Empowerment Stations?

Guys, does anyone know if this is an item that needs to be created within the workshop, or a new type of room? And does anyone have any basic prices in mind? With 3 alts,
I've been able to build a base with enough prestige to get a base up and running with a workshop, but the items I can invent are useless unless I was gonna base-raid, which is very unlikely. So, I was hoping to pick up some buffs for my prestige instead.

Radiation Emulator (Image)
What it does: Creates limited duration buffs from Salvage/Creates Components
Prestige Cost (as of 13/05): 15,000
Power/Control Req: None

The empowerment station can only be placed in Workshops.

The Radiation Emulator can also immediately create its own successor for longer duration buffs. To build requires 12 Tech Material and 36 Tech Power.

I presume there are Arcane equivalents. Silly mages

Thanks! SO I'll have to keep my workstation room. But does it need to be invented on my workstation first?

Posted

No - they're immediately purchasable items. Same as the Storage Items (Hancies/Insps/Salvage) too.

Posted

Yah, making them so cheap and with no requirements apart from a workshop was key to thier usefulness. Having to make your base powered and controlled just to build them would have been counterproductive I think

Shrug.

One has to think why in the name of the Great Nerf Bat they didn't put this in as soon as they knew the costs of the full bases.

More to the point, you have to wonder how some SG's are going to stop their members sponging all the salvage they earn on temporary buffs

"OK Agent X. You've not handed over any salvage yet and we need just one piece of thech to make the MK 3000 Orbiting Death Ray... What do you mean you spent 6 months of salvage on defence buff's so you could solo an AV?"

Agent X is kicked from the VG

I can almost see this creating more internal VG issues than the 'you will play in SG mode at all times' atittude!

Hmm good point.

One thing I'd like to see is making rare and interesting salvage obvious. I personally find it near impossible to tell, and a lot of it is needed for the bigger things.

Will temp buffs use up rare salvage? If it was obvious that something was extremely hard to get and very useful for the base, people would be more inclined to hand them over for processing into items, I think, especially if you give them a stack of random stuff that can be used in the buff generator.

The interesting thing is, if SGs kick players for using their salvage up... then those players will make their own SG bases, plonk in a buff machine, and happy scrappy. I mean that's part of the whole point, making bases useful for small SGs.

Shrug.

hopefully it'll only take salvage from the player in question, rather than from the salvage store, as the store can be restricted (i think i read that anyway)

It can be restricted but there's no point restricting it if those players aren't putting salvage in to start with as they're using it all on buffs

From what i've seen, the buff's are linked to how rare the salvage is so the really rare stuff gives better buffs

Then yes, you will see a lot of PO'd SG leaders and small SGs with empowerment stations from those kicked from SGs.

Personally I don't really care if they give me their salvage. It's good for the base, but we get loads anyway. As long as they are earning prestige and friendly fun folk, they can do what they want with it.

I know one of my SG fellow-leaders keeps creating stuff with his salvage, which is a bit of a pain sometimes if I'm trying to get something big that I've researched is more useful (rather than building stuff on a whim). But we've got quite a fair amount of tech bits even with his using his up.

heh, we made our telepads and thats all we've made from salvage, i was sorta hoping that the empowerment station required building so i could faff about a bit.

do people change their bases round loads? we've got one design that fits the stuff we have and thats it...

I have changed Goonies base around couple of times completely, but its because of attempts at raid defense. Only one actual raid so far though.

I have also built quite a bit of stuff from salvage but its just testing things for my salvagebuilt items guide.

heh, all i want to do is.... *face plant next to hami during brawlling stage* *go to base* *use empowerment station for accuracy and damage* *go back* *kill hami* *be happy* simple eh?

The empowerment station buffs use quite a lot of components to make. The first empowerment station buffs last just fifteen minutes - I'm guessing the second empowerment station buffs last half an hour.

The number of components used however is based on Test Server - with SG's having 35 million prestige automatically gathered. If the amount of components scales with the prestige your SG has earned, then I'm hoping a small SG with only a few million would need only a few components for a hero/villian to empower themself with a temporary buff. As it stands, those small SG's for whom the empowerment stations were intended can't really make that much use of them.

Why am I not surprised

Is there a limit to how much the storage points can hold? Can they go in any room (other than the entrance)? Think I'll definitely have to get some either way but I'm just curious.

From the Test Server, the storage points (Enhancements, Salvage and Inspirations) all have a maximum containment of 999 items.

They can only be placed in the Workshop and so I'm already designing the Sisterhood base ready for i7...if only I could transfer that 36 Million prestige along with the I7 install!!!

after a lil faffing about withthe empowerment stations on test me and th other leader of my sg have desided its not worth the effert having one in base all the time for to much chance of it being abused by one or two members using a hell of alot of slavage just so the can say i soloed that btw or take down an EB without asking for help

they mght be worth places for events like raids pvp events and stuff like that but im doubting how much use they will actuly be both to small and large groups

There isnt a problem on earth that cant be solved with the proper aplication of hi explosive's

got an empowerment station up and running, plus accumulated enough to build the 2nd tier one the 'linear accelerator', so whats the deal, do they just provide bigger longer buffs than the standard empowerment station?

any figures on how long the buffs last and what the 'tiers' are between the empowerment station, linear accelerator and the next one up (which i cant remember the name of)

Also as the tech empowerment station onlay accepts tech salvage, do we need a magic one as well? gonna get pretty big this workshop :@)

They can also be created in Storerooms. (200k Prestige should buy you all 5 : Empowerment and Storage)

[Oops : Wrong, sorry ]

Problem is that it doesn't recognise which Salvage is which unless Outlaws and Carnies use exactly the same items..in which case it's a lot easier to slap the former than the latter.

As a quick example, from 3 pieces of Malta Salvage I created a boost that increase my Knockback that lasts for 15 minutes after I created it.....

Our SG bought both arcane and tech empowerment stations.

Basically, because you can build any of the components with it, it's an easy way to make our tech ones for bigger things in the future from our tech empower station.

We have also bought the arcane version as basically a way to 'burn' arcane salvage. We don't need it, it's a hassle to find people who want to trade it for tech peices, and so we might as well use it for little buffs from time to time.

As long as my SG is happy with not using the tech version for actual buffs, this is probably how we're going to leave it. The other option is that I just make the tech version when I am going to refine some salvage, and then sell it off after, so there isn't even the temptation of using useful salvage up on it.

Goonies atm concentrate on tech salvage to build stuff, we have 3 tech worktables, and thus we built an arcane empowerment station to burn away the arcane salvage, and to prevent the temptation of using tech salvage to buffs .
