I haven't been in the PvP zones nearly as much as I would have wanted but I want to get a villain up to PvP because when ever I want a serious battle with the villains on my hero 9/10 times we out number them so im gonna try to even it out a bit or atleast have a villain waiting for when the heroes out number the villains.

I was always swapping back and forward depending on the numbers but not many others do, be nice to have at least one more who does this. Its sad that a lot of the players in sirens seem only interested in playing when its a peice of cake due to overwhelming numbers (both sides) Once proper resistance is organised the majority of the none regulars seem to leave. Personally I dont understand what people get out of easy kills.

I'd like to switch over to rebalance the sides, but i've decided to play heroes on union and villains on defiant. That said, i do have at least one of each on both servers who are low level and they are both fun to play. Couldnt agree more with the leaving when your getting beat, not that i havent done it myself, getting constantly hammered isny much fun. Last night was a pretty good lesson in sticking around, we (heroes) outnumbered the villains, then it went to just 2 heroes and maybe 8 or more villains, then on to a pretty balanced side. Seems the best pvp nights i've been involved in, the sides swing around then find balance. Course, if people leave when they are outnumbered then it takes longer for a balance to be reached.

If I had knockback protection, another travel power than Teleport and didn't run out of endurance after two or three attacks, I'd probably take Fallen into Siren's again.

"A Scrapper is a lot like a chainsaw. Somewhat hard to handle, incredibly dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane."
Yip i not been in SC for a week or two, been playing alts here and there. still only pop in occasionally for a quick battle with any one going about. Im quite a casual PvPer. But must say the times i have been in i have not heard much insults being thrown about
But from what i gather it does happen unfortuantly. Folks just need to not get carried away, as the game is for all to enjoy, and not to get verbal thrown at them its jsut not nessasery. And the pvp areas are teh same as any other area, is no reason for folks to get all hyped up due to it being a pvp area insead of pve.

I do wonder what sort of issues a player has when they only go for easy kills - I guess they are the sort of person who gets an FPS and the first thing they do is find the cheat for god mode...
On topic, what's acceptable in terms of PvP combat is wide open to debate. However, something needs to be done about some of the broadcasts that breach the game's EULA. This isn't specific to the PvP zones, but it's more noticeable there.

Most true stalkers go after the easy kills because they're easy kills.
They get a kick out of it but sadly most people ar'nt really into that.(which might explain why there's so few high level stalkers.)
Anyways I say I'm rather polite in PvP, if I see a villain and a hero fighting I wait and hope that hero wins so he will be all "WHOO I RULE!" and suddenly get my sword throught their torso and then I'll fall of my chair laughting.
Personally, I'm not convinced the PvP zones have been well designed at all in CoV/CoH, considering it took them a year to arrive.
I've had some very bad experiences in PvP, one incident that springs to mind is when I was badge hunting one of the zones. I slapped on /hide and put my stealth/SS on to try and get in and out as quick as possible, as well as trying to pick a time I hoped it would be relatively quiet.
Got 2 of the badges and was on the way to the third when the inevitable happened. AS and face plant. Taking it in good grace, I said over broadcast, 'Guys, i'm just here to get a badge quickly and would appreciate not being attacked'
A couple of people replied, saying no problem etc but the Stalker who AS'd me and the Corruptor with him made no comment. I waited for them to diappear and used an awaken... BAM, they came back and hit me again. I sent tells directly to them asking if they could leave me alone and got a rude reply. I then mentioned there was no point attacking me anymore as they wouldn't get rep for it.
Off to hospital and back to the badge, BAM, despite the fact they could get no more rep from me, they camped the badge and killed me 5 more times. Luckily, I was swearing like a trooper over VG chat and 4 of the PvP experts from my VG turned up and we proceeded maul the two morons from piullar to post and managed to get into the hospital and chain faceplant them as they rezzed.
Cue the onslaught of swearing and obscenitiy's from them over broadcast while everyone else in the zone laughed on at them getting a taste of their own medicine after they all saw what they were doing to me. they annoyed me enough by doing what they did in the first place but the fact they didn't like it when it was done to them says it all.
On the opposite side of the coin, had a similar situation the other day when me and a couple of VG mates were hunting mechs for the badge. We'd used /hide and went in while the zone was quiet and were hutning away when I got hit by the inevitable AS. Asked over broadcast to be left alone and everyone in the zone replied, including the guy who AS'd me, agreeing to it, telling me the best spots for mechs and generally being pretty friendly, even to the point of one stalker who accidentally AS'd me, offering to drop his toggles and let me kill him.
I think the simplest solution to this is to try and draw up a 'Code of Conduct' for the PvP zones and ask if Bridger can sticky it on the PvP forum. Of course, it is totally optional but once it's up, people will soon learn who agrees to it and who refuses to honour it.
To kick things off, here are some rules I think should be adhered to by all honourable PvP'ers
1 - If someone states they are badgehunting, leave them alone. This should NEVER be used to trick people though.
2 - If somoene is fighting a mob, do NOT attack them until they've cleared it .
3 - Do NOT deliberately TP people into mobs so they get debt.
4 - If people are trying to have private battles in a PvP zone, please do them the favour of not interfering. Likewise, if someone does interfere in a private battle, you need to accept that this is going to happen unless you take it to the arena.
5 - Broadcast banter and boasting is part of the fun of PvP. The obscenity and abuse that seems to be becmoing common there is not.
6 - If someone is not following rules, tell them about the thread so they can see what is classed as sporting and unsporting.
Can anyone else think of any other general rules?
Uhm there are rules already posted for PVP in at least one zone anyway "Its heroes vs villains" posted by statesman himself about Recluses victory.
To be honest I think this applies to everywhere except Warburg where its "everyone for themselves".
Don't get me wrong it would be nice for the devs to clear PVP up, make people play nice, but they aren't going to, so its easier to just accept [censored] people.
