Things we learn from the movies 3, If an old friend who no one else has seen turns up, they are in trouble with the law, organised crime or they are some kind of villain.

I always thought 2 was : All beds have special L-shaped top sheets which reach up to armpit level on a woman but only to waist level on the man lying beside her.

Way to change the subject!

In return for that awesome display, you now get No. 3!

Could be worse, back in the days of the Hays Code, if two people of opposite gender where to be seen in bed together, both had to have one foot on the floor during filming.

Which number is the rule then, in which if a couple make out in a horror movie, the boy (or both, but never just the girl) gets killed?

Posted

There are rules pertaining to the mortality rate of non-virgins, those about to lose ther virginity, and nubile young women exloring a dark house in lingerie...

Posted

Well, there's #13:
13) If staying in a haunted house, women should investigate any strange noises in their most revealing underwear.
#66 states
66) Any woman who has just witnessed her father ,(brother, husband, fammily member ect) killed right there infront of her, will never be traumatised , morn, or be effected in anyway to resist making love to the hero who saved her!

1 and 32 touch on it in the Horror version
1. Firstly, never drink or do drugs and stay a virgin. Boring!
32. Remember: Showing Skin=Death.

But that seems just to be a corollary; not just a rule Raven

Hmm... things we learn from movies 4: ALWAYS take a bigger boat.

I would've put "Never trust the nerd/geek" at number one.

Oh and how can we forget, removing a woman's glasses and hairband makes her outrageously stunning?

Also. Do not be blond. Ever. You will die.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Actually, not in a traditional Hollywood movie. If you have two heroines, one will be blonde, the other brunette. The blonde gets the hero, the brunette gets killed or, at least, gets nothing. Blondes have more fun, and all that.

You also have the 'physical deformity = evil' rule, unless the hero is hideously deformed and is the 'monster with a heart of gold.' In the latter case, the villain will be stunningly handsome, and the hero will be turned into a normal, attractive man before he gets the girl at the end.

Also, Rule #73: If a known person falls from a great height, their body remains remarkably intact on impact and doesn't turn into a rather messy and unrecognisible puddle.

I find it's the other way for me, glasses make me stunning and frame my face nicely, without them I just look... odd.

That's because you keep walking into things....

Theres also the fact that most Horror Movie villains are like freakshows, you need to put them down twice, as soon as the hero relaxes, the bad guy gets up again, even from a fatal heart wound.

How do red heads fit in to all this?

Posted

Depends on the complexion.

Red heads are either sassy and strong, or sickly and freckled.

Both will likely lose out to the blonde, but the sassy ones are more likely to win than the brunette.

Of course, if the sickly and freckled one let's down her hair/ takes off her glasses....

ZOMG!!

Point.

And if the slightly mousy one with weak psychic powers suddenly over-exerts herself...

PHOENIX!

Interesting topic!

Looking over my characters, I've got a roughly equal number of male and female ones. I've RPed with almost all of them, but I'm not sure whether I'm any good at portraying the opposite gender.

One thing that could probably be counted as an odd quirk, though, is that I don't like revealing alts. So most people probably don't know that most of my characters are, in fact, me.

Does that make me a bad, secretive person?

No, but it does make you someone who'll hate Global Friends.

I have more fun rping as a woman - even tho I'm a man.
But I do stereotype a bit and go for either smart n sassy or - actually, I just go with smart and sassy - and slightly flirtatious

As men I have a tendency to either be a little on the dumb side or dull and 'straight-laced' - the butch thing is fun to see with other characters - like tattoos

And I'd like to know if how I RP actually shows up as a bloke typing in the manner of a super heroine / villainess - discuss

I don't know your characters, so it's a little difficult to tell.
