Why is Trick Arrow so hated for Masterminds?
I have it on 2 MMs. It can be disliked depending on what your playing the game for I guess.
Powersets only matter for concept to me and other than that I don't care what toon I am on or if teaming with people, what they're on either. How you play them is the main thing. I do make mistakes but its important for me to find out if it is something I did that was wrong than assume somit with the set is wrong first.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
TA is an amazing set, i don't see why it would be disliked. The aoe slows, -res and -def debuffs will make it very easy for your minion to steamroll.
It's hated because people are stupid and complain about the lack of Healing Arrow.
The only think i can think off, redraw. But stacking -res, -def, slow, i love it Now if they ever would make a patron pool for bows, i would be very happy.

These were pretty much my thoughts also, would be nice if there was some -regen in there...but we can't have everything.
So i'm going ahead with my original plan of a Ninja/TA and a /Poison will have to wait till we get some more primaries.
Cheers peeps.
There is some but not in a very usable form

Yup, only EMP can afaik, but duration is short and recharge is too long to actualy use it efficiently. I dont solo AV's anyway, EB is possible with enough damage output anyway.
And in worse case, i believe a nukerocket also give -regen.

Or, it might be because pets dont like Oil slick and tend to go crazy if they have to enter it. Tried a Ninja/TA and had no choice but to respec out of Oil slick, the by far best power in the set...

This is a major problem and I'm amazed they haven't fixed it yet. It's not only masterminds pets that are affected by this, any pet runs a mile from a burning oil slick. My controller had a fun time with her imps scattered to the four (well ok, three) winds every time an oil slick appeared.

I personally only complain about a lack of Cotton Budded Clear Mind arrow.

Really, really annoying when you're playing the Trick Arrow doing the scattering of the imps too. Horrible knowing one of your best powers is going to cause all sorts of problems for team mates (since they tend to scatter in random directions).
What actually happens anyway? And does it not happen all the time? I used to team a Trick Arrow user daily for a short while on my Thugs/Dark - he was unable to light his own slick so my Arsonist handled that for him, and the stacked burn patches were nice. But my pets never seemed to go bananas from the burning slick.

If the pet / henchie is standing on the burning slick they'll scramble to get out of it (They''ll become Afraid).
For Thugs it wouldn't be too bad since you're mostly ranged (only the Bruiser would be really affected), my Grav/TA is basically unaffected too for the most part (although sometimes Singy is on the burning patch and does a cannonball through the spawn to get out knocking them everywhere).
With i12 (I think) the situation was improved a bit as now once the fire goes out pets will return into it (beforehand it took a few minutes for them to pluck up the courage to go back into the burnt area).
Because of the pet bug on my Fire/TA I now hate the set so much I wont play it. Am happy to team it but I think its a joke that Issue 5 brought us a set which is broken 8 Issues later and still no sign of being fixed

Yeah, it depends on what you pair it with. I'm barely really aware of the issue on my Ill/TA, since PA are immune and the phant hangs back anyway.
It's caused by the code that supposed to make mobs run away from the fire also affecting pets. (many procs also affect pets when they originate from a pet emitter). Removing the fear code would probably make the slick to powerful, since mobs would just stand there and burn to death.
I really should do something about this signature.
Why hasn't this still been fixed. All they need to do is remove the fear code from Henchmen and Player Pets. Job done.

Scrapyarders and their ilk?
I know mentioning the power makes Castle sob like a little girl so for some reason it seems to be more complex than that (no idea why though)

The fear code isn't in the pets, it's in the power.

Could you give Pets Afraid resistance?
Other than Caltrops and burny patches I don't think I've ever seen anyone use an Afraid mez on pets anyway
Actually why don't pets also flee your Caltrops / Hotfeet / Rain of Stuff powers?
So how would it work with bots or mercs that prefer ranged? Would be really nice since mm's get immobs in their patrons.

Really well. If you've pets with Ranged Damage it's a beast of a power. Even without an immob since you've a -Run Speed in it plus a -Run Speed in Glue Arrow (a fairly huge one too). It's like a vicious version of a Rain of... power.
And the Assult Bot can light it for you (but I'd still go Tech or magic origin so you can light it yourself. Was teamed with a TA Defender during the week who wasn't Tech / Magic and had no way of lighting their own slicks, which must be really annoying).

Yes, but thet would make them immune to all fear effects.

The burn patch is a pet spawned by a pet though*, which makes it work more like procs do.
*there are actually 3 pets involved in Oil Slick. the first pet has the KD and -def effects, the second pet is the player targetable canister, which should summon the third pet, the burn patch, when destroyed, which is where the power tends to go pear shaped.
I really should do something about this signature.

It'd make them immune to all Afraid effects, not necessarily Terrorized (aka "Stand there quivering" ones).
I'm not sure that'd be a bad thing, except for vs Scrapyarders. And I think only Villains 20-30 meet scrapyarders so only Henchies would be affected there and you can order them to move.
There's more mobs in the game with burn patches besides just Scrapyarders, you know. I swear Longbow Flamethrowers spam them merrily as well (the Ignite power, no?), and you face those a lot.
Basicly, I think i've fallen in love with MMs...currently working my way through all the primaries, only having a Ninja left to try.
So i've decided to roll a Ninja/?...first secondary that springs to mind for me was TA (due to the primary having a bow), but seem to remember people moaning about it. Now I have a TA fender in the late 40s and have really enjoyed playing it...problem being that it lacks damage (TA/A) and thought that the melee from ninjas would be the perfect partner.
Just wanna find out why people hate the TA set for MMs...or even if people like it.
