Cellphones for Brokers/Detectives
Yes!
Nothing more annoying then having your last mission on the west side of Port Oaks, then having to trek all the way to Drea the Hook, only to have to trek all the way back to the far west end of the map AGAIN ... before you get any chance of having a travel power

Yes, its baffling that a "Broker" doesn't seem to be able to afford a mobile phone.
They fear the police could triangulate their position... but then again, it's the Rogue Isles... and the police officers in Paragon have the same problem... yes, yes, give them their mobile phones already!
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

He's so good at his job he's broke... that's why he's working with no marks straight out of Mercy.
No!
With the exception of the Port Oakes broker. You only have to see him once for each zone. When you go to do the bankjob you dont need him to get the newspapaer missions after all. Is it that much to ask for to visit an NPC once? So I say no. Every contact has the right to be visisted at least once. If only to check you out in person.

I agree, you should visit them at least once.
The problem is that often you've to see them more than once, to open up new contacts, or refuse a Bank Mission the second / third / fourth / ad nauseum time so you can continue with Paper missions. Its all those extra visits which get old very fast. As well as the fact when you finish a Bank Mission you've to visit them again to complete it.
Especially in PI with that idiotic indoors Detective
If you change it from after you have done the first big heist (mayhem mission) you get the phone. But never before that one then I am (reluctantly) in favour.
Even if I think that we should not encourage people to do newspaper jobs all the time.

Maybe after doing one bank mission for them, they'll let you call them for any further ones?

Maybe it's broken?
The broker broke it.
Or maybe the broker's just broke.

I can live with that. Of course in a new zone you will have to prove yourself again.
It's not really that bad the first time. But it gets moderately ridiculous when I've robbed the PI bank for Wiggy the Brit like 30 times now and I still have to run to him, then to an Arachnos Flyer on the other side of the map outside of the Grandville walls, and then back to him again to report on my success.
Two tin cans and a bit of string if they can't afford a phone...
I agree that its daft. ESPECIALLY in high level zones.
Anyway, you DO have to see them at least once. You have to go get the radio/latest paper...once is more than enough, thank you!
And, at lvl 50, when you busted the world so hard you might have chipped a mecha-digit, theres not much else to do OTHER than paper missions
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

You are wrong there. Once you have activated the newspaper/radio you dont have to see a broker to activate them in a new zone.
So the only reason to see them is when you do a bank job.

...Afaik you have to go see them. Although that may be just Heroes. Cos I know you need to go to each detective to get the Police band for that zone. Villains? Maybe you dont...if thats the case, they need to fix that, and then, in hte best case, add a mobile/etc. IMO

I am 100% sure villains dont need to do that. I leveled plenty of villains and you need the brokers to get contacts so newspaper missions are essential there.
I've never had to get new police bands or the latest 'papers.

Please? It's nothing more than an inconveience that we have to trek across the zone to the broker just to get (or even turn down!) the bank mission, and again after finishing it.
Would be so much nicer if we could just call them like a normal contact. Maybe after doing one bank mission for them, they'll let you call them for any further ones?
