I'm too scared to post, everything is too large for us poor EU players

I really like the hollows arc, no matter how many (million?) times I go through it, I always enjoy it.

I really think that Mind is the set for pure control, Earth being a close followup. Plant, in my opinion, can be used in the same way, even without the single target or group hold powers Seeds of confusion+roots, in effect locks down a group totally and is available even at the lower levels.
I would just stay clear of gravity, fire or illusion for total control.
Earth control does have access to a fire based power, and iirc it does light oil slick.

Either way, a few months ago nobody would have actually minded too much even if it was a rather large 'wall' of text. Atlas was populated with new toons, new players or random costume contests.
The point is, really, that the OP was doing something constructive that actually helps the game flourish, unlike the farming idiots that constantly spam the zone with "[Random Level]; Looking for farm team" rubbish...
I would rather be hit with a wall of text recruiting for a SG any day, over what is currently littering Atlas.

Of course, the "let idiots die" method of Emping has been my approach since 2005
I just leave the team, and allow them to carry on without me these days, usually after I've watched them walk into a big pile of debt..
I don't think people like that really ever come to their senses, they all live with very tight ideas about how you have to play the game, similarly to the outdated (yet annoyingly returning) logic of "we need a healer!".

What annoys me, also, if it's a known issue perhaps they should actually do something about it?

Rarely does a member of a team fall when I'm emping for a team However, when the team is fully buffed and raking through a mission with little or no damage, I find it highly irresponsible for an Empath especially to just stand there waiting for heals, hence the odd blast here and there between rebuffing.
I got the usual "HEAL ME!" rubbish, and also abuse for spamming CM on the squishies...
Suffice to say, indeed it was not a team of vets, whatever their 'veteran' badge count was..

A good point about Mass Hypnosis, though, is that it's a wonderful way to start any fight without any alpha strike, Mass Hypnosis is, also, a totally aggro free power. It has many uses that are often overlooked because of the 'soft' control aspect of it.

To the OP, honestly I know exactly what you mean.
However, the best thing you can do is weather the storm and ignore these so called 'vets'. Honestly half of them aren't, they are just powerleveled idiots that take it upon themselves to throw ancient, elitist ideas at everyone.
I myself, who have played an Empath since launch, have been given mighty abuse lately for daring to use my blast powers from apparent 'vets', checking their badges...level 50's with not a badge count over '60' between them, although many of them including the 'veteran' badges lead me to the conclusion to leave the team and add them to global ignore!
I have found so many times that MA has done nothing but allow the, usually low profile, powerlevelers and farmers to get a sense of notoriety that they don't deserve.
If, in future, you get any unwelcome or ugly responses to your SG recruiting, do simply ignore them. There is no place for unwanted, threatening behavior in an MMO, similarly to real life.

Dark Astoria would be my favourite zone, if it actually had anything in it.
It seems a very large zone to just have the occasional mission spawn there.

I find that to be the same with my mind/empathy.
Omnia was my first Character, created shortly after Eu launch, under a different name of course
She is empathy/psi and it's a shame that her psi blast powers are more or less redundant. At least on her counterpart controller, her control powers have a use and mean I don't have to run around like a headless healer!

Seriously, CoH is made to be played with just about any AT combination. It usually comes down to the player, not what they play.

I have deactivated and reactivated my account so many times it's beyond my memory!
I am always drawn back to CoH, it has nothing to do with the community, really, because I barely ever intergrate myself very well, I just love the game even with all it's flaws.
Every time I hit 50 I always grumble a bit with "hmm, what nows" but it never gets me down long before I'm grinding another alt!

Rad blast is one of the weaker Defender sets, and sonic can be quite a slow if not coupled with a higher damage secondary.
Sonic is really a glorified Force Field, it has some decent debuffs, though, so they do make the set have it's own flavour.
Rad trollers are, obviously, quite different from /Rad blast defenders. Rad blast has it's plus points, it has quick attacks that have decent debuffs with them, however it lacks any really depth and is best coupled with Rad primary, in my opinion.

I love my ninja MM...:P

I find that just forcing your way into conversations works wonders
It can be hard, more for the fact that CoH is very poorly designed to accomodate RPing, to start interactions but once you get going it's very hard to stop!

I am still of a mind that TA would be better as a blaster secondary...
Storm/Ice is what it's all about.
Is the most fun I've had in a long while. Especially Solo.
Storm always gives me a smile when I see mobs flinging all around the screen thanks to my lovely tornado.

I have the same trouble in sharkhead.
I honestly think since the last issue, I get struck by every crash going...

I simply cannot play BS because the powers have such violent names 'Disembowel' just gives me the creeps...
I am a big loved of claws/Willpower, is lots of fun and easy soloabitlity.
