Agreed, before you were only allowed 1 pet having 2 of them made it a little helpful, dealing with other targets, slowly, as i wiped out the Lt/bosses. Still rubbish though.
Also, electric fence, at a low level it is useful, but now im 50 i never use it, rubbish damage, and i have no need to immobilize when i have 2 holds and they are usually dead anyway. But, it is the first secondary power so i have to have it. Could be replaced with a diff power, or maybe it could drain more end as you get higher.

Secondarys (especialy the NRG) are great for blasters, im having no trouble wasting +3 lvl mobs with my sonic/nrg,
(invisibility is your friend) soloing invincible missions is a breeze (except for nemesis )

Ooooo I love Rogue's secondary's as an NRG Blaster. I'd wager I use his secondary's more than his Primaries. hehe!
On a useless power note I had Whirlwind with Gale and only ever used it to a) Change cossies in a WonderWoman type whirl or b) annoy my fellow teammates by bouncing their targets around.
Needless to say it's gone now.
Can I add powers I hate in here. Lady Rogue has (or had before I respecced it out!) the "Crippling Axe Kick"
IT had the most rubbish long activation and animation time and all my friends used to laugh at me for using it. Looked like a blimmin Can Can dancer!!!!
Needless to say that got binned too.
And can I add the Crey Pistol in here too ? Not strictly a power but it's completely hopeless.

there are loads you think pointless but i found out you SERIOUSLY need them, i used to think caltrops were a bad idea but they've saved my life many times keping enemies at bay,very useful in a sticky situation, but my controllers illusion power flash and blind ARE useless

Do I look like a scrapper or tank? Why on earth would I want an aggro inducing, sound sfx scraping down wall thing, that only causes minimal damage with no other beneficial effects, such as disorientate, slow, or whatever?

Indeed. Although it needs to be fully slotted with 3 acc and 3 end redux to make it viable. It's a massive endurance hog and if those pesky stalkers stock up on defense then even with 2 acc you miss...alot.

Keep moving about, and if you're doing nothing for extended periods - keep hitting Aim. It's not a great solution, but it works.

Aim is always handy - as there is not point slotting for damage or endurance drain on lightning field, if you can spare the slots then 3acc 3 end redux + aim should be more than enough!

You can probably drop an EndRed or two if you pick up Power Sink later on in the Elec Manip set... if you never exemp down, that is.

Not a great excuse for a power, particularly if you're not keen on PvP (besides, there are other ways to deal with a stalker).
I got it early and I had it until my first respec, and the only time I used is was for looking cool in Atlas, otherwise, a waste of space.
As for the */elec melee weapons, I just wish I'd got them first time round instead of post ED.
Indeed there are alternative ways of dealing with stalkers. But if you do happen to get rooted and then jumped, if the toggle hasn't dropped and ur defiance bar goes up, the numbers can fairly fly.
Also as power-sink would be unavailable if you are pvp'ing bloody bay, the 3 end redx are kinda handy.
I really like the electric secondaries. Haven't got to lightning clap yet. Is is worth taking?
I find a high acc lightning clap really useful in a squeeze; either for running away, or for quickly helping someone out. A high dis check helps keep mobs back for a while too.

[/ QUOTE ]LC isnt the best power ever, but it is a stun, and the only other stun elec gets (discounting EMP in the EPP) is thunder strike, LC is a far faster way to mez more foes.
+ points: very high chance to KB as high as boss ranks, ok chance to stun (up to lts but only about 50% to stun from what ive tested), low end cost, good weapon to escpae with in pve and sometimes pvp.
- points: does no damage, not guaranteed stun, elec control powers (i.e. 2 melee sleeps, 1 melee stun/AoE, 1 melee hold, 1 PBAoE dmg/drain, 1 PBAoE drain/siphon end, 1 PBAoE toggle drain/dmg) are all pretty much melee or PBAoE (Point Blank Area of Affect cos some1 new will read this at some point), so the whole concept of KB and especially AoE KB is inconsistent with how elec works.

Web Grenade, which I used a lot when soloing at low levels seems to get used less these days (maybe because I'm teaming more) and caltrops are fairly ineffective in large teams with a good tank or a couple of scrappers (mobs rarely get into melee range with me).

Usless powers? Look no further than Group Teleport. What muppet put this one in. It snatches me out of my own teleport to take me in a direction I don't want to go. Regardless of what I wanted to do. Group fly is bad but GT is terrible. The only way I can see it being of use is as a mastermind "popup" style attack or as a last ditch attempt to run away.
Maybe I missed a meeting or something, but the Timebomb from the devices powerset seems to be fairly pointless to me.
You can't lay it whilst using invisibility, so unless someone ELSE can grant invis on you you can't lay it in the middle of a group and leg it. As it's a fixed 15 second timer before detonation, it's hard to see how you could lay it and then reliably get an opponent to come over and stand on/near it till it explodes. Even if you use caltrops/web grenade and a stopwatch, I dunno, to me it just seems way too fiddly to be of any real use. More so given that you can just use multiple Trip Mines to get a similar (but far more reliable) effect.

Simple: set Time Bomb > Corner Pull > Retreat > Drop Caltrops on mobs > BOOM. You can do variations with Auto Turret, if you're clever. You can also use it against AVs/Elite Bosses if you have a Tank with half a brain.
It's all a matter of timing - and there's nothing to say you can't use TM and TB in combination in this way.

But you can with cloaking device, which is in the devices set. Combine that with super speed for extra stealth, and your nigh on invisible and can still act freely. Can't say fairer than that! It's dead powerful to. Time it with a nuke (providing you not assault rifle) and You can say goodbye to almost anything. Boom.

Can only speak for ice. Many of the secondaries for my play style, in pve, are close to useless. If I played more pvp or blapper style I could see them being fairly useful. In my own build I left out frozen fists, chiling embrace, shiver and frozen aura.
Frozen Aura I think is total [censored] in any circumstances. I tried it on test just to be sure, slotted with 6 accuracy SO's, all green (this is pre ED). I found a mob of minions who where -10/15 to my lvl. I missed about three quarters of the mob, maybe more. This wasn't sometimes but every time.

Note to cryptic: Sleeps suck on anything but a troller. Ice blasters are still not trollers. Give us something better already. There are some damn good powers in Ice primary and secondary, it's a shame that there are some really [censored] ones in there as well.
