Best Scrapper Build For Damage?
+ Spines/ for most AoE damage
+ MA/ for most Single-Target damage in a short period of time (fast 'spike' attack chain)
+ Broadsword/ for most Single-Target damage in one single attack (Headsplitter)
+ Claws/ for most Single-Target damage over time (chain using 'Follow Up')
+ Dark/ for the least resisted damage type (most damaging versus foes with high-resistance)
Can u remind me what AoE means? also can scrappers deal damage to mobs not just single foes?
AoE = Area of Effect. As-in "damage over a wide area".
Most of the scrapper primaries have some form of cones/AoE damage, Spines + Dual-Blades are the best.
Have you considered the idea of playing a blaster instead if what you really want is deal raw heavy damage?
How do you want to play? Do you want to see whole groups of evil doers beaten or a tough single evil doer?
Do you want to be able to stand face to face to them or bounce in and smash him to the ground before he smashes you?
face to face would be a scrapper, bounce in and smash him one before he smashes you would be a blaster.
Also, some powers in the blaster sets are actually punches and close up hits.
i would like to see whole mobs beaten, i dont know why i just feel satisfied when i bounce in and smash a whole mob causing extreme damage i already have a blast but would like to make a scrapper thats deals immense damage over a group...
Well spince/dark is your PBAOE combo although I wouldn't recomend it for a new player though.
If you want to jump in and see big numbers, make a broad sword scrapper, maybe regen as the secondary although willpower also works quite well. BS has two PBAOE attacks which can hit everything in an 8 or 10' circule, it has two huge damage attacks oe of which has a small cone (can hit targets 5 or 8' infront, 20degree arc) and a few other attacks.
As for blasters, elec/fire is flavor of the month for the shere number of PBAOE attacks and having one my self I would say that having 4 PBAOE attacks by lvl 12 is most amusing (although you may bee a pet rezzer....)
I'd recommend willpower over regen to any new player...
I'm levelling a broadsword/willpower scrapper, and at level 42 I have to say it's the easiest one I've tried - even easier than my Fire Tank (I deleted a broadsword/dark armour at 19, hated it: total Endurance hog).
I have a spines/regen at 46, it's lot of fun to jump into a group and let rip, but if I were to do it again, I'd go willpower - its a real 'fire-and-forget' secondary, lets you concentrate on hitting stuff.
AFAIK The SCrapper primaries go:
Spines
Dual Blades
Claws
Broadsword/Katana
Dark Melee
Martial Arts
With Spines being the most AoE heavy, and Martial Arts being the least.
It should be noted that Spines is head and shoulders above anything else in terms of AoE. If you want the highest damage scrapper in teams, Spines is the only way to go.
As far as secondaries go, Dark Armour is the only set that causes damage (and its AoE).
Unfortunately, SPines and Dark Armour are both extreme endurance drainers (not suprising given the huge AoE effects they dish out). The combination is not to be recommended unless you a) regularly team with a Kinetics Defender/Controller, or b) can invest a lot (i do mean a lot) of influence on invention enhancements.
For this reason, Spines/Regen and Spines/Willpower are both quite popular as both Regen and Willpower give extra endurance, meaning Spines is more playable.

I have a BS/DA scrapper @ lvl 27 and must say that I have no real end issues unless you get into a real prolonged fight and have to use dark regen twice.
Otherwise its all down to slotting, spamming parry and knwoning which shields you need to run against which mobs (oh and don't run death shroud most of the time....)
The 1st char I ever made was a BS/DA, I know what you mean about the end problem. I ended up leaving that char at 16 for ages, then went back to him & he was my 1st char to hit 50.
At high levels BS/DA can be great fun to play but I wouldn't recommend to a new player.
Dual Blades can be a fun power to play. For damage I'd say Spines or Claws. As a secondary I'd say Regen or Willpower because of the increased endurance.

Defenders - Lucifer - Bound. Peacebringers - Xtream Justice. Masterminds - Xtream Malfunction. SoA - Arachnid Lord
Come i12, /fire might be the secondary of choice if you want to build for damage. Fire/fire or dual blades/fire would be my recommendations for rather tasty aoe damage.

Spines/Fire for AoE, Claws/Fire for ST damage. Stacked Follow-Up + Fiery Embrace = Pwn!
(assuming Fiery Aura will come with Fiery Embrace, that is)

I must admit I've been thinkiong of Claws/Fire

Id agree there, Spines is FAR in excess of any other primary in terms of AoE damage.
/Fire vs /Dark... I'd guess fire has the edge: Combutsion/Burn/Blazing Aura vs Dark Regen/Dark AoE toggle (fortget its name). But it depends on the whole "Burn/Fear" issue. /Dark can throw a damage proc in CLoak of Fear.
There be no burn/fear issue with Dark Mastery (TT ftw). I think Burn is totally skipable for a Spines/Fire. The AoE damage is just too good already. For a Claws/Fire/Dark it's a whole different story. Excellent ST damage and pretty good AoE with TT+Burn.

Well I'm sorry but I have never tried Spines so thought it best not too comment on things i don't know about. Next time i won't bother posting opinions.

A little off topic, but if you go with an elec/elec blaster and go for a blapper build you do rather well. My blapper got to level 25 in only 7 days. And that wasn't non-stop playing.
Hi there, relatively new to game, taken an interest to scrappers as ive found i like damage dealing So can any 1 please tell me what build to choose that will deal most damage,
Thanks
