Wow, we all must have made a great impression on a new player like yourself

Although your other post does have the hallmarks of... Flush? Thanks for the mention anyways.

Oh my I left you and Flush off my list....

    Flush

I'm sure I have this quote right, I remember being in the middle of a "not going so well" Hami raid and Flush just comes out with the line...

"I haven't laughed as much as this, since my granny fell off a roundabout"

I couldn't play for about 5min for laughing at such a surreal comment

Names that I haven't seen in such a long time, especially SSR.

It's a whole different game now... sadly much quieter than it has ever been....

I remember the last days of beta and the raves on the rooftops in Atlas as everyone counted down to the shutting down of the servers, making way for the live EU game to go ahead, everyone setting off every power with an effect, clicking away like mad for maddening effects ( think I still have pics of it somewhere ).... most of the people I listed were on every night and getting in a team was easy, everyone seemed to know everyone.

Flashback, cue wavy dream like lines covering my vision.... memories......

Smirfs and Chicken costumes in Atlas
Wilf dinging 50 by slapping monkeys,
Tailman in a small pair of Speedo's,
Yo Mamma's particularly bizarre fetish clothing, leopard skin trunks, cowboy hat and a cigar !
G-Zeus's detailed, documented plans to defeat Hami, don't think they ever worked though
Subsequent, invitation only secret meetings for private Hami Raids
Tainted Greek me and G-Zeus's long chats while sitting in Atlas,
Miss Chief always ending up leading the teams, you know you wanted to, your a megalomaniac,
My tryout for the "Awfully Nice Chaps" Super Group with Laustin, and being asked how to make perfect tea as one of my acceptance questions,
Ether Knight, for well just being Either Knight, fine all round player,
Sir Scott Rail and people thinking his actual name was Scott,
Sugar Rush, for putting up with people thinking he was actually a she because he played a female
Perma Hasten, gone but not forgotten
Being the first person on Defiant to get the "Geas of the Kind Ones" badge due to the super elusive Sally and me with to much time on my hands,(putting a pic of Sally in my Avatar to wind up TG)
Tainted Greek's constantly being called a cheat because of how successfully played in the new PvP areas, even though he could only play as the game was written,
Me and G-Zeus joining him as it was fun winding people up, and then all the fallout in the forums again
Oh NO giant monsters being dragged to the Portal Corpse and the Forum fallout that ensued... leading to police drones being placed there,
Finding someone milking the Drek mission for XP and then killing Drek when they weren't looking.....
Tanks being able to herd nearly the whole map into one spot,
Lui, who had to put up with as mush abuse as he the grief he sometimes caused... He was Ok in my book though,
The first time you did the Frostfire mission........

Yee gods I could go on, best not though............

    Da Old School!

I remember a lot of the names listed here. I had lots of fun teaming with many of them on a regular basis. Since my ever so quiet exit from COH to WoW ( I hate goodbyes ) I still pop in every now and then to see how things are. I played from mid beta, and after the big end of beta shindig on the rooftops of Atlas, I played on the live version and for a looooooooong time after for hours and hours every night, when I wasn't playing I was spamming the forums with mindless drivel ( "Under Atlas's Trousers" thread from the old forums, if anyone even remembers that ) , In the end I was mostly chatting to G-Zeus whom I miss and TG, who you cant help but miss, in Atlas for hours and hours and hours on end right into the weeee hours of the morning...... the thing I miss about the game more than ever is the people, a few of my Guild members in WoW are ex COH players, that in itself shows me how much the people matter in these online games. I do really miss the game. I will no doubt look to play more COH in the future so look out for me.

Happy memories of Perma Hasten, non timed Phase Shift, No ED, getting your cape for the first time, the first paragon dance parties, riots on the forums when people dragged monsters to the Portal Corp for a laugh, getting my First toon to 50, lots of chickens dancing in Atlas Park ( No I'm not mad I have the screenies to prove it ) ..............more nostalgic waffle

I still read the boards, and its nice to see so many names you know.

The long and short of it is, if your having a reunion of sorts, I would feel honoured to be able to pop along....

Smooth, if you need help, Dime can get all the badges without any help a just short while, I know because I have done them all solo at different times for myself and others. The only one that takes a while is the illusionist badge, I even solo'd that one in PI by farming a master illusionist. The fakes are easy and I know all the spawn point around PI, though the spawn rate seems to have been lowered recently. All the others can be got by either Dime or as Dark Patriot ( nice big AOE's in nova form ). To be honest Stranger needs the accolades as well...and his fire imps can also be used to get some of the badges....

Any time you want help, you know where to go... always willing to help a mate...

  11. PM Justice Father. He pops in and out every now and then. He would be more than happy to give you all the required files to start you off....
  12. Gratz Ace, nice one ( or should I say two )
  13. Welcome back, well I for one will be please to see you, hope there was no unhappy reasons for the short stay.
  14. There are also less people on the Euro servers than the US servers so getting enough people together is also a problem, let alone players above level 45 who dont mind debt when so close to getting to level 50

As for HO's I have 4 slotted already, they are useless combined into 50+ or 50++ as the increase is minimal compared to the effort of getting them. There is also a finite amount that certain AT's can slot where both aspects of the HO are in the powers you wish to slot. Sometimes the hassle is not worth it. That said if the raids are once or twice a month I would still turn up for the community spirit.
  15. Before the boards got wiped it was the general consensus on multiple posts and threads, that the frequency of the Hami raids were getting out of hand. At one point people were trying to arrange them every other day. There was a sort of unofficial vote and it was decided by most of the board posting heroes that the first Monday in every month would be a good time for all the server heroes of the required level to band together and have a raid. This would mean that you are more likely to get the required AT's to attend as overly frequent raids have low turnouts.

I personally see once a month as fine. I personally have about 4 HO's ( one for each of the successful Defiant raids to date ) and to be honest the length of time it takes to hold a raid combined with the randomness of the powers in the Hami enhances, I cant see me doing it more than once or twice ( at a push ) a month.
  16. Well we all have differing opinions and I for one would keep ( and do ) invincibility on. If the tank is good you will not get agro above the norm. Also if you are running Unyielding then you have effectively lowered your defences and are now more prone to be hit, this is where invincibility will help to increase your defences and help negate the decrease in defence.
  17. Dull pain is not just a heal it boosts your HP value. In the old days you could perma it and it would double stack. In fights I would have more HP than the tank. Alas those days are long gone. It is a useful boost before taking on an AV though as it can boost your HP by 1000hp or there about depending on your slotting

Unyielding is good as mentioned BUT for all its good it is a minus to your already nerfed defences, with unyielding running you are also MORE prone to be hit. Running it with invincible negates the minus to the defence but it attracts agro, not as much as the tank though. Invincible still has to hit buffs as far as I remember but also is more effective by a bigger mob around you.

Unstoppable is not worth it. I have never seen the need for a power that could leave you severely depleted.

If you want any specific questions answered let me know. If you want to see how well a power works in action and your on defiant let me know also. My names are in my sig
  18. Count me in.

I can either come as Dimension a mito clearing scrapper with a hold for the holding phase

    OR

Dark Patriot a PB with nice firepower, 4 outstanding repecs to play with and group fly.....

Either way I'll see you all there... as usual.....
  19. Firstly I would like to apologise for the lateness of this post.

Now that is out of the way I would like to congratulate G-Bomb, or, G-Zeus as I have always known him, for getting ( another toon ) to level 50. G is always fun to team with, something I have been doing on and off since the game went live, so he is possibly one of the people I have known the longest in COH. I met him as a newbie level eight G-Zeus in a Frostfire mission while I was playing my first toon Dimension, if I remember correctly.

He punctuates his game with pit stops for ****, tipples and tea, is a great player, an all round nice person, always willing to help and give advice, well liked and respected by all, but most importantly a good mate in the game.

G-Bomb was made to look like his ideal woman, a six foot Swedish Blonde babe, with very little on, so you can see the mentality of the person in question.

It's has been an honour teaming with you mate.

Here's to the next toon and more teaming...

    Gratz again....
  20. Sad to see him go, one of the people I have teamed with for a very long time...... a nice person, a good sport and a good friend in the game.
  21. I would like to congratulate my good mate Boudicea for getting to 50, for those of you who know, he also goes under the names of Miss Chief ( another level 50 ) and Qinetiq, so this is his second level 50. As Boudicea he laughed death in the face, mostly from the floor, and very regularly. His gung ho attitude with his scrapper Boudicea earned him the nick name "The Suicide Scrapper", which I am proud to have bestowed on him.

He has always been good fun to team with and I count him as one of my best and longest mates in the game.

    Congratulations.

Oh and the magic moment Ding

the thing is if you were given the opputinity and powers sets you would do exactly what TG does.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, actually, I wouldn't. I'd use TP-foe, but in a completely different way to the way TG does. I believe TP-foe should be used to open a fight between a LARGE group of people, not to start AND end a fight between 8 heroes and 1 villain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is how you would choose to play, its not the only way to play.

I cant believe some of the arguments in this thread. Its like a group of kids stomping their feet when they don't get their own way or things do go the way they wanted.

Hello, its A PvP zone, it matters not if its eight on one, I have been set upon by 4 stalkers all at once, and still didn't die, you just have to work out your own tactics for these events. I don't care how someone plays, its an open zone, if you don't like to get hit don't go there.

So what if he has TP foe, So what if he TP's you into a box. He did it to Momma and he got out loads of times.

I have been in the PvP zone with TG and the amount of grief he gets when he uses a power, comments like "Its' not fair", "TP foe is not fair", Hurricane is not fair". Its like a bunch of children.

It's a tactic. It's a legit method of play, like it or lump it. He never created his own powers, he never invented new ones, he doesn't use any enhances that you cant use. So how is it unfair ?

Its the same as being able to walk up to someone without them seeing you and hitting you for nearly all your HP in one go.

If I were to start moaning about four stalkers on one scrapper you would tell me to stop moaning.

Check out Rockjaw's closing comment on this thread before it was locked Another grumble

So can we just play the game, and remember its just a game, and can we drop all these type of arguments please its getting tiresome.

  24. You can be sure of that, and you know I will look forward to it. Hope you are having fun.
