Valkyrie Nerf

Just had to help a friend fight Positron and Valkyire on Villains.

Positron seems to gain a huge defence bonus when he's at low health. Anyone else had that problem?
The MAIN problem is that Valkyrie uses the old version of MoG (Moment of Glory). Now, while it might have been a bit pants on Players, its a proper Godmode when applied to even and Elite Boss. On Hero lvl its almost less noticeable, as you EXPECT Hero level foes to be really tough.
But as an EB, solo, Valkyrie is HORRIBLE. Even duo'ed, shes a real terror. Im not often one for suggesting changes to make things 'easier', per se, but that mission is on a timer, and given how ludicrously tough valkyire becomes, and the legth of time that power lasts, I strongly suggest something is done =/

[/ QUOTE ]Working as intended, Positron has a godmode power named [Overcharge] (which in itself is a clone of [Overload], or maybe the other way around), and will use it when his health drops too low.

Leave the challenging mobs alone please (and if you think Valkyrie EB is tough, try Statesman EB in the VEAT arc).

I really should do something about this signature.

Also really depends on what char you're doing em on.

Anti-Matter was hard as heck as a shield scrapper, but Positron was silly easy as a elec armor brute.
(they're essentially the same).

Twas using a Bots/FF MM and a Crab Spider, both lvl 41, with lvl 42 EBs.

/FF doesn't offer much against EB/AVs and Crabs are supposed to be AoE oriented.

Thats still a hell of a lot of defense, and both sets of Crab pets, so a lot of firepower, all buffed. It still shouldnt have been that ludicrously difficult, to the point of frustration, IMO.

There seems to be a lot of randomness in the way these AV's and EB's activate their powers. Look at Hero 1 for instance, sometimes he goes down without a murmur, other times his health gets low and he repeatedly activates his god mode and regenerates all of it in no time at all. After he's done that a few times in a row it gets tedious and annoying.

My point exactly. When we fought Valkyrie, we managed to floor her with far less trouble than Positron. But then up she bounces from her rez, and THEN came the god-mode. I don't MIND them having god-modes, you expect it, even, but it lasted for something like quarter of an hour...maybe less, but thats what it felt like.

I always find her terribly boring to fight during those times. Something more fun to fight against would get my vote.

If you complete the other mission objectives first, that mission completes the first time Valkrie goes down, so you don't have to defeat her twice.

Or two minutes.

The only time I fought her I put my dark miasma -acc (can't remember the name at the moment) on her and stopped attacking till her "HAHA I WIN" power ran out. Then I kicked her all round the level. The god mode EBs really do suck the fun out of a mission.

Venom grenades were in constant use, as was ever other possible power to hit her with.
And no, Praf, the Mission didnt complete. It was Defeat Valkyrie, and even though she went down once, the mission didnt compelte.
Anyway, I dont think you get the exp until she stays down? Cant remember now.

It worked for me. I expect that whilst is says "defeat Valkyrie" you also need to defeat the minions that spawn with her.

Think she gives xp twice, like Freakshow.

This is true. And, actually, there were a few left over when she went down first time. We were more concerned with pummeling her before she God-moded.
...Can she fire that thing off twice? Once before rez and then once after?

Apparently not, she's coded to use it right after [Rise of the Valkyrie], as far as I know.

I solo'ed Positron and Valkyrie with my MM Robotics/FF fairly easily by taking them one at a time not to mention synapse, aeon, mynx etc...etc..etc.. (only oe of those clowns i havent fought is Statesman, but if he is onpar with Recluse he shouldnt be too bad)

The only signature hero ive been unable to beat so far was a guy called the Woodsman, he absolutely annihilated me every time without failt, going through my pets like a scythe through grass.. and thats when he didnt ignore them completely and focus only on me (which was most of the time). He used spirit tree and healed ridiculously fast, had pets, had an awesome melee attac, threw rcks and moved like hewas speed boosted permanently..

Masterminds are pretty awesome for taking down EB's though the Woodsman i suspect needs a brute to keep him busy and off you long enough to blast him to component atoms.

What level was that then? Because we were running the mission on basic difficulty, IIRC, the EB was only a level higher than us, in both cases. And we DID fight them one at a time. They still had the AV style resistances, though, due to the purple triangle aura of theres being present.
I dunno. it did just seem exceptionally hard. A point to note is, my frined had already run the mission a few times. I got roped in to help him, so they were set to solo difficulty only. I just dont get why it was so obnoxiously hard.

The purple triangles make any downgraded AV difficult on my dom (lots of purple insps needed), but as I said, I've soloed Valkyrie a without any difficulty with my bane. Positron? Didn't bother to fight him in that mission, he is not part of the mission objective.

I think you where probably just having an off day.

Am I the only person here who can't solo an EB with my MM then? Every time she gets near an EB, the pets are wiped out instantly closely followed by running away or a faceplant. I've never seen a pet survive more then one hit against any EB. She's a necro/poison MM, fine in teams but when soloing, a hard hitting mob just cuts the pets down like they weren't there.

Last one I tried was Ghost Widow. I tried sending pets in first, they got wiped out in one hit. I then tried debuffing the EB first, that got me wiped out instantly instead. Can't see how it's possible without a bucketful of purple inspirations for each pet and the MM. Pity it's not possible to carry that many...

Oh, tried Ghost Widow on my fire/rad controller a few weeks later as well. Exactly the same result, though she has managed some other 'minor' EB's in the past.

Did you try debuffing the EB first while in bodyguard mode?

My Necro/Dark eats has beaten a fair few EBs, including Posi who was actually surprisingly easy for me for some reason. Generally I'd open with Fluffy debuff or a suicide zombie attack (& Soul Extraction) followed by throwing every ToHit debuff I and my Lich have at them. The pair of knights is then usually pretty good at scrapping them while Fluffy and I spam-heal and debuff.

Ghost Widow did unpleasent things to my Fire/Rad controller, although it was a fairly prolonged fight with a fair chunk of it spent with me running away trying to kite her and seperate her from the huge spawn she had beside her. I reckon if I'd reset the mish to heroic I'd take her out.

I was about to say, no you aren't, but then I read what sets your MM has... and it doesn't surprise me at all: mine, too, is a Necro/Poison... she tasted floor so much she could write a whole thesis on the subtextures of carpeting and other ground coverings... 'nuff said.
