so you're saying the intention is to have only 1 GM and yet sometimes there are 3, so the code is operating counter to the intention. sure sounds like a bug to me .

I doubt that's intentional tbh, it's got to be a bug.

It's not the threat so much as the lack of reward, all GMs are reasonably rare so they should give the mad XP. Nerfing them was pointless and now that they're upping the spawn rates in I8 it'll be even tougher to get a pick up group and take them down, they'll be so common that now one will care. I'm glad that i already have all the GM badges because getting them from I8 on is going to be a major pain.

Like Kryten said, when i set up the badgers i set up a monsters channel too, it just didn't work as people weren't sure which channel to use as GMs do award badges for the most part.

I'm going to go with a shaky analogy:

if you want to advertise something effectively then you'd take out an advert in an existing well established newspaper? or start a new newspaper and put your ads in that?

I'd suggest that if people want to hunt GMs then they join the some of the following existing and well established channels:

DefiantBadgers (natch)
Defiant Events
Global
Forumites

when they spot a GM put a shout out across a selection of these four, you'll reach most of the population of the server.

why? the latest raid announcement thread had remained within the top 5 posts of the defiant heroes part of the forum since it was posted, I don't see why that isn't visible enough.

I have a Lysome Exposure (Enahnces ToHit and Defence Debuff and Accuracy) open to any reasonable offers.

What can i add that's already not been said, well for one if anyone thinks i'm going back into bloody bay soon they can think again.

Thanks to those that turned up, got about 25% in 2 hours 30 mins, will make this a recurring event for anyone that needs the badge. every Saturday and Sunday from now on at 12:30.

I'm torn between SC and BB, as in BB like dix said there are a lot of longbow hanging around, but in SC i can two shot most minions.

hmmm, i reckon because SC is a lot more populated than BB (so a lot more open to getting griefed), that Bloody Bay would be the best location.

There's a chance that we'll roll over into Sunday, i don't know what sort of tolerance people have for this sort of thing. so if we do well go on Sunday 19th at 12:30 as well so come down then.

Reformed is for killing 1000 longbow and is open to heroes.

The easiest way to get is is to go to a PvP zone one player is a villain with confuse, he/she confuses the hero players and they kill the longbow, rinse and repeat about 100 times.

would anyone like to get together Saturday 18th of November middayish and try for this badge. We'll obviously need a villain, and for all their effort they will receive nothing but gratitude, or as much inf as their hero can handle (I've got loads).

I've been in RV a lot over the last few weeks getting badges, I have no sympathy for the people in there that grind for XP and complain that they're getting ganked. You're at a big disadvantage even being in RV before lvl 50, you may be auto SK'd up but you still don't have the full powers you'll have when you're 50.

Grinding for XP in RV is boring and i personally think there is something wrong with someone that would pay for a game then decide they want to skip arguably some of the best content for it in the 40-50lvl range.

honestly go do missions, it may take longer but its more fun. no on really cares how many 50's people have so power levelling your way there is cheating yourself out of the game experience.

that's my little rant and it's got nothing to do with the fact i can't get a heavy when i want one.

I find it a bit specious Plight that your citing Arena Channel spam as a reason PvP hasnt taken off in the EU as much as it has in Korea and the US.

Surely its got more to do with the low server population and the imbalances rather than people arranging GM hunts and using to many vowels on Arena. Arena is spammy, in fact this discussion has made it more spammy, people are just saying annoying things now because they know they will get a reaction which speaks volumes about some of the people that use the AC.

the whole subject was probably best left alone.

Thanks to everyone that turned out, we got him on the 5th spawn it took about 50 mins, just proves if you hang in there you'll get him.

I will be hunting Jack in Dark Astoria tonight from about 6pm. If we could get a couple of teams in the zone and basically pummel Eochai until Jack appears.

The thing with going up against odds and probablilities is you have to be consistent with your approach so sticking in the same zone and working it seems a sensible method, also the few times i've heard about a Jack appearnce has been in DA, so who's with me?
