farmers.

No, they are nuking aspects of the MA to stop excessively easy farming. Which is a tad different.
The Devs seem to me to accept Farming will occur, but are dead set against mission set-ups which take it to extremes (Family Map, Dreck and the various things in the MA).
I farm loads, but I would be against having a farm channel...
I'll take a shot in the dark and say that the OP is not a farmer and has had problems getting a farming team because they are a lvl 1 tank or something looking to be power leveled.
No one seems to be able to tell the difference any more...

But a channel full of lowbies shouting "FARM PLOX !" I would not thank you for it... And that is why the channels in the past have failed.

OK, let me try this again, let me rephrase, expand or simplify parts of my first post.
I assume that farming wont go away. If you don't agree with this and think that farming could and should be stamped out, go and start your own thread instead of insult people in this. This thread was not supposed to be pro- or anti-farming, it's was supposed to be about getting along.
So how do we get farmers and non-farmers to not get into each others face? The main thing that non-farmers seem to upset about farmer is the "Can you fill", "Will you join my farm" and the broadcasts that now has increased in Atlas Park to ridiculous levels.
So how do we reduce the amount tells and broadcasts? My suggestion was and is to give the farmers a way to find each other, that a non-farmer do not need to see. If I am a farmer, this would also be a good thing since people in the farming channel is here by choice, so the odds that they will respond favourable is bigger.
All this is based on the assumption that farming won't go away, so why not try and make the best of it for all people concerned.

I'd love to know where this definition is actually written up. You're the only person I know of who adheres to this definition.
Personally I'd say PLing is a subset of Farming, it's farming for XP rather than other rewards.
And the nature of how this game works when you are "PLing" you are also indirectly farming for drops or tickets too. PLing is just farming XP, that's all.
I'm all for it if it reduces spam from atlas, im just dubious that it will become a begging channel full of LVL 1 LFF etc.
Otherwise i would be happy to help make it succeed.
If I can help with a moderated channel where Begging is prohibitted then please tell me, and i will do it... but if people are unable to ask for PL in channel, they will revert to Atlas again.

I would like a real farming channel, just like the the arena chat and possibly search options like "Looking for farm team"
Reason for this is the assumption that farming wont go away, there will always be a fastest way to gain xp and/or influence(infamy) and there will always be people that want to use this.
So how do we make sure that those that farm don't bother others and vice versa? We help people that farm find each other so those that don't, don't have to listen to (read) "Looking farm team in Atlas EA, SK slot needed" in broadcast and those that want to farm don't have to listen to "Keep quiet u n00b, play the game for real" in the same channel. No sending of 30 tells to various people you don't know just seeing if they want to join your farm team, or if you can join theirs.
All of which would reduce friction between players, which is a good thing in my book. This is as I started the post with based on the assumption that there will always be farming, so let's make the best of the situation for all parties involved.
