Militia Thursdays
Mobs obviously. If we went arresting players, even if we had the manpower, we'd be arresting them by the truckload :P
Just brainfarts anyway. Every SG has similar situations however. The Vigil Vs War Crow, the GoD had their own hiccups with characters going rogue if I remember correctly?
But like I said, just tossing out ideas.
Say hello to our latest team member, Masked Angel. Team A now has a fair bit more Umf!

3 places left for blasters, scrappers, or tankers...sort of in that order.

Any last questions? Anything I've forgotten?
Who is willing to lead Team A? Want to wait until we meet or sort it out now? Believe me, I'm willing to give up my leadership if anyone wants.
On the night, we all get missions and work through for a sense of continuity where possible. Sound good?
I don't know how people feel about setting difficulty levels but I imagine it's best leaving them alone to begin with.
The last thing we'll do is agree on a level limit for next week.
Max
Do you need to invite us all to an sg to start with so we have a base to meet in?
Battleflag
All sounds good to me. It looks like we've already done all the admin stuff beforehand so we can just dive in. I guess we'll deal with story arcs when they happen really. We can choose which one we fancy on the night. Hope to see you all there.

Looking forward to this. I should be on time but may be a little late, just a warning. Got a hair appointment and if it runs over by much (or the traffic decides it hates me) I may be late.
Like I said though. Should be there on time.
Friends are just enemies that haven't betrayed you yet.
Final choice folks - I can choose a variety of toons to play - my dilema is I often dont know if I will like them until I have played a few levels:
Im allocated to Team B, and gonna play Astraohobia (origin as above and on the origin board).
Either:
Mind/Storm troller
Storm/Defender troller (my preffred)
Illusion/Storm troller
What do people reckon?
BTW does anyone know what damage does to a "feared" toon? I think it doesnt do anything but does it ?wake them?
I hope to be there - RL permitting!

What?! This a typo?
Guys, to help my memory, I did a recap of all your character backgrounds.
See this Clicky and lemme know if I've misunderstood your char so far.
COuld do either, Pious? both Mind/Storm troller and Storm/Psionic defender fit the bill about equally. So its up to team preference. Mind will add a LOT more control, whereas Defender will marginally add to defence due to better debuffing and better bonuses from leadership pool.
Also, Astra is a bloke see militia thread!
'Time-traveller manipulated by aliens.'
i'm a spaceman manipulated by a secret agency posing as aliens, just thought i'd let you know.
Former Wyvern Squad leader,((it was manticore at the end wen i said "red leather uniform and lions masks.."))
Bad News
Finn29 can't make it tonight! As a result, I've changed the teams slightly. Masked Angel is now in Team B to compensate for a lack of tanker.

This was always going to happen and always will; as I said to Finn29: All it takes is a phone call or something and I won't make it. We need to get used to just dealing with who's there and forming up. Please type MILITIA in your search box so it makes spotting our team easier.
Iv'e been thinking about changing the timing slightly as i feel I probably haven't given enough consideration to others, here are some choices. Let me know and I'll respond to opinion:
7 to 9 as it is now
7.30 to 9.30
8 to 10.00 wow that's late
Battleflag
I am certainly flexible with the timing.
Only thing is that I am on CET and that would make the 8-10 UK time end exactly at my bedtime, so I would only have problems if the session were to continue for much longer than the two hours.
7-9 Is a rather poor choice tbh - most people would be eating around this time (myself included so I dont know how Im going to work around it).
I would strongly recommend 8-10, I for one would fine this a LOT easier, and I suspect many other people would to.
Think of the food, man!
You'd also need to consider that one or two of the team members might want to shoot off at 9 for GG.
Have you guys considered maybe a Friday or Saturday evening? ie, when the next day isn't a school day, and less likely to be a work day... Just a suggestion of course!

Do not go gentle into that good night.

I'm listening to all responses and I'll do my best to respond favourably.
Floating Man
Every time has its problems as I'm sure you know, for example, Friday and Saturday are often "Do Stuff Nights" for a variety of reasons, depending on age etc.
I appreciate the point about timing with GG but it's only one night out of the week.
As this progresses I imagine more freedom will develop, hopefully as our numbers grow. Maybe one day we won't need to specify a time because there will usually be a few of us online at any one time.. .I knowream on.
We'll see
Battleflag
I only point it out as it's possible one or two of your teammates might suddenly want to shoot off mid-mission... Though I'm sure there's only a small chance of that
BTW, Have you actually tried many IC missions yet? Early level missions are usually shortish, but once you get into zones like Perez and Steel, you might find 2 hours for a fully IC mission a little optimistic! All depends on what you do inside them...
Also, I don't know if you were aware of this, but it IS actually possible to get more than 8 people inside a single mission... have 2 teams, one of 8, one of 7. The team with the mission leader enters and the leader then quits and invites the others to team with him. They can they enter the mission too! You can actually get dozens of heroes inside a mission that way As long as the mission owner is inviting them from inside, all is good! It's rubbish for XP as the mobs will only spawn for the original 8 man team (Push it to invincible setting), but it can be great fun for RP....

All interesting stuff Floating Man, Thanks. I had no idea about the team numbers thing, that could be good. as for IC experience, I have very little indeed. The same could be said for my coh experience above lev 14 too. This is all going to be a See How It Goes thing as far as I"m concerned. Today I've been wondering if we'll grow into a fairly large SG IC group so that people's gaming habits will create natural team ups. Clearly, the time slot idea has limited appeal.
At the moment I'm enjoying playing my character as Battleflag(lev 14) but a lack of continuity as regards teams is something I don't enjoy; I meet the odd familiar face but not many. This experience is what has lead me to think of the game as being a button pressing exercise in the past. I'm hoping that as I progress in level I'll get more of a regular crowd to team with.
Any comments please.

I think I'd have to agree regarding the Friday/Saturday timing. I don't think it's suitable. In terms of time, I think that 7:30 - 9:30 might be better as there's still people at GG at 9:30 and a 7:30 start allows people more time to get in, eat and sort out things before settling down into the game. I don't think we can worry too much about it now, as you said, we'll see how it goes.
As for mission lengths, yes, they will get ridiculously long later on so that's something we'll have to think about as we approach them, especially if we elect to undertake a taskforce one night (that will probably turn into a morning... ). As we (hopefull) expand, we may well end up forming teams of those who can afford the time. Again, I offer this up to the "We'll see how this goes".
Pious, I think that seems to be a fair summary of everything. If people are feeling creative, we can always add details of character story arcs under the Militia thread or even in the creative section.
Right, six hours and counting. See you there!

I'll be there from 7. For me, Thursdays are fine dinner-wise, as my sister has to be out the door for 6.30, so dinner's been cooked and eaten before that.
I'll probably suggest next week as a 7.30 start unless I hear different.
The more I think about it, it more it seems likely that we'll end up playing in small groups whenever suits. If that's what happens and people are having fun then I'll be happy enough. I've already met plenty of decent types and hopefully we'll all share an hour or twenty as time goes on, regargdless of this team.
Still no volunteer Team A unless I'm mistaken.
Battleflag
Well thanks for stepping up Pious, it's appreciated! You and I can step back and let two others take over next week; The Minister said we have to take turns!
Battleflag
You're really making me wish I actually read comics and so knew precisely what you were on about with the "golden age" and "silver age" things. I've heard of them, but that's about it.
That said a government enforcer unit isn't a bad idea, just difficult to play as "heroic" as such. Many government agencies and protocols are swamped in red tape and I'd imagine a government super group to be the same. You know, to stop "rogue elements" and the like using it for themselves. As such unless it's full of "Law and order before freedom" types that's fine. For those that want to be able to help people without being bogged down by bureaucrats (and thusly a national criminal if they disobey the bureaucrats) it would be a bit of a muffler.
