It's not a matter of reading the EULA. Its a case of simple manners. If you are new somewhere, and you say something that clearly annoys/offends people, you apologise, you don't continue to argue.

This is almost certainly not a new player, but someone who has had thier previous account banned, and is using a free trial under a different name to come back and cause trouble.

A nice community doesn't start with a flame war the moment a newbie shows up with legitimate concerns. Even if you truly disagree with him. Yes what he said is being discussed many many times before by us. So he is entitled to have his view. If you don't feel like arguing, give him a link to one of the older threats instead.

If somebody is new and says something that makes you feel offended, give him some slack and tell him why you feel offended.

About the OP post.

Yes I am worried as well. But whatever happens in the future, right now i am playing a nice well developed game with developers who try to squeeze every last drop of goodiness out of that 'old' engine. If Cryptic still was the boss, we wouldn't have had any new stuf to play with. Simply because they are more interested in developing new games then to spend effort in making an excisting game better. They would have left a skeleton crew to guard us and this game would have been truly dead right now. Which tells me a lot about what cryptic thinks of their customers.

Sure, we as 'community' can make a change, but 'we' couldnt stop the closure of Brighton, we couldnt stop rednames to leave, we cannot control the future of CoH. Is our call being heard by the NC staff oversea? I doubt it. Yes, something is wrong on the EU side, but no it wont die, neither i forsee NC will do anything about this.

Just accept and enjoy the ride. Specialy as we are the 'vocal minority' in this game, (nofi) just as long NC keep having a healthy US server they care little about the EU server.

But you cant blame them, they got 2 major titles comming, they had a few flaws and cant risk anyother one.

No one here has expressed hatred of Cryptic. People have merely doubted that the game is about to die. They think you are just trolling.

Firstly, I understand you concerns that CO and DCUO may kill off CoX, but I wouldnt worry for two reasons: 1) NCSoft know what's coming. They knew when they bought CoX, if they didn't think they could compete they wouldnt have wasted their money. 2) If CO is CoX2 as you call it, and better as you suggest, then so what if CoX dies, there will be the better "sequel" out there to play

Myself, I think option 1 is more likely. I would also disagree with your view that "most of the cox fans hate ncsoft" since I have seen little evidence for such an opinion.

What makes you think we don't understand it? It's quite possible we have a far better understanding of what will happen than you, you know. Ever considered that you're wrong?

Sure, CO is what would originally have been CoX 2, which then became MUO, and then CO; but that does NOT mean it would be better. Jack Emert showed time and again with CoX that he isn't interested in what the players want to see, and that's going to continue in CO as well, count on it.

As for NCSoft just "keeping CoX alive". Look at the updates since Cyptic left the picture, look at all the QoL changes we've had since. Hell, if Jack were still in charge, we STILL wouldn't have the real numbers... NC are investing large amounts of money in the game, but these things take time before they become readily apparent. 2009 is going to be a BIG year for CoX, you'll see.

Right now, people are doom mongering because it's been a long gap between updates, pretty much the longest actually... Of course that's not a good thing, but things WILL pick up soon.

Serious, go check the gameplay movies on youtube of CO, it's nowhere near CoX alone.

(and just like GW2, nobody knows what they are doing with CoX atm. Maybe they are building a CoX2 engine, you dont know).

Since they bought the IP, they got freedom in the engine. They make things that cryptic never wanted, never did.

I don't hate Cryptic. I don't hate NCSoft.

I like this game and it is still getting improved as we speak. The new games are yet untested. They could be better they could be a flop. The future will tell.

In the meanwhile I am enjoining this game as it will take many many more months before one of them is ready to be tested.

As a father to an 16 month old I can confirm this. Ducks certainly quack. If you need to know any other farmyard sounds let me know, I've become an expert (its bizarre really, we live in the middle of Dublin. The only sound the ducks/pigs/lambs/cows we meet make is a gentle sizzle as I fry them).
