Hamidon: 7th November. Further Details here.
As far as I could see, there was no GM pulling going on by anyone. Spacemonkehh was standing next to me during much of the whole holding phase, and, while he may have been attacking (not sure on this, as I don't know which of his powers are holds) was not doing any griefing. There was a certain amount of plonkering going on from certain people, and it would have been far better dealing with it by ignoring the individual concerned, as it is blatently obvious that he does it to get a rise out of everyone, that to egg him on by shouting at him.
We did not fail because of people agroing GMs.
We did not fail becuase of people attacking hami during the holding phase.
Supprisingly, we did not even fail because of lag.
We failed because in a post-ED world, there were not enough of us with holds.
Possibly when more people have respeced/slotted for ED and others have returned from CoV we will stand a better chance.
Thanks to all the organisers. Despite the lack of winning, I had a right laugh.
Dead Calm's Defender Manifesto
Just to make clear i not refer to him as a griefer to this raid but his whole attitude during the raid surely makes me more than angry. So let me rephrase that i not blame him for griefing or for making the raid fail since i had my fun as always bit what i mind is the continuous provoking attitude which if u want i can easily post from the logs here. I was more than gald to see a lot of people turn up and dissapointed that simple things like reading the plan or at least knowing what a hold is and separate it from an immob (stone cage is not a hold) were not to these people knowledge. People attacking Hamidon and using taunt breaking the aggro 3 times?! i mean comeon we say it over and over and by now i am sure most know that there is one tanking team is it so difficult for some to just stay away or ask team leaders what to do...as for the monkey like i said KoS for me if i see him for his behaviour and attitude which is far from at least decent.
I had a great time and enjoyed 90% of the raid and the only thing that leaves a sour taste is these people that got to appear to every raid and pull attitudes like that. However like i said in the raid big congrats to all for turning up and doing the best to have fun, and Pyra and LDF u still owe me a mudfight
Just another post to say thanks to all who organized and marshaled the teams for the raid, especially Energon for leading the team I was in and making it very clear what we should and should not be doing.
As some above me have said, it was made clear before and during the raid what the plan was, and some people seemed to enjoy screwing up that plan. A GM in the Hive when a raid is going on would be sensible, seeing as its a monthly event that a lot of people attend (100+ this raid, I believe).

this pretty much sums up my thinking the morning after, its the attitude of some mainly and also those who were ignorant to the plan that really did for us, i mean there were people in the raid who didnt even know that the instructions were coming over the request channel. think this was highlighetd at the begining of the raid when quit a large number of players mistakingly believed that running into the jelly and attack hami head on was the plan.
im also disapointed that people didnt take the time to at least read up on the hami raid and came in with the mindset for a frosty mish (perhaps thats a bit harsh).
I dont think crying foul of ED is the right thing to do, a lot of people even two weeks after the release of i6 have yet to respec an ED build, this means your at a servere disadvantage, hopefully by the time the next raid comes around those participating would have sorted there toons out. I may be wrong but someone did mention that they have had a sucessfull Hami raid on the US servers post i6 so it cant be impossible if this is the case. Think we just have to accept the fact that the holding phase is going to take a longer now and to be paitent.
for the most part I had fun smacking the mitos and would like to offer up Eric as the Hamitank for next time if you need him.
I'm firmly of the opinion we would have been able to finish the raid without the disturbances and the lack of patience. ED had an effect, but not a surpassable one.
Sorry never manged to get to hammi last night, sorry to hear you never manged to get the jelly destroyed.
Hopefully next time tho

Yeah I'd like to thank all the organisers for setting up the event. Most of it was enjoyable though the lag (can we not get a series of "raid" servers set up that kick in when more than 20 heroes are on any one given map in order to share the load?) was a little annoying to start with, what with hami dissapearing, at least for me.
With regards to the griefing. I didn't really see spacemonkeh doing anything. There was someone else there though (and you all know who) who was behaving like a muppet in broadcast and trying to convince people to do other than what was planned...
Anyways, I'd be well up for another attempt soon...

In life, everything has pros and cons. Even the "unnamed hero" - if he hadn't been at the raid, I wouldn't have laughed as much as I did at all the comments from everyone about him!
Another thanks to the organisors. Well enjoyed it.
I am happy that I am on the piccys that someone took.Yay.
See you all at the next raid.
The people who were in the hold group and taunting were pretty bloody close to griefing in my book.
The problem is that many (most?) people don't read the boards at all, so have no idea that there is even a plan. Even if they have read it, you don't get a feel for who should be doing what until you've been on a raid, so new participants are likely to be a tad confused. When they are in a team/SG with experienced people it is easy to explain to them how everything works, and what they should be doing. If you explain to people exactly what happens when Hami gets to 50% health unheld, they tend to not be as enthusiastic about running headlong into him. A few of our team last night were new, and the rest of us were fine explaining how things work to them. One of my SG mates was new to it, so (him being an ill/ controller) I pointed him towards the PA team and they looked after him.
If someone is being a total plonker and arseing about on request, then it should be the team leaders who ask them to kindly sling their hook to a different channel (idealy in a tell, as it denies them the attention they so crave), rather than all and sundry.
Once you accept that a couple of people will show up with capes and auras, and a couple of people will attack hami during the holding phase, and a couple of people will turn up with a bit of an attitude, and that none of these things will cause the raid to fail (especially on a smaller one like last nights), it becomes a lot less stressful.
We can do it again, and we will once we've switched to I6 slotting (I did it after the raid last night, and those extra slots in PG certainly make a difference to my hold output) and got a few people back from CoV.
And even if we don't, I get to do uber-multi-rezing with howling twilight, so hey, it's win-win.

u know DC i couldnt agree more with ya..I have to say one of the people accidentally taunting hami pm me and apologised for not knowing what went wrong and is acceptable. The thing that i am really fuzzed about is that by now the whole community knows how big of an event it is going to Hamidon raid...there are poeple that never visit the forums and they wait for this event. What is really really annoying is these people not bothering to ask the basics and to have a slight idea what the raid is all about and they think is a place to go and unleash burn on Hamidon and get the HO. And still everyone talks about it and they cant wait to going one but seems they not bother to do well in it they just prefer going to a big event unprepared.First hamidon raid we pulled in EU i spent 2days! inside the Hive looking and dying to learn a few things on my own just so i wont look like a fool when time comes to move around there since i was one of the 2 organisers. At every other raid 90% of the people prepare for it at least one day before. And they bother ask what who where and how. And there are people out there coming to a raid for second time or even third and still not got a clue of the most basic things like slotting requirements, capes, auras channel issues...why on earth some people need to come on request to say anything they need to say when we clearly say from start dont use request at least 4 times. And some still consider this attitude..is not attitude is clearly about keeping control and having some certain ability to monitor things and people to get an idea.I not want people come to a raid with no cape or aura for my fun but is for their fun and everyone else fun. We not say not use request cause i want request for myself to have nice purple letters but its necessary when some important things to be passed down to teams ans leaders need to be highlighted request is perfect for this...and finally can the Devs issue some kind of in game forums so finally some of the people ignoring out of game forum get a chance to grab some essential stuff about community issues??? after all the whole thing is communiuty event and the devs will only gain from such a thing instead of loosing.
And thats TG moaning seriously i am fuzzed that some 5-8 people need to be in every raid that will make something go wrong or just come to create some issue...taunting hami last night in hold phase imho broke the whole cycle of hold..people not knowing to taqrget through a pet i mean things like that are insane considering we used request to inform holders and yet i could see a lot just sitting there not spamming holds just cause they lost sight of hami...
Man oh Man we need make Hami a PvP zone and try make a raid while Villains attack now that would be fun....using taunt to aggro on villains and other direty tactics...like GM pulling and herding making madness in hive with like 400 people in there smacking each other!!! hmmmm *takes out axe of bloodlust and starts preparing it for havoc*
with i6 i would also like to see a return to the lvl 53 hami-o as a reward for all the time, effort and sheer bloodymindedness of us all in not giving up. Its not as if we dont deserve it, and with E.D. we need all the enhancing we can get. see you all next month?

Yup, just want to echo what Harv says and thank Energon and Dead Calm who helped an otherwise-inexperienced team with all their questions.
Thanks to the organisers for all their hard work, marshalling that many people at once can't be easy at the best of times.
Would just like to post my thanks for everyone who turned up, It was a nice effort.
Griefers had nothing to do with us failing, it was 100% down to ED. The idiots just made it [censored] annoying, and I would like to take this chance to invite them never to turn up at any hamidon raids again, for their own safety.
Still, I had fun
I just hope nobody thought I was there taunting just because Im a tank and was in the holding grp. My Block of ice from epic pool is a hold after all.. Been used in one succesful hami raids so far.. Got this nagging suspicion some people wouldnt know of it, in one raid sometime I was ordered out of the group despite my explanations, I followed orders like I always do..
From my viewpoint Hamitanker lost aggro twice during holding phase and I thought once because the hamitanker crashed.. Cant be sure cause I kept hami targeted all the time and hold on auto..
And in my opinion we didnt fail because of griefers..
Nope, I lost aggro twice because two tanks taunted hamidon. Not sure if it was by mistake or not. Believe it was Super Tank and Caterine something.
Not that it really mattered, we didnt have the holding power anyway.
Aye, I know the Caterine tank did it by accident and apologised later..
Yeah thats fair enough, everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
Thx for organising the raid, I had fun and no death was incurred.
I knew there would not be enough people to hold Hami so I respect'd a hold into my main char to help out. ( You can see me floating above the group in the holding pictures ). That gave me more to do in the raid and didn't leave me standing waiting outside the goo.
Of the main offender who was griefing, basically he was all mouth. As far as I am aware ( I must be the only one who actually talks to him in civil manner ) he was just stating an opinion based on the little knowledge he had accumulated from his time in Drek. I know he was Drek'd to about level 45, because I know the ones who were involved in the process. Because of his lack of knowledge he comes over very badly, BUT in my experience of him he does not learn by his mistakes either. The main problem is that he was being verbally abused by a lot of people, and that does not help matters.
Anyway I have gone on enough.
I'm in the on next one.
hmmmm regarding what Dime said i have to say something on this even if i come across different...I apologised to Lui (yes i will say the name) for verbally abusing him in the past.I got him on team and had a chat with him to get to know him and see what goes on. It appears he is a kid (15 years old) and pretty nice to chat to if u teach him in civil manner. However due to his gameplay and the rep he got out of it people verbally abuse him including me in the past as well which i deeply regret. As far as i am concerned i decided instead of maybe abusing him to try talk it out with him and maybe give him a chance to grow in this community and maybe learn from his mistakes..cause after all he is a kid and u cant expect the same as from maybe people my age or older. However i think we should set the example by giving him some space and see the good side of this community which till now has punished him enough and outcasted him for PLing. Like i said i am no hypocrite and in past i have done it myself as well..abused him and made fun on his expense but i am only human and by getting to know another side of him i found out there is more to him than just Dreck so maybe just giving him a chance and laying him off a bit and trying teach him the right way to go and making him a part of this community we might change something and we might discover something more in him...as long as we give him the chance...so i kindly request people to lay off him a bit and i ll try just talk to him and maybe teach him a thing or 2 regarding all this community that to me at least feels like a family for reasons many people know. I am a big fan of giving chances just like many people gave me a chance in many parts of my life despites mistakes i might have made...i am sure more people feel like this so just make a silent truce for now and just let him be and whoever feels like maybe can give him a push to right direction and maybe listen to him as well...besides we all got a hero somewhere hidden we should just give a chance to the people around us as well a chance to bring their own hero out.
(kinda cheesy but thats me)
Thanks to all who organised the raid,my first raid and I enjoyed it,was quite a view from the drop zone.
I'll definatly be at the next one thanks again

Catiene Winters was on her first raid and taunted by mistake (she was on the same team as me and it wasn't deliberate). I sent a tell to Super Tanker after he taunted and he said that it was a bind that accidentally went off. These things happen

*talking in general*
Great stuff that we can discuss these matters in a civil manner, find out the truth and realize all that there is often no need to verbally abuse someone Even better if people are able to apologize
Sometimes tempers may run a little frayed in a massive endeavor like hami-raid or a TF.. It just happens.
I also didnt notice anything wrong from spacemonkehh. Only ever saw him in the goo just watching.
Imo it was that other individual - powerleveling impersonated - who was causing trouble.. I'm not exactly sure on everything he did since I have had him on ignore ages ago. (not allowed to name names) Im sure he made several other ppl's ignorelist last night.
At some point when the mitos were done or almost done, the attacking group had to move out of the goo cause hami had noticed them. Unfortunately they ran towards two quarrys that attacked as a result. At that time I had just arrived and was hovering high, saw it all. No griefing involved in that incident at least.
I agree that the reason of failure was mostly ED, dont know how much, cause I thought that there were plenty of trollers in the previous raids as well, yet they failed. (I was on the first successful one on defiant and 2 previous ones before that).
Well all we can do now is gather more trollers, debuffers and boosters.
Lastly, TG you've got guts even if you wear pink!
I escaped the eventual Mito spawn easily at first, when I was hovering high I heard TG shout "We can do this!! Fulcrum shift!". Felt a sudden spike of heroism and flew back in
