I hate to be so blunt, but I couldnt give a toss about debt - I'm happy to get debt badges. They're needed for accolades.

Hi Guys, I was on last night with a new stalker, trying out some stuff, and found a brute, a corrupter, and a soldier MM, all with "Soviet" at the start of their name, and yelling "For Mother Russia" before running into battle. It got me to thinking - is there any Communist VG's out there? Or a wide "russian" based selection of alts?
-
Hi Guys,
I had just hit level 41 with my CLaws/Regen Stalker, and decided to take my patron power (Captain Mako) into Recluse's Victory, and see how it fares. Hehe. The expression on controllers' faces when a huge water sprout erupts from the earth and throws them all over the place, effectively preventing them from using any heals, because they've never slotted for knockback resistence...
It felt like 3 months in Siren's Call, pinned to a wall by hurricane, was finally worth it. Has anyone else discovered how useful Patron Powers are at turning the tide, so to speak?

Hi! Oh, and watch out for my blaster when you get to Siren's

He'll be the one with 6 stalkers AS'ing him at once, and practicing /em faceplant -
Thanks! SO I'll have to keep my workstation room. But does it need to be invented on my workstation first?
-
Guys, does anyone know if this is an item that needs to be created within the workshop, or a new type of room? And does anyone have any basic prices in mind? With 3 alts,
I've been able to build a base with enough prestige to get a base up and running with a workshop, but the items I can invent are useless unless I was gonna base-raid, which is very unlikely. So, I was hoping to pick up some buffs for my prestige instead. -
Ahhh, was bound to happen really - stops us "ghosting" so much.

What about Auras and Capes?
"So there was this chicken in a cape, glowing brightly..."
"Hehe. Coward, eh?"
"Nope, real chicken."
"Huh"
"Yup"

I have a ton of songs for my Stalker Claws/Regen PvP moments...
"Jump Around" - House of Pain (Cuz I have Super Jump triple single-slotted to escape those damned regen scrappers)
"Barracuda" - (Cant remember) - Always makes me laugh when I'm 3-shotting a blaster who is sniping other villains
"Lapdance" - N.E.R.D. Suitably evil for me
"Breathe And Stop" - Q-Tip When I've hit Instant Healing, and going toe-to-toe with another hero
"Firestarter" - Prodigy - When I'm beating up longbows in the missions in Warburg
-
Thats what I mean. Running back to the hospital is nothing short of yellow. I mean, give me a second, I'll give you a shortcut at no extra charge...
-
Nah, I'd consider that running away. If you've stood your ground, and you're losing, and dead in one or two shots, then why bother running away?
NO DEBT.
Don't drag poinless semantics into the conversation. We're talking about a game where people run away, not a military campaign. -
Being in a team of 6 stalkers and a brute - the brute was called out to fight a tank 1v1. We all gathered on the rooftop to watch. A hero decided to help his tank buddy, and landed right next to the scrap. He promptly received 6 AS's.
Hehe. Oh, so pretty.
I remember also chasing a blaster, as he ran around the map with a scrap of health. He ran back to base, so I landed behind him, and said "Want some candy?" in local. It was priceless to watch him run away again, and into a mob of Tsoo, who werent so playful. -
Over the last couple of days, I've clocked nearly 10 hours in Siren's, and the only time I didnt have fun was when I was the only character in there :-/ Still, the general thrust of this thread suggests that PvP is unbalanced. Sure, I'd agree. In the same way that Rock, Sissors, Paper is unbalanced. True, it can get more intricate, but can I point out something?
THERE IS NO DEBT FROM BEING KILLED BY ANOTHER PLAYER.
Even Silver Weasel, when cornered the other day, ran away with his sliver of health, instead of just accepting defeat. It's unsporting. Granted, I'll happily run through Siren's Call chasing ya (I have Super Jump triple Slotted with TWO SO's and a DO) with "Focus" armed and ready for you to fall within range. But when you've stood toe-to-toe with a scrapper (And against me, a Stalker no less) and you've lost all but a drop of your health, why not just accept it? Would you rather I ran away if I nearly lost? I doubt it.
Just wish people were a bit more sporting, considering there's no consequences. -
/em smirks to original poster
Told ya so. I just passed a comment that the issues that you faced are not sufficient enough to explain WHY you feel Stalkers are overpowered. A vast majority, including people who dont play as a Stalker, agree - You seemed to have got what was coming to you, and appear somewhat hypocritical by using stealth to snipe and kill in one shot.
If you just wanted tactics against Stalkers, you should've just asked instead of crying about something which, frankly, seems fair to all and sundry.
The best thing you can do is get some sort of dmaging aura, like fire - AS doesnt work if you take damage while waiting for the strike to action. Further, if you can magage to stun, immobilise, or hold a Stalker, you can easily crush us with a few attacks.
Now please, less of the tears- it's not like you have debt to clear up now. -

Heck I want my own personal stalker (as an Arch Nemesis) to follow me around wherever I go... Ok maybe not.

/em takes three yellows
Umm. Maybe you dont have a leadership power pool, but there's a purple named stalker right behind ya. He's following you too. -
Dominators are a great team-up for Stalkers. With all their holds, I can hide easily, and use assassin strike. Or at the very least, when being swamped, is able to let me get critical attacks on held or sleeping targets (cant remember which one, too busy slaughtering).
-
As everyone knows, a stalker is dependant on Hide and his critical attacks to be truly effective. Although I've lasted this long (Lvl 24), I've been thinking of ways to be even more powerful, and turn the tables on the heroes who use holds in PvP, and handle minions of 4+. It stuck me today that the Fear Power Pool might be helpful. At first, you can pull single minions away from lt's, placate, and AS. At best, when surrounded, you can make them "fear" you, giving your hide time to take over, and get another AS. Would this tactic work? I'll be going for a respec soon, and might see if I can work that tactic in.
-
The only thing better than a stalker is two stalkers ;-) If you're on Union, give me a tell, I'd be happy to run through some missions with ya!
Mercury Pain - Lvl 24 Stalker
ps If you're gonna go hunt in Siren's Call or Bloody Bay, one quick suggestion - get resilience. The standard technique for many against Stalkers are to use Hold powers, and beat ya to a pulp. Resilience means you're very unlikely to be held or immobilised, giving you a chance for quick escape. But always take a "Break Free" just in case. -
It's good that you recognise that you're gonna get flamed, cuz with a post like this, you probably will. I'll just make a few passing comments.
You were hiding and attacking a stalker. So you're allowed Stealth, but Stalkers aint. Doesnt seem fair? You were using it to get a snipe attack out, thereby do loads of damage. Which is what AS would do, as it's really just a melee snipe.
[ QUOTE ]
I know there are "ways to counter them", but it's a bit strange that there are -no other AT you need extra powers
[/ QUOTE ]
But for me to take down a storm controller, I have to use ranged attacks, cuz I cant get close enough to use my melee attacks. I'm a stalker, have you seen how many ranged attacks we get? So why cant I say it's unfair for controllers to have that storm wave thing around em that doesnt let me get close enough to attack.
And, if nothing else, put it this way - there's no debt. You dont lose bounty. And it's fun! Imagine you're Arnie in Predator ;-) We're crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, trust me. -

Dont even mention PvP

D'oh! You just did.
Anyways, I love superjump. You can move quickly - if you stop, you're dead. Course, I'm a stalker, so I have to move quickly too, once the yellows are popped.. -
I've reached lvl 24 with my stalker the other day, and there's only a little advice I can give you, and something you'll probably have picked up when playing anyway. Everyone I've heard from here say that it's a tight build for the first 20 lvls, deciding on which powers to go with. Personally, when I took the chance, I made sure I got A Stike ASAP, Placate ASAP, and Build Up ASAP. Between these three moves, you've got quite a set to start an attack. If faced with two guys, you're laughing. If three or more, I would generally get behind the hardest guy, use build up, AS to make sure he's down, have my next target already lined up with Placate, then use a strong attack. At the minute, I'm using focus slotted with damage, and I can pretty much make sure he's dead after that attack hits too. With one guy left, you'll make short work of him. If there's more, whittle it down to one guy.
ANother piece of advice though. If you get the chance, partner with a dominator. Your attacks have a chance of being critical if the minion is held. -
Watch base-ketball. Plenty of trash talk there.
ANd nope, dont get wound up unless I get Ganked when my system is lagging badly in the middle of teleport... -
Why? Honestly. Why did you feel the need to repeat what a bunch of others are saying in other posts? Why couldnt you just put this post in another thread?
I still enjoy the game. It's a little depressing to see all these people fold like a cheap house of cards. I'll miss playing with guys around, but I aint gonna stop playing it. It's almost like you want other people to feel the way you do.
I'll not argue why I like Issue 6, cuz I know I cant convince you. But please, try and keep the new posts to a minimum? There's plenty of threads around to vent your frustrations. -
When PvP was announced, I tried to build my Empath for PvP so he can last longer than a minute. I've ended up focusing on End and Health Regen, taken Defense and tactics from the Leadership pool, and because my char is electic secondary powers, I focusing on end drains too. Electric burst is pretty painful now
