Why is it such a grind getting to the big 5 0?

Don't get me wrong - love the game, good SG, but getting XP at the mo is impossible! Have the Dev's nerf'd it?

This sort of thing is making me think it's not worth playing, you seen people power level their way to 50 in no time when I've been stuck at 41 for a month.

actuaully lvl 39 i think it is an upwards the average amount of minnions was 4000 to get next lvl , although the xp demand is higher the amount u need to kill does not change. unless this system has been revised but that was sort of the way it used to work.

from those high lvl all i can say is team team team .if ur not being invited make a team 4-8 players , but bigger the better

trust me nothing much amazing happens when you ding 50, its way more fun actually getting to 50 then being 50.

AFAIK it still takes exactly the same number of even conning minions to lvl each lvl from 41 to 50.

Have to agree with Kejoxen, the journey is much better than arriving. Both my 50's have been dropped like hot potatoes after dinging. My controller is still in AP I believe since the night he dinged, my blaster got a reprieve for S4 but hasn't been played either (he's still in Galaxy iirc).

Don't give up - the 40-50 AV run is the best bit of the game, it flew past for me!

Yeah, I had more fun 40+ than 1-40. At times it was awesome Went on one of the first invincible 8-man missions after I5 was launched - a bit "ooohhh, when is the gameengine gonna come and slap us in the face for being this cheeky?!" in the beginning. Then... well, I'll just say it was mayhem and carnage

I reckon it very much depends on your circumstances.

I was lucky enough to have a consistant and constant circle of friends (all names in the THANK YOU post in the General Discussion area) who were all pretty much the same level and all different AT's. Always enough of us to fill a team, sometimes two.

As we were all the same level (ish) we just powered through the late 40's in about a month and for those 4 weeks we had someone ding Level 50 every couple of days. It was an amazing experience to witness it and it really helped with your own levelling because you weren't concentrating on it.

Instead you all concentrated on getting the NEXT person to Lvl50. Then suddenly when it was your turn, it wasn't that far away.

It was brilliant, some of my best in game memories are of one of us dinging, swan diving ritually into the next mob, then we'd finish the mission and all leg it to Atlas park to form lines to Miss Liberty and await the arrival of the newly dinged hero to come and officially level up. Then we'd all /e Praise for a few mins, then fly to the top of the Atlas globe to party!!!! while IceWarm played our requests on Evolution Radio.

It was fab having that tradition.

Brilliant times.

Best thing is, it's happening again now as our second round of toons hit the late 30's early 40's.

I can't wait!!!!!

Blueside Level 50's.... Knightingale (Def), Rogue Elevenex (Blast), Lady Rogue (Scrap), Mr Infinity (Tank), Miss Infinity (Troller), Knight.Shade (WS), Knight.Bringer (PB)

Next Project: Psiryn Psi/Psi Cor Global Handle is @Knightingale

I'm in the same boat Jade. Stuck on 39 for ages now. Really must stop playing those dastardly villains and get Carni doing the AV missions in the 40s.

A month!? Composure was stuck on 39 for roughly a year, maybe more!

Ok that was because I stopped playing for a while but still

People can come along and tell you it takes no time at all and you should just enjoy it, but in all reality it depends how long you have to play the game.

Don't believe them I say! I only have about 3 hours on a weekday to play due to my work situation and I certainly wont be on every day. Weekends aren't much better, sunday is usually my longest stretch but it's pretty random how long that'll be.

I expect it will take me a long time to ding 50 and I've been playing since US release. But I still love it, I'll get there eventually.

Short?!?!? Never.

My blaster took nearly 700 hours to hit 50, playing 2-3 hours each night, maybe 3-4 at the weekend. It was only shear pig headedness that made me trudge to 50. Controller was done in about half that, basically by learning from the mountain of mistakes with my blaster.

And regularly teaming with a fire tank had nothing to do with it?

PS 1 more till your 1000th post! you spammer

I found the 40-50 level gap the most enjoyable and one of the quickest to do. Admittedly it involved completing all the shadow shard Task forces along with some of the others but it was an absolute blast.

The AV misions at that level are great. Just hang around PI and randomly shout out that your looking for a team...

I heard fire tanks where great for an easy xp ride? That one wasn't, kept having to save her firey behind. The way I dragged her to 50, unbelievable .

(My backside is so toast if a certain party reads this )

It's 1001 now, the symmetry .

fire tanks used to be good for XP farming

700 hours is an awful long time. It took me half that with a troller. i would have thought that blasters would be quicker than a troller (probably wrong though - in the middle of tryin it just now)

Well Blasters and 'trollers and fire Tankers are all good and well. I've no idea what AT the OP is but I'm a defender here :P

Mixture of things with the two times. Blaster was my first alt in this game which was my first MMO. I first found out about TO, DO, SO at roughly lvl27/8. I had things like brawl and powerslide 2 and 3 slotted. My attacks where slotted 1 acc, 1 dam, 1 recharge, 1 range, 1 slow . I finally got dragged through the respec at lvl32 (before the time of free respecs). After that my blaster took off.

My controller always felt less squishy than my blaster, after epics at 41 he could take a lot more damage than my blaster.

I should point out that the fire tank was not for xp farming, yes we often cleared maps but we never farmed maps, maps where always completed. The fire tank was simply what a friend was playing when I finished my blaster and moved onto my controller, thats the beauty of sk'ing.

Yes there where times early on when I felt my contribution was making little difference to how a mission went, though I think defenders suffer similar feelings at times. But my controller never sat back and waited for the tank to finish, I always was in the thick of things.

Depends on AT and gaming style but dont give up as others have said. Your nearly there.

Yeah sorry I should have made myself clear, speaking as an empath that had to try and keep that troller standing on more than one occasion I know how much erm "enthusiasm" Cry has as a troller

PS See didnt we all tell you your graphics card was knackered?

Thats the problem with in jokes, others don't seem to get them .

It was actually more fun for me when the fire tank turned back into an empath, I got to take over tanking duties....hmmm AV's....

Oh and a bah humbug to you to, bloody graphics cards

Thanks for the input all - still think the Dev's are evil - it takes far to long to lvl.

Dev's if your reading this: How about doing something really nice this Chrismas and giving everyone a little (perhaps optional) lvl boost as you did on the CoV beta?
Go on - you know you want too - it's Christmas afterall

I hate my level 50, If I wasnt so posessive, and obediant to the rules , you could have mine...
...but you cant

Honestly though, don't rush it, there isnt any level 50 content, and the aim of the game is to enjoy the content on the path to 50, on retrospect, I still wish Sweet was level 35, I like it when TF's were new, and there were so many missions to choose from!
