I'd say sad to see you go, but I think both parties were in the wrong.
Personally, I think if Sin has had enough of the game, fine. If he wants to wash his hands of everything, fine as well. But he should've given us a chance to set up a new shop before he closed the old one

ps. I can say that I do not accept the use of such language - which I wasnt aware of until explained afterwards - in pvp, in internet or anywhere else for that matter. Im still pondering what to do about this..
ps. I thank the swords for the possibility to participate in the raid anyway.. was my first raid from defender side..
Whilst not aware of what exactly was said (English is my one and only language, unless you count Australian of course!) it obviously touched a nerve with Sin. Trying to discuss and sort it out in the middle of a base raid was probably not the best approach for resolving the issue.
Once it was realised what was going on the base raid came to a quick end (we were being handed our butts anyway). The damage has been done and we have to pick up the pieces and move on.
I'm sorry to see Sin go, as it's never nice to lose members of a SG. It is a touch frustrating that the website was taken down so quickly. (Sin - if you read this, can you please email me and let me know what is required to set up the website elsewhere - or is everything now lost forever?).
Hopefully the friends that Sin has made, both inside and outside the SG, will hold more sway than what happened last night.

Cam, I was thinking that it might be best if we set up a new forum on a free hosting place, such as www.invisionfree.com. This way we can guarantee we wont lose anything should someone go off. I think deleting our forums was a really crappy thing to do. No matter how angry he was, not all of us were involved in it & he did something that effected us all.
Anyway, we put all our eggs in one basket & we've paid for it, lets learn & not make that mistake again.

After a good sleep and some slapping (literaly) some sence back into reality by a friend, i did made a big mistake of taking down the forum that fast. Blind anger makes you do weird things unfortunatly.
But my choice was clear, it remains clear. Surely some dissagree and claim its just a game.. I clearly see this specific issue differently. The text was clear and multiple spammed in /b and even in ootcs channel, thus not anything near 'just a joke'. I refrain myself from flaming, i just dont wanna be near those people.
Anyway, my friend is taking over Encore account for the time being, still has a few weeks active. I will revert the website tonight, although someone next to Plight need a mod-status for a bit of 'control' on the site. (to ruby, i never trow something away that has value to me, call it a anger-panic-button).

Knowing what was said, I don't think it's anything you could fairly get worked up about - especially given the context it was said in, and who it was said by. There's no reason why a baseraid between two old friends like OotCS and the PDs should have been anything but lighthearted, and I think for the larger part it was - it's a damn shame that one person's complete overreaction to a throwaway comment bind has not only soured the mood of the event, but also cost an SG their entire site and forums. I don't think I'm alone in hoping that there aren't any further repercussions resulting from this.
Edit: Well, at least one part of the damage has been fixed now.

I respect your decision and I am myself torn what to think of it, the messages were in keybinds and meant for pvp.. That somebody can think of insulting with them as funny evokes mixed feelings in me. I wouldnt want to walk away from accomplished institution like PDs because of essentially one person (I respect the name and shame rule here) but I have considered it, just didnt want to rush things last night nor I want to backstab anyone. Now we're wondering what kind of ban can he get away with since he already had an existing warning..
ps. It may depend on the context, but personally I dont consider the messages in question as suitable in any context.. I have myself walked away from Virtuafighter.com, which is the most important virtua fighter related site in west, for similar reasons.

Hi guys, firstly I'd like to say thanks again to Cambo and the many reasonable voices you all have, I am proud that we deal with things like adults 'round here.
I'll be terribly sorry to see you go Sin, I really don't want it to happen, I myself plan to get moved, new machine, new connection and back ingame in the next month or two, right now betweejm social and worklife I just have no focus, and my craptop doesn't help with the fact it barely works. I won't be losing touch with you, 'cos I know you are too good a mate .
Regarding binds and abuse or psueudo-abuse, I can only say that sometimes things are said in bad taste, some of us have hides of steel and cannot be touched by mere words, some of us get uptight and upset at anything related to bad memories, I think apologies and understanding are always welcome in these situations, I cannot condone what was said and done, and at the same time it's not in my own nature or the ethors of the SG to kick of about it. I and we are not doormats to be walked all over, but I would like to think we are the most understanding, chancer giving group of people we can be, and that should get us through. I think everything is in perspective now (I hope) and that people are sorry and some of the damage, i.e. the site, has been fixed. Let's try to move on without losing any friends.
Now I must go remove some skin, oh the fun of the winter.

Here i was thinking it was just reallife and GF that where keeping you from us Well no rush mate getting back into the game.
As for cambo being our steward, i pritty much saw him as that since he was the most active of us lot. I for one think a big Thanks is in order for cam keeping things together till plight comes back.
Also a big well done to those that stayed for the whole raid last night despite the pbvious whooping we recieved
Yeah we were getting are butts handed to us but that is how people learn, next time we will need to sort out a more balanced team to counter all the debuffing we were given.
And Sin you will be missed and from what i got from the global channel, the insults that were being throw were on a very touchy subject, and one that i have had happen to someone close to me, so i understand to a degree how it can be very frustrating when people bring up things that are totally unnecessary. but what is done is done and i am happy that you have brought back the site ty.

Yup, just posted in the lvl50 topic, 1 of my fans died last night. This morning my PSU decided to join him, so gotta replace the hardware, hopefully done by tonight if they got all the stuff in stock.

Wow the bump!!
Past few days i had some minor issues with the nameservers of the domain, you might experience few 'cant find pages' or 'no page to display' message, but with the adding of a 3rd nameserver this all seems to be resolved (it normaly takes up to 48 hours to get the new DNS working). Ok techy talk, next issue.
Anyway, this morning my entire network seems to have crashed down into a bunch of switches that imitate disco-lights, aka not working. Thus the webserver/email is entirely down for now, tonight i will continue to try fixing it. TeamSpeak is still working, my other email still reachable (the cistron one).
