Of course crazy people can't lead the teams(now which characters could I be thinking of) and if anyone is keen to lead I imagine there wouldn't be much resistance.

I'm afraid Meriam is much too young and inexperienced to serve as a leader - although she is the responsible type, it would most probably end in disaster

Hey! Tatters ain't crazy, he's just... extremely odd.
You're right, though, he could never lead. *sigh*

Who said anything about tatters

I can't see Brother Tchall leading either. He's far too ready to use lethal force, so official sanctioning of him giving orders is unlikely. Also he was assigned to be kept a watch on while his capabilities were monitered, having him lead the watchers could undermine this.

Could someone post a recap of the names here, the alts in the Militia and their archetypes / sets / origins, just for my reference?

*looks at Battleflag*

PS would people mind doing a VERY breif bio for their ID just so I can refresh my memory (it wont sink in for a couple of weeks!)

Blitz Arrow
Archtype: Defender
Age: 19
Mutant powers: possess completely rewired brain cells and nervous system, giving him enchanced vision, senses, dexterity, hand eye co-ordinate, equalibrium, and agility, aswell as minor superspeed powers.

Game powers: Super speed( hasten) Leaping, Trick arrows, Archery, (maybe leadship)

So Tchall is creepy huh? HUH!?

Thank you. I don't think I've ever had a compliment quite like it. Helps when people get the feel you're going for.

Also for interest:
Brother Tchall
Natural
Defender
Empathy (Technical, magical and medicinal mix. Possesses good grasp of all three)
Archery (Traditional, broadhead arrows and shortbow. Potentially lethal.)

And I'll get to work on a bio.

Finally I'm hoping all of you can be patient with my healing as time goes on, this is my first real Empathy user so I'm still adjusting to it. Still, I reckon I did reasonably well this session.

Masked Angel, AKA Meriam Keser

15 year old schoolgirl of mixed Iranian/Turkish heritage, taking over the heroic mantle from her mother, and trying to hide her crime-fighting activities from a strict father, who most certainly wouldn't approve of it.

Living with her parents and kid-brother (who just discovered his sister's secret) in Kings Row. Skilled striker for the Kings Row United girls' football team.

MA/Regen scrapper of natural origin, currently struggling with a nasty chemistry test, and still not sure about how the Ministry/Militia knew she was the Masked Angel, and what they could possibly want with her, given all the skilled people with flashy powers already in the Militia's service.

As far as the Masked Angel is concerned - your healing rocked!

I don't know if you were giving special attention to the baby of the team (a lot of team members certainly seemed to be watching my back), but definitely nothing to worry, let alone complain, about!

First Night

Well, the whole experience was good from my point of view! I was initially concerned that I didn’t really know what I was doing and wouldn’t be able to find a voice for my character; I needn’t have worried. There were so many other personalities to bounce of that I found myself in role without even trying. The more I played, the easier it was.

Booster Ice and I fell out pretty quickly, and understandably when you take personality into account. This could have just turned into a one dimensional dislike thing but then I found Devlin(that’s me) having a grudging respect for the man’s powers and so made the odd positive comment.

The first time Devlin met Masked Angel he was slightly flirtatious but when she blushed he realized how young she was and felt guilty. This lead to him feeling guilty and then protective towards her. The Extrisity boy needed watching, he might only be at uni himself but he’s too old for her. He’s got impressive firepower though, I’ll give him that. In writing this I hadn’t meant to slip into character, it just happened.

Astraphobia had to log pretty early in the game and only made it back at the end so I had limited contact with her.

Tatters was a good character for Devlin to have a bit of fun with as there’s a demonic/magical link to the two characters. He’s crazy!!

The byplay with characters was quite convincing as I often missed out on some conversations between others as I was busy with my own, usually insulting/winding up Booster.

That’s just my experience with Team Bravo but I had some contact with Alpha which was fun. It looks as though Dev and Brother aren’t going to get on too well, unsurprising considering Devlin’s flippant approach compared to Brother’s serious tone. Hawkshaw came across as fairly aloof in my brief contact. Sorry if I’ve missed anyone but it was only the first night.

I imagine it will only get better the longer we play and the more difficult things get.

INFO THOUGHTS AND QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS
• 7PM START NEXT WEEK OK?

• MAX, ARE YOU GOING TO SET THE SG UP FOR NEXT WEEK?

• SHOULD WE MEET AT THE SAME SPOT EVEN WITH A BASE? I’M THINKING OF PULICITY FOR US TO GROW.

• I THINK THE HOLLOWS WILL BE OUR FIRST PORTOF CALL NEXT WEEK(AS AN OPTION ANYWAY), AM I RIGHT? IF SO, SHOULD WE CHOOSE THAT OR ELSEWHERE?

INFO
• LEV 7 CAP FOR NEXT WEEK

THOUGHTS
• IT WENT WELL AND THE SOONER WE ARE BIG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO TEAM LIKE THIS WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENT THE BETTER.

• IT MIGHT BE WORTH HAVING MILITIA IN OUR SEARCH BOXES FOR OTHER CHARACTERS, IF APPROPRIATE, JUST TO SPOT EACHOTHER.

*cough* Mind the all-caps, please?

Personally, I vote for avoiding the Hollows and instead going the King's Row -> Steel Canyon path. Partly because I don't like the Hollows, and partly because I feel the King's/Steel mission paths are more appopriate for the kind of RP we're doing.

People's search boxes tend to be pretty full as it is, with various "No blind invites"/"Happy to SK"/"Dark/Dark controller" messages. Just use the global friends list; that's what it's there for.

The SG has been set up, I was just in a rush yesterday evening, and forgot to bring on the SG-inviter character first, instead of Hawkshaw.

Rest assured, I'll have him there next week at about 6.45, so invites can be handed out without going into mission-ing time.

I found the experience much fun. The characters where established and the banter was flying arround as food in a foodfight. I think it's well worth repeating again.

I surprisingly found it highly enjoyable playing a 'normal' person, who just happens to have some powers. For instance, making sure he looked both ways before crossing the roads, and refusing to leap down 40 foot when everybody else was doing it with ease.

Positive responses so far

Okay, so Lief says Kings/Steel. I'm happy whatever but these missions will be new to me so it'll be a nice change.

Thanks Max, I'll try to be there a bit early again next week.

We're still looking for another 3 members to make two full teams if anyone knows someone who would be interested.

Got to agree with all the above. It was an absolutely superb experience, the type that I value after a year of playing and makes the game fresh again. Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun time.

Amber was mostly shy and quite scared, especially against the Council due to previous family history. But everyone in Team A took good care of her especially when she got lost on way to the mission. It was fun to play a character who is quite young and innocent in comparison to some of my other, more screwed up toons. Amber's diary is up in the Militia thread.

I find that I've spent too much time in the Hollows recently so I am quite happy to take missions elsewhere. I'll try to get there a little earlier next week but no promises.
