Turned 6 with my new scrapper now, and i'am going to get my first travel power at 14, and that will be fly.

So i wonder what i should choose now at lvl 6 as the preskill, either hover or air superiority? what will i get the most benefits from?

I'am currently a Katana/SR Scrapper.

Air Sup, another attack for the chain, good for PvP/

Hover is just plain [censored].

Wot he said. hover is rubbish for a scrapper.

Okay cool, thanks for the answeres =) Air Superiority it will be then.

unfortunately since ed nerfed hover as a useful battle mobility power its nto really much of an option (unless you know you're gonna team with kinetics).

air super, its the best power in the game

worth mentioning since you are a katana scrapper that using air super will cause you to put your Katana away. Which might be a little annoying in the middle of a fight

Yea, i´ve heard so, but i hope it wil not annoy me to much =)

hehe, hopefully not

Not sure if you will like it, I remember having jump kick (I was new to the game!) for Uzzi and everytime he used it, it put his Katana away. It was fine for a couple of levels, but because it was in my attack chain it started to annoy me as I'm losing time between attacks. Lucky for me an I5 respec came along!

So I guess the only way you'll find out if you don't like it or not is investing a power into it. Hopefully it will be what you would like.

Well, jump kick is a crappy power anyways, but air superiority offers great damage mitigation, so in later levels it's used mainly when it's more important to keep one thread out of the fight instead of dealing maximum damage.

That's true, and come to think of it, it will combine very nicely with Soaring Dragon (Knock Up) and Golden Dragonfly (Knock Back).

Well afaik all pool power attacks make weapons go away, and I believe air superiority to be much better than jump kick because the animation is so long and bad in jump kick. Somebody said that jump kick tends to knockdown things that are not supposed to be knocked down, but I have no real evidence about this. Id do remember bouncing paladin with my measly low lvl scrappers jump kick, though.

In PvP I consider air sup to be better than jump kick, but Im not a PvP expert .

Personally I say Air Sup too, it's too cool, especially for grounding those blasted flyers in PvP!

Though I've heard some people say to take hover for the knockback protection...

If you want to kill bosses safely Air Sup is good in any build, flyer or not. Hover is for.......... um......... kinetics with no ambition??! I dont know really, I dont think hover has much use these days

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

My Kinetics went Air Sup too and hasn't looked back. With Haste & and couple of Siphons up you can have a mob constantly tumbling in the air.
Hover I wouldn't bother with. Yes knockbacks are annoying but Air Sup is so much more useful

My kinetics has both hover and air super. Both are useful powers in her build.

Nothing more frustrating than getting ready for a transfusion/transference and finding yourself blasted away from the mob. It's also very useful in the sewer trial - when I didnt have Hover I found myself on the hydras head far too often!

I think Hover is still a useful power for some classes of character - but I wouldn't include a scrapper in that!

Yeh, I've been knocked down in PvP with Unyielding on once, because I got hit by Jump Kick .

That's been a known bug for a while now, the devs haven't done anything about it though.

Should fly or air superiority get more slots? if yes what? and how many?

Posted

It depends. Fly needs 3 slots in it anyway for it to have any kind of decent speed but if you intend to use Air Superiority in your attack chain it needs 1/2 Acc and 3 Damage SOs in it.

Posted

Okay so 3 slots in Fly with increase flying speed right? and about 4 slots in Air Superiority with 1acc and 3dmg enchants?

Not going to do that yet, i need to get some more opinions on this don't want to do anything very bad yet :P

I go with Air Sup on my scrappers, knock down a boss and keep him down.. Also as Superspeed is more suited to scrappers , cos you can dart into a fight and dart out, i would consider taking hover as a ways to scales walls in places like Boomtown

Posted

I would say air superiority is the better choice for a scrapper. I almost always choose fly for my heroes. I prefer hover for support heroes (defenders, controllers) and air superiority for melee heroes. Hover really has no role for melee heroes while air superiority provides a handy early filler in the attack chain and useful knockdown.

Hover is good for a scrapper for one thing. When taking on GMs you can sometimes use it to stay above any of those high damage foot stomp moves. And also good for the mito clearance phase when doing hamidon, unless you have fly with plenty of end rdx.

I have it on my main along with AS and fly. Will probably drop it if I get another respec, but only becasue there are other powers I need more. Currently one slotted for speed.

Okay thanks for all the replys but i still need more answeres on how many slots fly and air superiority should have? and what kind of enchantments should i put in them?
