Just out of interest, what uses does this power actually have? Is it literally just for people with a lot of control effects on their primary blast set, or does it boost the effects of stuff like hasten as well?

Buff: Secondary Power Effects = 100%
(Disorient/Hold/Immobilization/KB Distance/Fly/Run/etc)
DEF Boost: +DEF - 100% Self
RES Boost: +RES - 100% Self

I think ice benefits most from powerboost tbh.

My AR/NRG is not taking it as i have no secondary effect as such to boost.

Yeah but neither realy are usefull enough to justify a power pick.

NRG secondary has a chance to stagger them but from what i have experience so far (lvl 26) it dosnt often enough.

Boosted KB imo is never handy now a power to reduce kb and we have a deal lol.

Reason i said ice is best is all the attacks thave slow built in which of course would be boosted by power boost.

Really? How come it doesn't boost all the other secondaries effects of the other powers then?

Very much skippable for PvE, unless you also have aid self I would say. Not to be missed for PvP.

Increases the heal by a significant amount.

(Even though it says all secondary effects are affected, and I would of thought the heal would be the primary effect )

It doubles the amount healed. I asume its treated as a secondary effect

Realy!!! Lol

Most be how the game is programmed certain effect then must be pigeon holed as secondary effect.

I mean surely the primary function of aid self is heal and the secondary is the toxic restance.

I may actually cosider it now as im getting aid self for my blaster.

Any one know what its duration is? Im persuming somthing akin to build up about 10 seconds ish??

It only doubles the base heal, not the enhanced part (as with everything it boosts)

Healing is a secondary affect. It doesn't boost resistance as someone said, as that is a primary affect (the opposite of damage).

Yes it is how the game engine works. It doesn't matter what the primary and secondary affect of a certain power are, just whether they are labelled as primary and secondary etc. Damage and damage resistance are the only primary that I can think of.

Aid self doesnt give toxic resistance, it gives stun resistance.

Power boost duration is 15 seconds. 3 slotted recharge and with hasten on it is up for 15 seconds, down for 7.

It's working as intended as far as I know, not a side-effect of lazy programming.

It may be working as intende but its still wrong.

Q What is aid self main use

A To heal

Therefore Heal is the priamry funcition of the power and thats how it should work tbh.

I know they wont change it but each power should have a treated on its own merits.

The primary effect of a hold is also to hold, and Power Boost boosts hold duration too. People just get mixed up because "secondary effect" is a term used about two completely separate things that sometimes overlap.

[/ QUOTE ]Game-mechanics wise, secondary effect is only used to mean actual secondary effects. It is just that some players dont understand the system and improperly use the term.

Power Boost gives a 100% boost to the following:-

Disorient Duration
Sleep Duration
Confuse Duration
Fear Duration
Immobilize Duration
Hold Duration
Knockback (KnockUp) distance
Repel strength
Run speed
Fly speed
Defence Buffs
Heal
To-hit Buffs
Endurance Drain

You should ignore all that 'secondary effect' nonsense - it's just a(nother) badly written power description. If you have a power that can do any of the above, in any way, Power Boost will boost it.

It also boosts range too... it turns my NRG/NRG blaster into a blapper worthy of being on a team with Power Boost, Aim, Build Up, Total Focus.

Heavy damage and disorient for the fun!

I think I can without any doubt say that Power Boost does not affect range..
