There are only three alternatives. It thinks were either a threat, food, or a mate. Its gonna either kill us, eat us, or hump us.

<pedant> 8 Thing Simultaneous Ding </pedant>

Well, if it's been done before, I've not heard of it.

And by god it took a lot of farting around to get it all sorted

Thanks to you lot for putting up with me trying to arrange this idiocy, and listening to me ramble as I tried to figure out how in hell to get everyone to the same point at the same time

so, grats to (in no particular order):

Adamantium Claw (Elec/Elec/Elec Suicidal loon PBAoE Blaster thing)

Bight (Ice/Ice/Arctic Squishytank(tm) and greedy holder of aggro. It's mine, all MINE! )

Tick Tock (Inv/SS/Energy Tanker and screen shaker)

Velisha (Empathy/Rad/Power Defender, and official keeper aliver for Mr. Adamantium, "debt badges? I want 'em all before 50" Claw)

Krait (Warshade, and purveyor of knockback to the discerning tank)

Sarah Jenkins (Kinetics/Archery/Psionic Purveyor of Speed Boost Crack and Fulcrum Shifty Goodness to anyone who asks)

Frozen Chorus (Ice/Sonic/Primal Uncontroller )

G.I (AR/Energy/Munitions Blaster, and full on hyperactive Full Auto junkie.)

So, thanks from the long suffering Ice tank to the rest of the usual mob, for flattening stuff quick enough that it couldn't flatten me first, and thanks to the Defenders who suddenly appeared for the last 4 levels confusing me by supplying green numbers when I'd been unaware that they could come from an outside source

Next time 50 ding? God alone knows. We've done it in the cape mission, and we've done 8 at once. I'm running out of ideas...

Hmm, I suspect you may have some of the 1 AT guys popping in here in a minute. They regularly do mass dings and currently have about half a dozen 49's who've been waiting for the next mass one(a couple of months for some of them. No way I could wait that long just to ding with friends!).

Not sure if they've timed them simultaneously though or just in the same mission

EDIT: Ignore that. Just been on the 1 AT forums and doesn't seem like they have done it as they're discussing it on there as well

That deserves a curtsey... and yes i'm male... but still deserves a curtsey

Congratulations guys! That is SO cool.

Pic should be entered for whatever section of the CoH website these things go to.

Well done!!

Can I jusk ask why though???

Many congratulations!! That is a mighty achievement . I've teamed with members of the Darkwings and Cirque de Lune, who I believe these are all members of. I'm mightily impressed - and no, the 1AT have NOT managed this yet, although we will soon .

(I'm at 49.95 and waiting for a similar 1AT experience).

Aye, I think the 1AT will be the first too do a 8-Man-Blaster-All-Dong-50 team soon

Umm, because after a few, just randomly hitting 50 seems a bit of a letdown?

It's always nice to make some sort of event of the occasion, since it doesn't happen very often.

Also, because I was idiot enough to sort of come up with the idea, suggest it, and stupid enough to park myself at 49.53 for the weekend and help push the others to the same point, which was fun in and of itself, TBH.

Huge gratz people. Now I know what all that frantic mishing over the weekend was for. Glad you let me help out with some of it, and glad you helped Corpos hit the big 5-0 as well.

Excellently done.

Uncontroller

Bah! Your mother was an aardvark, and your father was an ant-eater!

I, being so utterly uber in every way with my multitude of AoE controls, was obviously the corner-stone of the team, the foundation you were built on, the glue that brought cohesion to the chaos! How you ever would have survived without me is a matter beyond the comprehension of mortal beings, as it would have been reaching beyond the impossible and into a realm where imagination has yet to even take the human race!

And I would put </sarcasm> at the end of this post, but it is all the honest truth and utterly without question, irrefutable, if you will, in its grandeur!

</sarcasm>

Christ, I spelled irrefutable right apparently. How'd that happen?

And now back to your regularily scheduled celebrations and junk:

Big-[censored] screenshot of the 8x50 ding!

As a side-note, that's one of each of the starting 5 AT's in CoH that I now have at 50. They are:

<ul type="square"> [*]MBar : Invuln/Energy Tanker[*]Darkshift : Rad/Dark Defender[*]Night Helm : Dark/Regen Scrapper[*]Amanda Pierson : Bow/Elec Blaster[*]Frozen Chorus : Ice/Sonic Controller[/list]
That only leaves some sort of Kheldian now (as I consider the Kheldians as one AT, even though they're seperated out into Warshades and Peacebringers). Starfell, currently a lvl 24 Human-form Peacebringer, will probably be my next Hero to hit 50, unless the devs GIVE US MORE TANKER PRIMARIES DAMMIT!!!

You see? I'll never miss an opportunity to say that.

I'm going to put together a celebratory wallpaper of Team MBar whenever I get the chance, just so I can show off and be a [censored] about it.

And finally, thanks once again to the guys and girls who collectively call themselves the DarkWings, whether they be actual members of such or all but, going for 0 - 50 in about 150 hours was once again a blast.

Or a control ... Whatever!

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

Gratz to all of you on the simultaneous ding. That's some serious effort and playing around.

Thanks for letting me into the team for a while, TT. You and the gang got me to 50 far quicker than I could have anywhere else!!

I dont think Glowies give XP anymore. So i think the next ine should be an 8 man team dinging from an exploration badge, preferrably Heart of the Hammidon.

Sounds like a use for group teleport to me

Of course we'd need a marker on the badge, and a lot of faffing around with xp levels before going in for it...

Or time it just after the mythical beast that is a successful hami raid so there's no goo in the way.

So, mechanistically, there's no major issue with that plan, but realisitcally...

Nice and late, but Congratulations to everyone...

I remember hitting 50 and did it with 1 or 2 friends. Was a really funny experience. I think I talked in CAPS for about an hour afterward I was that excited.

Krait was sending me the odd /tell as you were all doing it. Sounded very complicated to arrange it all! (That's yet another level 50 she has! One day I'll catch up hon! :P)

Not so much organising as me bullying people over teamspeak

General principle was to get everyone to roughly 49.5, and then have them alt to a 50 or their toon of choice to drag the rest of the mob along.

Once everyone was parked at 49.5 (give or take 1/2 of a bar) then the fine tuning started, going through missions, keeping an eye on exact 'XP to next level' figures. Again, with people dropping from team and alting as they all approached the same number (I think we parked again at 120k tnl). there was some strategic use of debt as a braking mechanism on the people closest to 50, and Claw very nearly spoiled it all by planting a couple of times by accident... Or at least he claimed it was by accident

Then we went into the final mission, the Vertical Factory map with Siege at the top.

Bridged a couple of people in who wanted to watch, and used the mobs at the bottom of the tower to get everyone to about 90k tnl. To do this we had two teams in the mission, with people dropping from the main team as they hit the appropriate point, and the mission owner going to 50-60k tnl, in case he didn't get the mission bonus immediately when siege fell over.

These numbers were best guesses based on expected AV and mission bonus combined xp and a little bit of leeway to factor in the mobs around the AV.

The main team reformed, and the two spectators went around grabbing glowies etc., leaving just the AV to beat up to finish the mission.

All went to the top of the map, sighted on Siege, and let rip, with the results above

And My Brain Hurt(TM) by the end, trying to figure out how to juggle teams and members around to aim for the simultaneous ding.

And happily, I got lucky with my guesses and Lo! The fireworks were most impressive

So in short, yes, it took a lot of organising
