    Plant/Rad?

You can get some better slotting on Roots. It's going to eat your end, plus dmg procs in roots are great especially since you should be spamming it. Try the following:

    Level 2: Roots -- DblAc-Acc/EndRdx(A), Enf'dOp-Acc/EndRdx(7), TotHntr-Acc/EndRdx(9), TotHntr-Dam%(11), Posi-Dam%(11)

    Plant/Rad?

This is how I slot creepers on my plant/rad:

    Level 26: Carrion Creepers -- RechRdx-I(A), EndRdx-I(27), Posi-Dam%(33), ImpSwft-Dam%(36), TotHntr-Dam%(43), ExStrk-Dam%(46)

I've got it more than perma thanks to perma hasten/am.

Full build can be seen here: http://handprints.phpbbhosts.co.uk/v...=2616&start=10

I've also got near perma mez protection from the psi epic pool power, which is just awesome against those Rikti.
  3. No problem. All depends on your focus I guess. I'm not a fan of soloing and I can get some great teaming done with my SG.

If you're going for damage then you'll definitely want Oil Slick arrow up as much as possible. Try frankenslotting it if you don't need the set bonus (see my slotting), and I recommend using a keybind for one key (I use "V") that targets the oil slick on the first press and activates fire ball on the second. If you've shot the oil slick in the middle of the mob then fireball is going to hit most of the mob, if not all.
  4. Good to hear there are more Ill/TA converts out there.

Played an Ill/TA for a very long time now (i7 I think)(was my very first character and my first 50) and I've come to the following build which gives soft-capped ranged defense and about 30% AoE defense. I find I don't need uber recharge on this toon.

She's great fun to play and the build is reasonably cheap (compared to some crazy builds out there). Generally I find myself throwing out glue arrow, oil slick (when available and lit by throwing fire ball at it), disruption arrow and a spectral terror before acid arrowing the boss and insta-holding him with ice arrow and blind. This locks down mobs quite nicely - tbh I rarely need to use PA, and only do where a big alpha needs taking or I want more dmg (for an AV for example). Very much a team orientated toon this (don't expect to do lots of dmg) and works well with both large mobs and AVs

  5. I've been with the Handies for about eight months and if at any point I'd thought the Handies were farming I would have left.

The prestige total that the Handies have, both red and blue side, is representative of what the Handies community is. That amount of prestige was earned because the Handies community is made up of many like-minded people who enjoy playing the game regularly together. In this respect prestige is actually doing the job that I like to think it was designed for: giving an indication of how active a SG is - for active read: regular, varied, and (above all) fun.

This SG is not 5 sad individuals farming prestige until they have the most. This SG is many great people playing a game they enjoy together. The minute the Handies stop being that I will leave the game because I will probably not find a better SG. Von (in particular) has worked hard to make the Handies community what it is and I think that finally taking the number one and two spots is vindication of her efforts. Long may the Handies continue.

Just as an aside. Had my PA out with oil slick arrow today and they were happy as larry standing and fighting in the middle of it flaming away. Not sure about phantasm, but he never goes near the oil slick anyway.

  7. Salmakia

    Illu/TA

I don't think I need to post my 'initial' build, given the two above. What I would say to comment on them however is:

    1. The earlier you can take ice arrow the better.
    2. For PvE (and I do the same of PvP, for good or bad) I feel 2 endredx in glue is ok (and that is for someone who doesn't have hasten)
    3. You don't need hasten (but again, this is from someone who avoids hasten unless he needs SS)

Otherwise, on a micro scale, I would take blind before spectral wounds, and superior invis at 8, especially if you go to the hollows. Combat hover will always be a thing for when you have slots to spare. (Again, good choice with combat hover. It will see you good!)

Ill/TA in my opinion is a relatively easy build to lvl and an awesome one to perfect.
  8. Salmakia

    Illu/TA

What I would say build wise for lvling is take spectral wounds and flash. Don't worry about assualt and tactics so much. Prioritise illusion powers, but get glue arrow, ice arrow, oil slick arrow and disruption arrow when you can.
Deceive is a great extra 'control' early on. Don't listen to anbody who berates you for its use. You use it...they stay alive and potentially get through mobs faster If you think you can spare the slots, go down the conbat hover route, otherwise spec it in later

    Basically just enjoy

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying Flash isn't good to have. It's just that Illusion/TA seems like a ranged type troller to me. I'd stick with PA, Spectral Terror and Emp Arrow to "control" the mobs at range.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *nods*

It's great if you have the slots, but if you don't have them to spare, and also with TA's range and the ability to stay at vertical range from mobs with combat hover means flash is rarely used. I used to not like so called soft holds and concentrated on 'proper' holds. But these days I find glue arrow, spectral terror and/or PA to do the job just fine. Tbh, I use PA and EMP arrow reasonably rarely. Only when things go to pot. Spectral terror, glue arrow, then spam blind and ice arrow plus all your wonderful TA powers on the boss

Just wish I had the 'cash' for all the wonderful IOs.

The build looks good. Don't agree with hasten, but then I never take hasten on any of my toons. I'd still level the toon with spectral wounds and flash to start with though. Respec later on. Plus you'll have a better idea yourself what feels right for you.
  10. Salmakia

    Illu/TA

Here's my current build (wishful with the IOs) for my 50 Ill/TA. It is based loosely around PvP in Sirens, but PvEs wonderfully. Low damage, but in teams it rocks (especially in long fights).

Don't worry about medicine pool as said. Combat hover is great for this set. Allows best placing of arrows, spectral terror etc... Spectral Terror/Glue Arrow will be your best friend, I prefer to six slot spectral terror. 2acc, 2fear, 2end. You'll use spectral terror so much that the end use it has will be a problem without slotting.
Only problem I have with ill/ta is setting alight my oil slick, but phanty often does the job for you.
You only need two recharge in disruption arrow. Three recharges in oil slick if possible. I also like to have slows in glue arrow.
This current build has taken me a while to come to and I don't recommend it for lvling. You'll need spectral wounds early on certainly, and flash might be useful. At high lvls though, this build is great fun!

    Phase Shift

I am playing a En/En Stalker and was wondering how phase shift interacts with hide. Given that it makes you hard to see (as well as phasing you with normal space) does this supposed "invis" stack with hide? Reasons for picking phase shift are mostly conceptual, but of course being a stalker I have one eye on Sirens Call and was wondering about the practical applications in PvP. If the concept allows for more fun in Sirens then all the better

Also I have seen conflicting accounts of the endurance cost for phase shift, does anyone know the actual figure for it?
  13. I used to fight with SI on all the time. However, end issues has forced me to reconsider. If I want to run my psychic shield plus assault and tactics plus SI and hover, I have problems especially with some of the end heavy ill and ta powers. Having made the switch to not using SI in combat I don't miss it at all really. It just means that I have to be careful in mishes just like most ATs. Still wouldn't take just GI though :P

Attack chains are interesting, but especially with archery powersets that are combined with non-archery sets. With my chains I have tried to minimise bow redrawage whilst differentiating between enemy ranks. Personally I prefer locking down bosses, it's what I do. But the initial attack chain where I use the AOE arrow powers allows me to lock down bosses by minimising what minions and lieutenants can do first.

I recommend ill/ta to anyone, there is a great synergy in the set...oh and combat hover FTW!
  14. GI or SI? Well my lvl50 ill/ta has SI but I no longer use it in combat. Partly because I have many toggles running and it is very end heavy even 3 slotted, plus I am really a team based troller and I figure that having it on during combat is not necessary. Even solo it isn't that necessary, the def buff is ok. If you can cope with end fine. I mostly use SI for travelling and ghosting. GI might be better if you want to use it in combat but don't rely on it or have team mates rely on it for ghosting or for keeping you safe.

I built my troller around a concept so she isn't likely to be the utter best she could be but it makes it more fun. My attack chain usually consists of the following:

Flash arrow, acid arrow, glue arrow, poison gas arrow, disruption arrow, oil slick arrow, spectral terror.

That takes more than care of minions and lieutenants, and cuts down redrawing of your bow which can be annoying.

I then spam acid arrow, ice arrow and blind on the boss in order to keep them held.

PA is used for taking serious alphas, adding an extra oommph to your teams attack mid-battle or for panic situations. I feel that using PA as soon as it is up for each mob is unnecessary, especially if you have ST.

In terms of epics and power pools I went with psychic power pool and took the shield and the mez protection. I went with fitness (obviously), leadership (assault/tactics) and I use hover in flight as a combat hover (three slotted) and use that as a handy way of steering clear of pesky melee users.

Hope that helps a little. I don't go in too much for numbers and exactly how much of what each power gives you, but the way I built my troller I can lock down bosses easily and quickly as well as preventing minions and lieutnants from doing much at all.

Oh and flash arrow is great for -Per mobs close by to the one you want to atack that might otherwise get involved.

All in all she is great fun to play
