Posts like this serve no purpose other than to provoke people. Please don't make them.

Unfortunately this post should now be called "Picture of Generichero25". Yes after playing this toon for nearly 18 months he has been zapped, I would like to state that I was in no way aware of any copyright infringement and am deeply saddened that my first toon and my first level 50 is to be renamed. 
My comiserations Bro. That must sting a hell of a lot and I know that if that had happened with my first 50 I would be spitting mad. I would also like to say a big thankyou to Kinslayer for bringing an obscure comic book hero into the public forum and no doubt helping my brother lose the name of the toon I have had the honour of teaming with over the last year and a half. If I ever get to meet you in person I would love to thank you further.
I'm shocked by this, and a little surprised that NCSoft has taken this view of this particular toon. I remember teaming with Cap back when I was levelling Prize to 50 and that was yonks ago.
Very harsh, as it's such a little known character! I know how I would feel if someone found some obscure heroine called Prize with red hair and I was made to change her. 
I'm amazed at this - Captain USA was played for 50 levels has been going 18 months and suddenly is in breach of copyright?
You've missed one thing Prize - it doesnt matter what the toon LOOKS like - Captain USA does not look like the comic book version . All it takes is for someone to find that that hero NAME has been used by some comic book company somewhere ( in the whole history of time possibly ) and BAM - suddenly you're generic hero...
( New step in character generation process - Co# opens browser for you to Google your prospective name ... just in case )
I know NCSofts issue - they don't want another law suit, but one of the main Marvel issues was that the LOOK and POWERS of their heroes could be replicated. The implementation of that seems to be that the name is enough - that seems wrong - especially in this case ( remembers Persil renaming mess ).
Real shame here - as others have commented I know how fumin' I'd be - so comisserations matey but I hope that somehow this is overturned or at least you can choose a new name - Cap USA maybe ( since crazilly that would seem to be allowed!!!! ) [ Assuming this mess hasn't completely tarnished him ]
( Btw - a quick Image Google reveals a character called RockJaw in issues of BONE comic - doesn't look anything like our esteemed redname but the NAME... Bridger apparently hasn't been used anywhere except here)

I posted a joking message and a link in good natured fun(which the OP reacted to very badly). Yes, it was probably a little short sighted of me realising that someone on her would probably pick up on it and peition it(if it wasn't the mod's who picked up his flame reply)
I'm not the guilty party as anyone could have found it and posted it and anyone could have petitioned him.
Maybe if he hadn't flamed and insulted me and someone reported the post it wouldn't have come to the Dev's attention(again this was not me and I'm happy to give my permission for Bridger to publicly confirm this by looking at the log and waive my privacy).
As for you threatening me on a public forum, I suggest you go read the forum guidelines as I will NOT put up with threats.
Actually surprised to see you threaten me as we've teamed up quite a bit in the past when I used to play D-Zol so hearing that is actually quite sad
At the end of the day, we know the rules regarding copyright and I daresay I would be annoyed if I unwittingly had a character that was copyrighted. I would NOT threaten anyone as a result though and would rather have to change my name than see the makers get in more trouble with lawsuits

I know for a fact all those spread rumors about me on the game wud get a shock if they met me in person and realise a "facade" when they saw one (Stasis, Infernius and a few people can confirm that the "rumors" and "opinions" people have here about me are unfounded and sadly wrong).. but DAMN.. i dont go public threatening someone to something outside the game.. Sorry Rockjaw, but indeed Azomas is right, Google reports so many comic characters names Rockjaw, its taking me a while to read them all. This one in particular is a book by Jeff Smith and most definately a Comic style publication. Is this sufficient violation? I mean, Cap USA's costume was not the same as Cap Americas or this obscure Cap USA's.

Cap USA is a good in game friend of mine. He has been around for AGES. He has been posting on the forums for AGES. It takes you AGES to conclude you have a problem with the name. Sorry, but there is some work for you to do here to incorporate a name checker at the character creation screen, or improve the one you have. 1 Researcher, Google, 1 week = full list of well known and obscure super heros. You dont want to do it? Shall i send you a quote for the work?

Well if i wasn't being sarcastic and was being for real THAT spitting mad over a matter of which ballbearing is mostly at fault for not checking on the toon name in the first place i certainly wouldnt make it public notice or maybe i would even if it only meant spilling a drink over a guy. I personally feel that things could easily be taken out of context as is normally the case with certain people reading into things the wrong way from what i write aye Raz? I've known green since Feb or beginning of March 2005 when green jet was level 13 and i have to say i really do conceive this as humour although words that cant be said on the forums is at most all that would ever be intended to happen.
