Griefing or fair game?

The duel wasn't near the base. The droning is something of a side issue that arose from the original problem. TPing into mobs but not following through. Repeatedly.

Ahhh, I see. OK, this dude was being a bit of a jerk then, since he's not really fighitng you.

I'd love to know so I can killerize him. Getting your own back is the beauty of PvP!

An even cheaper way is to find a kinetics defender or controller and get them to ID you. It's a superb way to avoid getting TP'd! I suggest you try it.

Ironically I gave up PvP-ing in Siren's Call with my Ice/Kinetics Corruptor because I constantly got TP-ed into mobs as soon as I left the base and then Held/Stunned/Immobilized/Slowed/etc. by players who never attacked me directly, thus getting me maximum debt each time.

Devs have said repeatedly that teledroning or even repeated mob tp isnt griefind, so you won't get much petitioning it. I don't agree with that myself, but that's how the game is designed to be

Persistant debting is though.

Last night I received a plea from help from a freind who in some difficulty in Siren's Call. I headed along just in time to see her being TPed into a bunch of mobs. Aparently this had been happeneing repeatedly since she had entered the zone (maybe not always mobs, I wasn't there) and it was now becoming difficult to avoid debt.

Going by the comments in your posts I can give the following opinions:

It sounds like they were deliberately trying annoy/peeve off someone or anybody by using this 'tactic'.

If the victim was repeatedly tp'd and in particular, had not previously made any kill or attempt to attack on the drone tp'er, then I'd say this repeated tp'ing to cause debt (and possibly ill feeling) would qualify as griefing in my book.

Repeated drone tp'ing for base campers and what has been said before is fair game and I believe in. Things like interrupting a 'duel' (although some would say this is rude I think demanding a zone of pvp'ers not to pvp in a pvp zone is rude; however, I digress) is also fair game.

Bringing debt to a random player for the sheer malicious intent is wrong and as Marquand Dance stated, it is petitionable under these circumstances.

As an aside, there are a few ways of defeating drone huggers like this....

Petition it as repeated debting i guess, the devs seem to have some very odd ideas on whats acceptable in PvP. For me i never use TP Foe to drop enemies into mobs as the second you do, killing blow or no, your resigning them to debt if you win. The damage ratio debt system means that i see that as griefing, your deliberatly debting, and thats the reason a lot of people do it, it's often not even for the kill as broadcast will often tell you. Personally i'm all for dropping debt in PvP zones, it drives people away and getting rid of it would make idiots like you teledebter easier to stomach...

Fair game, tbh anything goes. Sure its annoying but hell there are ways to kill him/her if you know the right people. Else just dont stay so close to the base. He cant drone you if you arent in range and if noone is in range for quite a long time I would suspect the person would come out into the zone.

Fair game IF he had actually had any intention of actually killing your friend himself. Teledroning is A foul tactic that people use to cuase arguments. ive never seen it used to thin out the numbers of a team or to gain any kind of tactical advantage. Its usually someone whos too chicken to actually enter the zone themselves. The way i see it is any tactic which results in debt a number of times is griefing. TBH the only people ive ever heard defend these tactics are the ones who use it themselves or have done in the past.

As for people who dont like to see duels in pvp zones and try to break them up. I think thats another excuse. The only time ive ever heard anyone complain about duellin in pvp zones was shortly after they had interfered in a duel using AS and were getting flamed from both participants for spoiling the fun.

Nice thread bump, Angelstar.

I only have one rule when i enter a PvP zone: If in doubt, petition.

It can easily be prevented by backing off from the base a little.

[/ QUOTE ]
unless the other person has it slotted 3 acc and 3 range...

[ QUOTE ]
Teledroning (that is, teleporting other players into the 'guard' drones) isn't really griefing in my opinion, because it's only ever used as a tactic when one side has the other side completely locked down to their base.

[/ QUOTE ]
where as repeatedly doing so far as i know does come under griefing, their inten droning the same person over and over and over....

someone starts Tping peeps out of base to be ganked i usualy if on the same side tell them to stop, teledroning and base TPing just encourages others to do it, also as for "locked down in the base" erm SC HOW many ways out the base would you like?

If your forced into a defending strategy surely it makes more sense to defend the area with all the drones and machine guns/10 million long bow. Seems more clever than making a break for the rings anyway.

LOL.
Thinking twice about kamikazeing a 15 man gank squad pushed right up against your base isnt "chicken". Recently though I just leave the zone, I can do without "come out your base noob, we pwn joo". If the zone goes empty you can blame the base campers.

very far

now what's that old chest nut the best defence...

slip round the back/sides, fly hdie whatever lol, if someone with team teleport (even the temp power one...) nips out and gets in the back of the heroes, can the hit them from a direction they wont gen be watching and if one or 3 emps happen to be floating round the back somewhere... :P
it's a long enough time getting back from heros hosp all the way back the villian base lol

If your facing a huge gank squad and your clearly outnumbered then i suppos fair enough. HOVEVER, the question really started as one person being teledroned by another person. which if you ask me is cowardice. The culprit clearly having no intention to do anything himself. Having said that the question remains as to what the victim was doin within range in order to get tp'ed
