Insirations?!?! How dare thee

I’ve just logged off after a spot of RV PVP and I seem to have rubbed some people up the wrong way. How I hear you all asking well ill tell you.

Heroes and villains were lined up two brutes and a heavy one side of the contested bridge 1pb 1 scraper 1 tank and 1 blaster and a heroic heavy the other side ( the heroes were l8er joined by another scrapper) anyway during the fight I used most of my inspirations, resistance when I needed to shrug of the hits I was taking, defence when I needed to take less, break frees when I was terrorised I assume the second scrapper had the dark epic and of course yellows to help hit that SR through elude. In fact the only insp’s I didn’t use were blue and green as an energy brute endurance is my thing

I managed to take down two fighters, after felling the scrapper I decided on tactical retreat as fast as flight could take me (not a pvp toon). The scraper during the fight and pursuit accused me of insping saying it was cheating.

Was just wondering what the general consensus is on this forum, I felt that insps perfectly fine in any PVP, arena or Zone But especially a zone in witch you can use an elite boss to get kills. They also help level the playing field, I cant get focus ACC which hurts me Vs high defence so insights help address that. I asked if they would fight my dominator without break frees and I didn’t get an answer, luckily as he is level 12 atm.

The long and the sort of it is, how do you feel about the use of insps in the above situation and PVP in general?

Use them till you run out then go get more.

Some AT's dont need them as much as others but your are fighting using tactics which makes sense to me.

The only time I even consider talking about insp's or no insp's is in Arena matches.

My opponents in the zones are welcome to voluntarily handicap themselves if they want to but that won't stop me using any inspirations I have to enable me to stay alive. I generally don't go for refills when I've used them all though - it's too much effort and I'm naturally lazy.

I hear they're being banned in i9. Hopefully this will stop all the cheaters.

Sounds like your opponents were annoyed that you used them to good effect. Ignore what they say about it being cheating and laugh at them while you get more. There are a few of these threads in the PvP section all coming to the same conclusion. Anything goes so long as it doesn't break the EULA.

Can see both points of view - however as nothing was said and was just general pvp then I would say inspirations are fine. In a lot of zone duals (omg use arena) unofficial law tends to be no inspirations (which you would agree before hand).

The only thing that would have perhaps annoyed me was the running away but wouldn't be calling you a cheater. As been stated many times in pvp there are no real rules just many many different expectations.

People in PvP zones should be degraded one level per insp they used!!!

Anyone that says using insps is cheating should be pwned hard. In the FACE!

I wouldn't take what Xanthus said as gospel - there's a small chance he wasn't being all that serious when he typed that...

I prefer the arena but i was called into RV by some members of my sg as the zone was empty (also there are less bugs you dont get kicked from the zone as your about to deliver the final blow)
I can see the running away bit being anoying, but in my pursute of one hero i alowed myself to get seperated, with 3 angry heroes intent on revenge and an endurence crash incoming i bottled it and went for conseve power and fly away as fast as i could to fight anotherday, i still maintain tactics although i conceed im on shakey ground

Knowing when to back off and trying to stay close to your team are both good things in PvP. You tend to get people in the zones (and from what I've seen, RV can be particularly bad for this) who don't really understand the concept of team PvP however, and they'll sometimes throw fits about the fact that you are teamed, the fact that you don't just stand there and let them kill you, insp use, and even use of certain powers. It's often best to just ignore these people, as nothing will convince them that you're doing nothing wrong, even though you're just making use of the game's mechanics.

Generally, the people who do this aren't experienced PvPers, and they're probably just frustrated that you're doing better than them. They start throwing out any argument they can to make it sound like you're really no good at PvP, and make themselves feel better.

Along with teaming, and other such lame exploits.

Ironically I find the people most likely to [censored] about my break free habbit are normally the first to start popping blues, and hammering that Warburg temporary power to get their toggles back up the minute their endurance is gone.

If it's a choice between usin a green, and resummoning my entire line of pets and trying to get back to the fight without getting ganked outside of BG because my pets are slow.

Ha! Green it is! I find it funny people [censored] about using insps when it's 3 vs 1 too...

"Oh my god you used a green! Lol insps!"

"But... there was THREE of you?!?"

I usually get the same treatment for using cj to "run away" even though i never run away more than a few feet.

"No i'd love to come out so you can 2 shot me :P"

Damn me for using my inerents! So cheap!

As for the original question, inspirations are perfectly fine. This issue resurfaces every once in a while when people relatively new to PVP listen too much to the moaners

why cant people understand what a PvP zone is?

its basically a free-for-all! you've earned the Insp - so use 'em! there are no rules when in a PvP, people who dont like others using Insp and complain bitterly should leave the PvP zone imediatly. when im in RV and i get attacked by a stalker i dont complain that it was unfair that i couldnt see him, if i get killed then i get killed, if i run out of insp's and my opponent is still popping them then i'll probably leg it.

why do people still insist on making up stupid rules?

The other night in SC on defiant was fun, I was popping inspirations by the bucket load to try and stop the doms from killing me
(seriously I need the purples, a dead slug can mez my blaster).

There was no visible compaints about peoples inspiration usage that I saw then so it looks like some people just get bad luck with who they pvp with.

In BB on union the other day there was a lot of the anti-inspiration crowd but they seemed to quieten down once we told em the error of their ways :P

If im about to die and can run away I WILL RUN.

If I have insps that will get me back into the fight I WILL USE THEM.

If im on a PVP team I will expect help or help that team.

I will use whatever tactic's I can to win and accept death gracefully.

The rules are there are no rules.

The arena is the place for ruled PVP.

this should be on a sign when you enter a PvP zone... along with "dont talk about PvP Zone"

People moaning about the use of insps in open PvP bothers me. Arena is a totally diffrent matter, you agree on what the limits are with your oppenent before you start the match

I dont see a problem with it. Use what ever means you can to get one over on the opposition. It is a long way away from being cheating.

My health drops, I'm popping a green. Low end? Time for a Blue. So on and so forth. Its not Cheating... anything goes.

In other words: "You are orange... I'll do what ever I can to make you eat concrete."
