non PvP AT's

Just wondered how everyone feels about the less combat oriented AT's defender and controller do in PvP (Dont know about the Cov AT's, i dont have that game yet). I've only spend a few hours in the PvP zones and the results have been mixed. As a kin/elec defender I seem to draw a bit more endurance off enemies in PvP which sort of balances out my other weak spots. It seems the best hero AT for these zones would be the blaster.

Only really if you're an ice blaster, soloing. Built in holds and lots of slow really kains them down.

But, to be honest, probably the most hated AT in the arena are stalkers for villains, and controllers for heroes, seriously, holds + rad debuffs = the win, plus controllers do containment in PvP - so if you're aggressively minded, then bloody heck, controllers for the win!

Controllers and Defenders can fare really well in the arena, perhaps even being able to outdo tanks and scrappers if you throw in enough toggle droppers and the such like - proper mental!

A Blaster with a Snipe I think would do better solo in a PvP zone where everyone's out to get you, an Ice Blaster's just an in range target solo and will be swallowed by teams, a Sniper can really hurt his target before bringing in his secondary.

Besides it's the secondary that makes a Blaster a real PvP Blaster.

Edit: changed for clarity, I wasn't saying what I wanted to.

Im sure blasters must work in pvp, though I have a theory it depends on the map.

In bloodybay I was able to hunt quite well, and had lots of room to move around and keep at range, picking my targets carefully, in sirens its more close and personal and anyone with a hold power can dominate Spurr..

And if they havent got a hold/stun power, then they usualy have a good few more hits/defence than Spurr and can just walk up to him and turn him into a novelty glove puppet

Im waiting to test my empath/rad defender in sirens to see if proton volly combined with SJ works..and Im slowley building up Vaacume my grav/kin controller to unlease holding death upon the squichy humans!!!

Speaking as a regen scrapper the only two ATs that I fear are Controllers and defenders. Sure others have killed me but only defenders and controllers make it possible. Tanks I hate but only because I don't do enough damge to hurts them, and they don't do enough to me, and taunt is horrible. Scrappers the same really. Blasters knock my one toggle off now and then, but as my best powers are now clickies I don't really care. As for the CoV ATs I have only really faced the stalkers, they only get me if I'm held for the follow up strike, yes two thirds of my health in one blow hurts but I can regen or click heal that away almost instantly.

Fear the endurance drain, its hated by all, and loved by me and my teammates

kinetic defenders ftw

I feel the stalker is the best AT in PVP JIMO of course. As for those who do not appear to be suited for pvp zones I think they may suprise all with the correct build and pool powers. All ATs have their strong point

Stalker isnt "the best" PvP AT, thats a controller imo, however it is far from the worst in PvP zones, in an open map with loads of room to disappear get hide back up, it is the best. As for non PvP ATs, i agree with botty, there are no useless ATs, the most satisfying thing i do is challengin a tank who thinks hes the indesctruble AT, and wiping the floor with him in duals. And the shame that they get from beeing beaten by a defender............priceless 7

Oh and spines stalkers ftw

I've said it before and i'll say it again. Us controllers, when we're good we're great, when we're bad we're terrible.

I love controlers and regens in the PvP zone they think there gods so they make mistakes and I nial em. One shot controlers and one shot regens maybe 2 shot.

mind/storm controllers for teh win!

but brutes seem to be doing well in pvp, take time to take down and can take out most people before they go down.

so in a fight, who would win? controller or brute?

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.

A good Mastermind with the Dark secondary is often a surprise star of PVP.
Scrappers & regen's aren't neccesarily the gods people make out. Integration maybe stops you from flying around a bit, but when so many powers toggle drop it actually counts for squat. Any player with a slow, immob, or debuf can rip a scrapper apart in short order. Playing a scrapper often seems a little too similar to having to play a stalker. Not very heroic at all.

Pop one BF. Turn on one toggle. Be back to full effectiveness.

Thats why /Regen is good at PvP, it doesn't have to faff around turning all its resistances back on.

I wish people would make up their minds... Regen is terrible for PvP... Regen is great for PvP... How am I supposed to know if it's any good if you lot can't make your minds up?

Don't listen to people who say that /Regen is bad at PvP then. Thinking that is completely out of whack with in-game reality. A cursory run through a PvP zone would show people that.

But I do run through a PvP Zone and nothing happens.

Okay, there was the one guy who ran away after I hit him once, but I don't think that counts.

And the guy who one-shotted me on the boat, but that's hardly encouraging.

Well, see, your not interested in PvP so what does it matter?

Ive played alongside all the Scrapper Secondaries in a variety of combinations. I have never seen /Regen out performed by one of them in PvP.

Not being interested in being involved in PvP is not the same as not being interested in PvP. And besides, if I get jumped I'd like to know if I have any chance. I farm missions in Warburg from time to time, if someone wants to have a go at me while I'm there, then that's fine and it's interesting to know beforehand if I have a snowball's chance in a blast furnace.

Let's face it, I know a lot about religion and mythology, but I don't actually partake in it.

Regen is very good for PvP as you can heal your self the thing you need to be carful of is people that can fear you and stalkers as they can one shot you. If you wanted to see how good you are you could always give it go I would recomend Sirens Call as it is the most fun of all the PvP zones Warburg is a bit pants IMO I just dont like the fact its every one vs every one.

If you get feared, that can be nasty true, holds, slows, sleeps anything that stops you from clicking is the killer. And as most of them are sent by the defender or controller, thats why I hate them. Immobilize is piss easy to get out of providing you have TP, which is why TP is becoming something of a must have for PvP builds. But with only one toggle it takes me no time at all to be back to work.
