yeah that was what the new patch this morning did it seems (it had no notes), XP boosters have a chance to drop from alien NPCs now, I actually didn't realise until someone told me I had 7! They are hidden in "consumables" of backpack (press B)

also red weapons and armour (the second best apart from purple which can be modified) are dropping as regular things now, as well as pets (again in consumables for some reason though they are permnant) which I guess were originally going to be veteran rewards like on Co

gangrel, apparently the developers named one of the red swords after you according to someone on general chat!!

Downloaded the client and installed it, not made a char yet, but i'm guessing i will use SapphicNeko as name, or perhaps Quilvess. I'm pretty certain neither of those will be taken when i get home

What lvl do the careers divide? 5, 15, 30?

Going to use the hyper xp boosters tonight and see how high i can get.

1 evening? If you can start straight with red weapons and the xp booster lvl40 isnt far away in 1 evening

(i did 18 to 35 in about 1,5 hour).

I thought the free-to-play was very time limited, that they'd close the game totally pretty soon. Am I wrong?

Rather tired of everything at the moment, so would be fun to give it a go, unless it's about to shut down totally pretty soon.

End of the month I think. And given the massively overpowered boosts they're giving to everyone now I'd assume its for good. Can't see anyone taking over the reins where every char is level 40 and kitted out to the max.

The game has actually been free to play since before christmas....

That was the official info - but after saying that they apparently changed their minds and it was, as Gangrel says, free from well before Christmas. IIRC they didn't make an official statement that it was free earlier than previously announced though.

over on gangrel's forum (the semiofficial TR forum since there is no official one) someone made a good post http://tabularasa.gangrel.me.uk/index.php?topic=2612.0

i've been trying to get ppl to do the same, so at least there's some record of how good it was and so a warning for future on mismanaging online games...I think the lack of marketing from NCsoft killed it (something I've seen several other people echo) really since because of that people only had the critics to go to for information... like I said I would've bought it if had been a free trial advertised to join and see!

Yep. Exactly the same that happened with this game. There was very little advertising for it, and that's why we're as small as we are.

But I think it's fair to say it's a bit late to market now, almost 5 years past and 2 brand new superhero MMOs will come out soon. We can't keep up the trick that there is no other superhero MMOs on the market, because there will be more than one, very, very soon.

Righty I think I'm going slightly off topic thar so let's get back onto TR, shall we? Me, personally? I signed up for beta, didn't get in, and then from then, didn't look at TR. I was cuddled up into CoX. It's sad to see it go, yes, but I think it was inevitable.

Played it a little today. The game is silly atm, i have weapons at level which do like 30000 dmg (my starting pistol did like 60). Also got armor with such silly amounts of armor and regen i'm pretty much winwincible. It's kinda fun to just mow down everything, but also no challenge.

Anyway my name in game is Neko Sapphic (Sapphic being the surname). Currently lvl 16 i think, not bad for 2 hours of dilyl dallying around also didn't find a xp boost until i hit 10 or so ><

Aye the redname armour/weapons are extreme... but they are also not level limited (and also just got introduced in the most recent "farewell" patch)

Eventualy, the red weapons are equal to blue-ish lvl50 weapons, so they are not like uberpowered. I think they just want many to hit 50, so at least they do can see glimps of the end-content as it now (earth baby!!).

I cant log in Keeps getting stuck on the loading screen with "Acquiring Data" at the bottom, but doesnt take me into the game. Hmm, wasnt doing this last night.

Well they are extreme, in that they are usable by players of ANY level instead of just being level limited. ((and yes, that does mean you can have 48K worth of armour as a new character one shotting all the low level mobs))

Anyway, will be online later on tonight/tomorrow as i am currently taken up in another game :S

yeah just don't wear/use the red stuff if you're not intending on rushing through cos it's basically level 50 stuff that's had level requirement removed

I am hoping i can find me a full set of that sarah morrigan stuff Her armor looked so keen in the intro.
