I've been finding it a really tough job to get teams once Moonlit hit 30-ish.
I've been finding it hard to get on teams for Booster and he's Kinetic. He just isn't self sufficient enough to solo so I got bored of him. I think the major problem is that the server populations are quite low at those levels in CoH. Also there certainly isn't a shortage of empaths.

Aye shouldn't have problems getting teams with a kinetic really. Not these days, maybe if it was back in the beginning of CoH's days. Then it was almost impossible, you'd almost have to lie when people send you tells asking if you are an empath defender and say 'Yes' and hope they wouldn't notice that you weren't lol 
too be fair, coh has been pretty quiet generally lately. Ive been finding it harder and hardede to find teams outside of sg's and coalition

A solution.
1) Find seven other likeminded similar level empaths who have found that the invites have started drying up.
2) Form a team.
3) Everyone ABs, Forts and CMs each other in an orgy of buffage. An aura cycle is established.
4) Your team of regen blasters runs through missions in a display of violence not normally seen outside of the last half hour of John Woo's Hong Kong films.

I will play withany one who is polite, a bit chatty, and fun.
But, at lvls 30+ i find empaths a bit redudant to be honest. Much rather have kinetics, rad, dark, or to be honest any other defender (exception - TA... that really needs a sort out).
IMHO empaths are highly valuable to bad teams as back up, they are highly valued by low lvls who dont know better and get hypnotised by green flashing lights, but experienced and good teams, at higher lvls? they dont want to have to NEED heals at all.
I play a lvl 35 rad defender, and in a tight team I dont need to bother firing of heals at all. In a bad team, i am spamming heals constantly and the team would be far better off with an empath.
Fairs fair though, the haul to lvl 20 was tough, and the only defender people wanted was an empath... now i have my revenge! 
Oh and if you think 8 empaths together is a nice team... think of the other combinations (8 FF or sonic would be unhittable and unholdable, 8 kinetists would blast through anything, 8 radation has to be seen to be beleived, even 8 TA would floor all mobs accuracy, damage, and damage resistance).
I know what you mean. Im finding it hard to find one too. What is going on? I have had to face switching toons or the dreaded solo which Jack isnt suited for. Im getting a tad frustrated that he levels so slow because I cant find a team. Infact Gand here has read my comments about lack of teams with my emp a few times.
WellI have to disagree with the point empaths are redundant high levels unless you are trying to prove a point they are not needed. We help AV missions to be sure and we dont just heal. CM is needed for even the high level teams. As is fort and RA.

Oddly, while that happened to me for a good while after CoV came out, I've hit a streak lately, and I can't STOP getting invites. Thanks to random tells in the last few days, I've had non-stop teams, and have added four people to my global friends list. I logged on the other day onto one of my Controllers meaning to solo... in the space of about two minutes, I got one blind invite and two tells. The tell I followed up on has turned into regular teaming with a Kineticist, including a successful respec and TF in the last two days.
Maybe I'm just having stupidly good luck? Or does everyone want to team with a Grav/FF for some reason?
That said, last couple of times I tried finding a team with my Kineticist I had no luck at all (and she very much needs a team), but she's still at a lowish level where not everyone appreciates how good they are. That was a while before my recent streak though, so perhaps I should try again.
Well I have topped my poor old empath for not wanted in a team. I joined one with my AR/Dev blaster, entered the mission and was told, "sorry we wanted a real blaster" and got kicked from the team.
What I find amazing is that after being basically chased by people because I was an empath for 30 levels. I get AB slot it up, get the leadership pool and slot it up so I can become a team build monster. Only to have teams not want me. I have now heard the ultimate as well which leaves me fearful for my tanker. "We don't need a healer, we have a granite".
Imho empaths are invaluable in high end missions. Try one of the SS TF's on invincible with a full team of lvl 50's... Empath FTW.
The problem is if your teaming with a group that is on a lower difficulty, the team doesn't recieve enough damage to make and empath that desirable.
conversely, the auras and Fort are highly usefull in teams of all difficulties and are yest often overlooked and unappreciated by non empaths.

I've been looking on the 1 AT Coalition chat on Union mainly. In almost all teams I've been on recently most people have refused Speed Boosts after a few missions.

I wouldn't say emapths are invaluable. I would say they are damn useful but most other defenders are just as useful. The empath has the advantage over others in that it is the defender that needs least awareness from the team to help, hence the 'bad team saying that they need a healer' thing.
However good mob clustering from the rest of the team with a Dark, Rad or Kinetic and you will get the same or better results as these can boost damage more significantly for a team than a empath as well as their other tricks to keep you safe.

Fortitude is definitely good, Recovery Aura is universally appreciated, the others I usually overlook.

I converted someone to the church of SB yesterday with my Rad/Kin. It made me feel all fuzzy inside.

Some people just don't like Speed boost, especially in Bloody Tunnels (tm)
Generally if someone refuses it due to "not needing Superspeed" I'll educate them about the +end regen & +recharge aspects and see if they still don't want it.
As for Emps at 30+ I'm always happy to see one in the team. Carni has no self heal at all and invariably she gets beaten to death over time rather than one-shotted by mobs, usually when PA drops. Having a granite tank means nothing if they aren't capable or willing to spot you're in trouble and able to taunt it away. An Emp is far more likely to help out from my experience.
My Kinetics (only level 21 at the mo but I don't see it changing) loves when an Emp is on the team. It means the team will never run out endurance and it gives me free rein to get into close combat range and not worry too much about the blasters etc behind me. I'll try to keep the meleers topped up but knowing there's an Empathy Defender whose "got our 6" if and when Transfusion misses is great.
I totally love empathy, of course I hit 50 more than 6 months ago (my god, its never been that long?!?!?) and being a controller my main job wasnt to heal anyhow, but wow, both RAs will turn a team in to regens, and the buffs, i mean, defence to ALL attacks, even Psi, +Dam and +Acc, and thats just Fort!
Totally love empathy, much rather have an empath over a Kin, true Kin does make fights go a hell of a lot faster, but I just love the Buffs/Heals of empathy
Well, ANY defender is always a valued member of a team. My point is this:
On bad / inexperienced teams, empaths are head and shoulders above anyone else.
On good teams, empaths are a little less desirable than other teams.
Only my opinion. After 30lvls playing a tank, i certainly loved empaths, but felt a whole lot safer basking in green radiation or dark debuffed enemies.

Possibly but there doesn't seem much choice these days, on balance the endurance is unneeded if they stand in the right place ( transference ) and the recharge may not be worth it if they don't like the speed and already have a nice attack chain. Sometimes ( especially for squishies ) the wrong positioning = death.
Personally I will always take a speed boost when offered. I spent a reasonable amount of time pre-supression with superspeed permanently on as my regen scrapper. Superspeed is essential to my anti-sapper strategy on my tank. Also running a kin defender with a build entirely addicted to recharge ( stacked Siphon Speeds ) means that you always go really fast. So going fast doesn't bother me.

I find this really quite surprising... I've been playing a forgotten alt a bit for the last few days (mid 20s storm defender) and I have been inundated with tells asking if I need a team, can I come and be healer etc
lower levells of coh are still busy but hi end invites appear to have tailed off...

I have to say, I've had no problems with team invites in CoH at 50 (D3), 35 (PB) and 1-13 (WS) recently. If anything it has been slightly easier than CoV.

Wow, I thought my AR/Dev blasters have had it tough, but that's seriously harsh. It's true, I do have difficulty getting onto teams with my gunmen, and enforced soloing has become the norm for me now, rather than the exception. Still, on the occasions I have been invited I've never been booted (or even mocked) once they've seen that I'm playing what many seem to think is a fatally gimped and almost worthless toon. For what little it's worth you have my sympathies bro.
What has happened to the poor old empath? I have not been able to get teams with my empathic defender for weeks. The few teams I have found running tell me that they already have 2 empaths so don't really need any more.
It seems that there are either no teams that need an empath or no-one willing to team up with me.
Have I just been unlucky or does other empaths have the same problem?
