We've all been believing (better to say rather fruitlessly hoping for) that for a loooooooong time now...
And at first glance a few quick words about your powerpicks without delving into slotting:
-Take sup invis earlier, it's very good (could very well swap around with ice arrow)
-take flash, no proper trolling without your AoE hold
-hasten at 49 is a shame, you want it around 30 at the latest (can take ss pool instead of fly to solve this easily, unless you're dead set on fly for concept reasons)
-drop med pool, it's really a waste of powers for you
Have fun, even with that idiot oilslick bug they refuse to fix

Here's my current build (wishful with the IOs) for my 50 Ill/TA. It is based loosely around PvP in Sirens, but PvEs wonderfully. Low damage, but in teams it rocks (especially in long fights).
Don't worry about medicine pool as said. Combat hover is great for this set. Allows best placing of arrows, spectral terror etc... Spectral Terror/Glue Arrow will be your best friend, I prefer to six slot spectral terror. 2acc, 2fear, 2end. You'll use spectral terror so much that the end use it has will be a problem without slotting.
Only problem I have with ill/ta is setting alight my oil slick, but phanty often does the job for you.
You only need two recharge in disruption arrow. Three recharges in oil slick if possible. I also like to have slows in glue arrow.
This current build has taken me a while to come to and I don't recommend it for lvling. You'll need spectral wounds early on certainly, and flash might be useful. At high lvls though, this build is great fun!

Well each his own taste, but flash works differently from spec terror for your trolling.
Spec terror is a very nice control tool indeed, but no stacking multiple holds quickly, no containment setup, and the way fear works is absolutely no total lock down like an Aoe hold (made worse with ill lacking an AoE immob) especially with all the pets agroing constantly agroing the mobs out of fear
Having both spec terror and flash greatly enhances your trolling abilities. Better not leave home without both, but take flash in the 20's after SO's. And fire trollers do best to take both cinders and flashfire too.
I'm not saying Flash isn't good to have. It's just that Illusion/TA seems like a ranged type troller to me. I'd stick with PA, Spectral Terror and Emp Arrow to "control" the mobs at range.

Ok looked at your advice and made another build. Still have fly/hover there and 3 flight speeds in hover/swift. Removed medicine and spectral wounds in favour of assault/tactics/veng.

Will be magic origin, but as far as I'm aware the magic temp power will be able to light it too, right? And if not I hope phantasm will do it
I could make it tech if this was not the case, however.

Magics fine, my TA is magic (although I generally use fire to light it but have tested with the origin power)

A couple of minor coments:
Glimpse of the Abyss: chance of psi damage absolutely rocks in spectral terror.
I don't have problems with the pets fleeing from oil slick. Perhaps because PA can't be affected by anything, and the Phant is ranged and doen't tend to be near the slick anyway.
You don't need to put either an endrec or a recred in Acid arrow, it doesn't stack with itself so you don't need to keep firing it off, so it doesn't use much end. You could throw in a Posi's blast: chance of energy damage proc in Acid Arrow if you have a spare slot.
Damage procs can also be fun in glue arrow.
I really should do something about this signature.

*nods*
It's great if you have the slots, but if you don't have them to spare, and also with TA's range and the ability to stay at vertical range from mobs with combat hover means flash is rarely used. I used to not like so called soft holds and concentrated on 'proper' holds. But these days I find glue arrow, spectral terror and/or PA to do the job just fine. Tbh, I use PA and EMP arrow reasonably rarely. Only when things go to pot. Spectral terror, glue arrow, then spam blind and ice arrow plus all your wonderful TA powers on the boss
Just wish I had the 'cash' for all the wonderful IOs.
The build looks good. Don't agree with hasten, but then I never take hasten on any of my toons. I'd still level the toon with spectral wounds and flash to start with though. Respec later on. Plus you'll have a better idea yourself what feels right for you.
Yeah, I agree about Flash. respeced it out long ago. Ill/TA works best at a distance.
I really should do something about this signature.

I'm an old skool troller myself, but can see where you coming from and i have to admit you could do without Flash on a ill/TA indeed being very much ranged geared. Especially when you have hover as travel which is very slow movement thus making it a lot harder to dip in and out quickly to do a well placed Flash. I'm a SS (and hasten) lover, so that (as also does sj) makes life much easier.
And later on you get the lovely EMP arrow for a ranged AoE hold to substitute. Still imo it won't be bad to take Flash for the earlier lvls till you get the other AoE control juice.
Yes I'm going to try flash when I level up. That's only the lvl 50 respec build. If anyone has an idea for a leveling up build please post it I still dont have any experience with these sets so others are most likely to do better level up builds than me

With my TA I went for hover, really helped seeing more of the fight for some of the TA powers. As such I didn't take cinders so I can see why people would be doing the same for flash
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
What I would say build wise for lvling is take spectral wounds and flash. Don't worry about assualt and tactics so much. Prioritise illusion powers, but get glue arrow, ice arrow, oil slick arrow and disruption arrow when you can.
Deceive is a great extra 'control' early on. Don't listen to anbody who berates you for its use. You use it...they stay alive and potentially get through mobs faster If you think you can spare the slots, go down the conbat hover route, otherwise spec it in later
Basically just enjoy
[ QUOTE ]
I don't have problems with the pets fleeing from oil slick. Perhaps because PA can't be affected by anything, and the Phant is ranged and doen't tend to be near the slick anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure I've seen PAs flee Slicks.
The American boards report it happening too.
Both Phantasm & PAs are ranged though so at least they'll still fire.
Wouldn't really bother with Posi's Blast in Acid Arrow either, the tiny AOE doesn't really make it worthwhile.
TA is ranged, as is Illusion mostly, with the exception of Flash so I'd probably skip it
Ok so far good advice, now if anyone could make me a leveling up build I'd be forever in their debt

Decided to roll an illu/TA controller now that with I11 bow can get some quite good looking skins..
I'd like to know about this build is it any good? I'm not going to do any PvP with this, just PvE.
This is the build I made with Mid's builder a few minutes ago. The slots in hover/swift are there for combat movement if you wonder..
